Lumbini, Birthplace of Lord Buddha - Part 1
A short film about Lumbini, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, birthplace of Buddha and one of the holiest places of one of the world's great religions.
His Holiness Buddha Maitreya, the American born incarnation of Maitreya Buddha and founder of The Buddhist Association of North America has been granted land within the Monastic Zone of Lumbini and next to the Sacred Garden, birthplace of his previous incarnation to construct a Monastery representing Maitreya American Buddhism.
The Monastery is designed by Buddha Maitreya with sacred geomancy where the energy of the Soul can be collected, stored and placed into the Earth so that the Earth radiates more love, kindness, humanity and less war.
Buddha Maitreya has supported the renewal and restoration of sacred sites across Nepal as well as India and Tibet: rebuilding Tibetan monasteries in Dema and Litang, Tibet; constructing new Prayer halls at several Khamtsen colleges within Drepung Loseling Buddhist University, India and establishing The Great Namgyal Stupa for all Tibetan refugees within H.H. Dalai Lama's Residence in Dharamsala.
In addition, Buddha Maitreya is renowned for his support of the practical daily needs of Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries with a focus on improving the basics: diet, clothing and shelter. Most recently, He has also established a network of free medical clinics within Nepal. They are located in the cities of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and at Chaimale village serving the rural outlying areas.

The Oneness of Creation
This film depicts the ancient Buddhist sites of India. The story of the Buddha and the development of Buddhism are traced through the art and architecture of ancient monuments. The film undertakes a visual journey through the life of the Buddha; to the places of his birth, enlightenment, first sermon and final renunciation. The four great Buddhist pilgrimage sites of Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath and Kushinagar are among the most revered places in the world. This film also provides a wide perspective of the heritage of both Theravada and Mahayana-Vajrayana orders of Buddhism.

Pilgrimage to Lumbini, Nepal (2011)
Lumbini is one of the four main pilgrimage sites of Buddhism. It is the birthplace of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as the Buddha (enlightened one). It is now a World Heritage Site and areas surrounding it have become strictly a monastic zone. No hotels, shops or restaurants can be built within that zone. Many Buddhist nations and organizations have contributed in building magnificent monuments, shrines, temples, and monasteries. This is definitely a place to visit when traveling in Nepal.

Lumbini, Nepal: The birth place of Buddha- UNESCO World Heritage Site
Lumbini (Devnagari: लुम्बिनी) is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. This is the place where Queen Mayadevi had given birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who later became "Buddha" and founded "Buddhism".
Beside the Mayadevi temple, in Lumbini, there is the Puskarini (or Holy Pond) where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath. Beside the pond is Bodhi tree. A pillar near the Mayadevi temple, the Ashoka Pillar, marks the spot of Asoka's visit to Lumbini (Ashoka was an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty).
Lumbini is an UNESCO World Heritage Site - http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/666. The holy site of Lumbini has ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi tree, an ancient bathing pond, the Asokan pillar and the Mayadevi temple, where the precise place of birth of Buddha is located. From early morning to early evening, pilgrims from various countries perform chanting and meditation at the site.

BUDDHA BIRTH PLACE LUMBINI NEPAL
Lumbini is the presumed location where the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama
was born to Queen Mayadevi, in modern-day Nepal. It is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, and has been since 1997. It is arguably the most sacred
site in Buddhism, and as such is an important pilgrimage for Buddhists
of all schools.
The Sakyamuni Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, was born to a noble family.
He was the son of King Suddhodana and Queen Mayadevi. Tradition states
that the Queen was unable to become pregnant for twenty years, until she
had a vision of a Boddhisatva. She awoke pregnant, and carried the Buddha
for ten cycles of the moon. On the way home to her father's kingdom, she
stopped in the park of Lumbini. While there she gave birth to her son,
the to-be-Buddha.
The site at Lumbini has been a very holy place in Buddhism since
around the 5th century BCE. Many pilgrims have visited the site,
and one, the Emperor Ashoka, erected a mighty pillar commemorating
the Buddha's birth on the site. There are a number of points of
archeological and spiritual interest. The ruins of a monastery are
on site, and are popular to tourists. A large pool where Queen
Mayadevi is said to have bathed still exists, and is known as the
Sacred Pool, an important destination for devotees. The exact
birthplace of the Lord Buddha is also specifically marked, giving
a focal point for pilgrims.
