Deep Purple Oslo Spectrum Norway 15th November 1993. This is a legendary gig. Lot of trouble in the band and this was the next to last gig Ritchie Blackmore ever did with Deep Purple. Jon Lord said before the gig that Ritchie was fired from the band after the tour ended. Probably why Ritchie was on fire here. Great ending for me. Take a look yourself. Glenn Hughes Oslo Elm Street Norway 15th November 1993. What a treat after Deep Purple. Glenn did a club show in Oslo. Good to see him live after all the problems he had earlier. Awesome set with Glover / Paice in the audience. Not really any good spot to film from here so I rushed infront, on the side of stage. Pretty much to close. Dont think my camera mic survived that night. I was standing inside the Marshall. Cam sound is fucked. so the sound is taken from another source. Travel video about destination Norway. Norway is a fascinating land in the extreme north of Europe where both magic and fairytales are very much alive. It has crystal clear lakes and rivers, snow covered mountains, idyllic fishing villages and endless beaches that are only accessible by boat.Although the Norwegian metropolis of Oslo is a modern city it continues to be inspired by the lively spirit of its past traders, fighting men and seafarers. Oslo is a harbour town that lies well sheltered at the end of a fjord and in the ninth century it was much appreciated by the Vikings who travelled throughout the known world, plundering much of it! Bergen’s main tourist attraction is the Bryggen district that originated in the middle of the fourteenth century when it was heavily influenced by the North German Hanseatic Office. The city not only boasts a fascinating history but also a number of music festivals and it was the birthplace of world famous composer Edvard Grieg. Trondheim is Norway’s historic capital in which the country’s kings have been crowned. The Nidaros Domkirke is the most splendid Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. It was built on the bones of Holy Olav. For several centuries it has been a place of pilgrimage and since the Middle Ages the Norwegian kings were crowned and also entombed within its walls. The small village of Nusfjord is located in front of a captivating backdrop of mountains. Due to its unique location it looks more like a high mountain village than a fishing settlement. It is both an historical as well as a cultural treasure. It is easy to understand why the descendants of the Vikings are so proud of their fascinating home in the extreme north. Norway, a country bursting with breathtaking and untamed beauty!

With 250,000 people, Bergen is a big city by Norwegian standards, but visitors sticking to the compact old center find it charming. Enjoy the busy harbor with its salty market and timber warehouses dripping with Hanseatic history, then stroll the pedestrian-friendly old quarter, with cute lanes of delicate wooden houses. Then for a modern contrast, head for Bergen's urban heart — which has a thriving personality all its own. http://www.expedia.com/Oslo-and-vicinity.d178295.Destination-Travel-Guides Located on the Aker River in Norway’s south east is the beautiful city of Oslo. As well as being the country’s capital and cultural heart, Oslo is also the gateway to Norway’s natural beauty. In recent years, the rugged dock areas that launched so many adventures have been reinvented as an entertainment hub. Fashionable cafes and restaurants sit easily here amidst centuries of history. There is a strong naval history here. Visit the Viking Ship Museum to see a stunning display of 800 year-old long-ships and learn how they learned to navigate without compasses. At the Fram Museum, learn how the crews of early polar expeditions survived in one of the coldest and most dangerous places on earth. The nearby Kon-Tiki Museum is a tribute to an epic adventure that captivated and inspired a world, exhausted by the second world war. One of the world’s most respected awards, the annual Nobel Peace Prize also has its home here. Visit the Noble Peace Center which showcases the achievements of pioneers in world. Another of Oslo’s premier buildings for which Oslo is known is its Opera House, just a short stroll away. Said to resemble a glacier, it’s gentle sloping roof is a popular meeting place and a great spot to enjoy a panoramic view. Norway is home to one of the oldest monachys in the world and the Royal Palace, right in the centre of the city is their official residence. Enjoy the beautiful palace park, especially in the summer, when the sun doesn’t set until after 11.00 pm. No matter where you wander in Oslo, this modern city with a heroic past is full of character, flavour and adventure.

I attended a Travel workshop in Oslo, Norway - a huge marketplace for Norwegian travel product which included over 800 people from Norway and all over the world. I was asked to give the traditional 'Takk for Maten' speech at the end of the gala closing dinner. I was told to focus the speech on the workshop, however I felt uninspited at the topic when I had so much more I wanted to say. My mother wisely said, "Julie, they don't know what they want to hear; you have to show them." So, I crafted a speech doing both what they wanted to hear and what I wanted to say - however you will see me hit my stride mid-way through the speech when I talk about Norway in very personal terms. Credit also goes to editorial input by both my mother, Eileen Wilson and the esteemed Barbara Banks who gave the speech one of my fondest lines ... a quote from a Beatles song. If I am unable to edit the film to just the speech, you will find it between minute 21:30 to 41:30. An exhilarating experience and afterwards I had a glass of wine and then walked the cobbled streets of Oslo in high heels with Liv (who was later to become my sister in-law), just being carefree, young and giddy in the magic of unfolding spring on a late night in early May.

Wall Street Journal 2015-03-26Norway i/ˈnɔrweɪ/ (Norwegian:
Norge (Bokmål) or
Noreg (Nynorsk)), officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic unitary constitutional monarchy whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Jan Mayen, the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard and the subantarctic Bouvet Island. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of about 5 million. It is the second least densely populated country in Europe. The majority of the country shares a border to the east with Sweden; its northernmost region is bordered by Finland to the south and Russia to the east; in its south Norway borders the Skagerrak Strait across from Denmark. The capital city of Norway is Oslo. Norway's extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea, is home to its famous fjords.
Running some other way,
Got to get out
You’re already too late
To think of some other way now,
Dedicating endless plaques to friends
You’re not proud
Proud of something that’s changed
Changed your inner mind
You’re already too late;
The cycle starts with a shout loud,
What follows next was never planned,
Well, not that you knew
All words drown out
You’re falling down
--------
Reeling and feeling its dragging you down
You can’t deny
Our slow decline
But ever since I
I’ve changed you cry
This timeless lie
Is growing on me
It’s all that’s left of me
My life my fight my time my vice my crime
You'll never relate to what it feels like
Cos its already too late
To feel a thing when your
Insides, are full of hate
And there's no way to fake decisions
It’s a subliminal fate
It wraps itself round
Your fear of what is blowing away
The world it seems
Is weighing down on you like a mirror
Is it just a splinter
Of all we lost
-----------
Caught in the spotlight but no-one is ever looking at you
You can’t deny
Our slow decline
Accelerates mine
I’ve changed you cry
This timeless lie
Is growing on me
It’s all that’s left of me
My life my fight my time my vice my crime
------------------------------------------+
All that you break is our shared fall
But you cant recall
