Asim ibn Thabit (Arabic: عاصم بن ثابت) was one of the Ansar, a person belonging to one of the first generations of Muslims and who helped Muhammad after his migration to Medina.
He participated in the Battle of Badr. Muhammad's forces included Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, Hamza, Mus`ab ibn `Umair, Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam, Ammar ibn Yasir, and Abu Dharr al-Ghifari. The Muslims also brought seventy camels and two horses, meaning that they either had to walk or fit three to four men per camel. However, many early Muslim sources indicate that no serious fighting was expected, and the future Caliph Uthman stayed behind to care for his sick wife Ruqayyah, the daughter of Muhammad.Salman the Persian also could not join the battle, as he was still not a free man.
He also participated in the Invasion of Hamra al-Asad, After staying at Hamra al-Asad for three days, Muhammad returned to Medina. He captured Abu Azzah al-Jumahi as prisoner. Abu Azzah had previously been one of the prisoners of Badr. Abu Azzah Amr bin Abd Allah al-Jumahi had been treated kindly by Muhammad after the Battle of Badr, being a poor man with daughters, he had no means to pay ransom, he was released after Battle of Badr, on the condition that he would not take up arms against Muslims again. But he had broken his promise and participated in Battle of Uhud. He pleaded for mercy again, but Muhammad ordered him to be killed. Az-Zubair executed him, and in another version, Asim ibn Thabit.
Ibn Thabit is an anonymous Hip hop musician from Libya known for his anti-government songs. Thabit has been living in Libya where any form of dissent was banned by law in Muammar Gaddafi's regime and could have resulted in his being arrested and imprisoned, the primary reason for his using an epithet to preserve his anonymity. Ibn Thabit's music is considered to have given a voice to Libyans who wish to express themselves politically and non-violently despite being disenfranchised. Dissenting cultural figures have been arrested and tortured in a number of countries during the Arab Spring.
Ibn Thabit considers himself to be an ordinary Libyan who is "speaking the thoughts of many Libyan youth". He claims that he is inspired by the people, telling a journalist from the Danish newspaper Information that he was more affected by conversations with fellow Libyans than by anything else. Not much is known about him other than that he is young, male and Libyan. He is thought to be from Tarhunah. Ibn Thabit was one of the early critics of Gaddafi in 2011, the nascent movement building up to a full-fledged civil war, part of the Arab Spring.
Muḥammad (Arabic: محمد; c. 570 CE – 8 June 632 CE), is the central figure of Islam and widely regarded as its founder. He is known to Muslims as the "Holy Prophet", almost all of whom consider him to be the last prophet sent by God to mankind to restore Islam, which they believe to be the unaltered original monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. He united Arabia into a single Muslim polity and ensured that his teachings, practices, and the Quran, which Muslims believe was revealed to him by God, formed the basis of Islamic religious belief.
Born approximately in 570 CE in the Arabian city of Mecca, Muhammad was orphaned at an early age; he was raised under the care of his paternal uncle Abu Talib. After his childhood Muhammad primarily worked as a merchant. Occasionally, he would retreat to a cave named Hira in the mountains for several nights of seclusion and prayer; later, at age 40, he reported being visited by Gabriel in the cave and received his first revelation from God. Three years after this event Muhammad started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that "God is One", that complete "surrender" (lit. islām) to him is the only way (dīn) acceptable to God, and that he was a prophet and messenger of God, similar to the other prophets in Islam.
Maria bint Sham'ûn, better known as Maria al-Qibtiyya (Arabic: مارية القبطية) (alternatively, "Maria Quptiyah"), or Maria the Copt, (died 637) was an Egyptian Coptic slave who was gifted to the Islamic prophet Muhammad in 628 by Muqawqis the Copt, the Christian ruler of Egypt at the time. She converted to Islam on the way to Al-Madinah to marry the prophet and later bore a son, Ibrahim who died in childhood, and then she died almost five years later.
She was not the prophet's wife, but his concubine. As Islamic law allows marital relations with ones wives who are given their dowry, and legally-acquired concubines, as both wives and concubines are considered part of one's household. She is also not mentioned in Ibn-Hisham's notes on Ibn-Ishaq's biography where he lists the wives of Muhammad. Despite this, she enjoyed a special status in the prophetic Household, in that she followed the same laws of modesty and hijab as the Mothers of the believers (wives) did, she later observed the same etiquette and lifestyle as a widow, and was treated in a similarly generous way by the Caliphs Abu Bakr and Umar. According to Sunni Islam, all of the prophet's wives in this world, and Mariya the Mother of his son, are eternally his wives in paradise. Her sister, Sirin, was also sent to Muhammad, who gave her to his follower Hassan ibn Thabit.

The Real Reason for the revelation of the Quran 66 is found in Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Volume 10, Pages 57-68 and found in Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith #434, Muslim Book 9, Hadith #3496, Abu Dawud Book 26, Hadith #3705. These are authentic Hadith according to Sunni Islam. The whole Hafsa, Mary the Copt and Prophet Muhammad story is found in Ibn Sad Volume 8, Page 223, Al-Tabari, Volume 9, Page 131, Nasai Volume 4 Hadith #3411, pages 204-205 and Tafsir Al-Jalalayn and Tafsir Al-Tabari. However these sources either have broken chains of transmissions or fabricated chains of transmissions so these sources are not authentic according to Islamic standards. The claim that Mary the Copt was a slave is also found in Ibn Ishaq page 653-- however Ibn Ishaq is not an authentic source. See my vide...
