Firefox Fix: Disable protected mode in Flash
If your system shows an error when trying to play flash videos in Firefox, and you have our Downloader extension installed, you have run into a compatibility issue with Adobe's latest Flash release.
You can fix the issue with playback and use the RealNetwork's Video Downloader extension in Firefox by disabling Adobe Flash's protected mode.
To do this, you must edit Adobe Flash's mms.cfg file.
On 64-bit windows, you can find the file in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
On 32-bit windows, the file will be in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
To edit, first close Firefox. Next, open Notepad in Administrator mode as seen in the video (You don't need to open the file with special permissions on Windows XP). Then, open the mms.cfg file from the appropriate directory.
Add ProtectedMode=0 to the last line in the file. Save and close. You will have to repeat these steps and delete this line to re-enable protected mode.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to work with protected mode in internet explorer.
Protected mode in internet explorer is basically another tool which makes it difficult for malicious applications and viruses to access your computer. Usually IE protected mode is enabled by default. Furthermore, we will teach you how to adjust your settings by going to the security center as well. It is recommended that you surf the internet with the protected mode enabled.
Step 1 -- Disabled Protected Mode notification
If protected mode is disabled in the browser, you will get a notification on the top of your browser, letting you know that IE protected mode is currently disabled. To enable the feature, right click on the notification and click on the "open security settings" option.
Step 2 -- Enable Protected Mode
This will redirect you to the security tab in the internet options window. Over here, tick on the checkbox titled "Enable Protected Mode" and apply the changes you have made. You will need to restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
Step 3 -- Open New Session
Next, we'll simply open up a new session. You can do so by going to the file menu and clicking on the "New Session" option.
Step 4 -- Adjust security settings
In the new Window you will see at the bottom of the browser, where the status bar is present, that protected mode in Internet Explorer is enabled. If you double click on the status bar, the Security Center window will open up. You can adjust the security settings from here as well.

Vanessa Bruno - Moonlight
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
A stellar girl, a radiant girl who clutches onto the moon and arrives in an unknown land, on unmarred ground, as immaculate as her white ensemble.
Is this the end of reality, the beginning of a dream?
The new Vanessa Bruno film directed by Stephanie Di Giusto presents a face, that of Kate Bosworth.
She lives in an illusory house, set in the desert of an improbable space-time where anything is possible, whether weightlessness or challenging the course of time.
Her past resurfaces. It is airy and subconscious: a child's hand caressing her face, a swimming pool in sunny California, laughter, life.
Kate rushes forth and doesn’t look back, there were memories and now there is the horizon, a future to invent, to imagine, like a futuristic fairy tale.
She finally reveals herself to the moon, like a young woman messiah illuminated from within by telluric thoughts.
Beyond its dreamlike nature, the film is a reflection of the Vanessa Bruno collection, a candor of tone in which the shell – the pearly softness of the clothes – is exiled beyond the contingencies of everyday life.
A Style, a mode of dress in lieu of sunscreen against the surrounding somber grayness from which the silhouette and the face of actress Kate Bosworth radiate hope.
A weightless film where imagination reigns and safeguards a purity that nothing can hinder. A girl with her head in the clouds, who clings to her dreams. Or on towards the stars?

k where do i begin?!!
this summer has been incredibly busy, from vancouver, to miami, to sydney, to hawaii, to niagara falls (haha k this is only a 200km drive) shooting weddings, teaching workshops, shooting corporate promos + commercials and of course shooting more weddings.
things are taking longer then expected but b4 i launch my website + 2010 highlights; i want to quickly share with you the first ever myw multi day south asian wedding that i attended this past weekend.
while i've had the oppurtunity to shoot hindu and sikh indian weddings in the past this was the first time i've shot a 5 day (yes 5 day) Ismaili wedding; and i sure had a TON of learning to do. I was up with farzana + shameer @ their place (luckly they live 2 mins away from me!! hehe) till 5 am, after a 4 hour pre-wedding consultation to learn exactly all of the different rituals, ceremonies, scarves, certain drinks that have cultural/religious/mythological significance to them and their culture. needless to say my head pretty much exploded but i was pumpppppeed to make this happen.
and while its hard to not notice, farzana + shameer are obviously a stunning looking couple, but they are also super warm, down to earth, approachable, caring and just all around awesome!!! their bridal party, friends and family were supppper amazing as well.
i REALALLLLLLYY love you guys!!! thank you for having me document your wedding.
TECHNICAL + PRODUCTION TIDBITS for my industry friends and colleagues.
- being a multi-day event requiring many symmetrical ceremonies happening @ the same time, I contracted my internationally acclaimed wedding cinematographer/educator/best friend konrad czystowski to help me shoot the events that i couldnt personally shoot myself due to logistical limitations. one of the most important lessons l learned from internationally acclaimed ray roman while teaching @ his workshop in miami a month ago; was that he stressed how important it is to build solid relationships with great, honest and genuine ppl who can help us in our journey in this industry. in turn, konrad brings me to shoot a wedding with him in hawaii... WOOHOO!!!
now to give you an idea of how much work was involved in this weddng, here is a breakdown.
-WEDNESDAY henna ceremony - shot by myw + 1 5D mkii. the ceremony was 6 hours.
-THURSDAY henna ceremony for the bridesmaids + women from the grooms side of the family. this is the day where the siblings of both the bride and groom goto the mosque and fill up the guri with holy water and bring it back home for the bride and groom to bathe in it. various other ceremonies (egging of the groom, eating of butter chicken (heheh), more to be explained below) also occur on thursday as well. i would say this was another 7 hours or so. both Konrad and myself used one Canon 5D mkII to cover everything. konrad @ groom's house while I was at the brides.
-FRIDAY this was the day the bride and groom, as well as both their respective families get to finally meet and see eachother, this was @ a reception gathering. I shot this mostly myself with Konrad helping out for 3 hours. Total amount of time I would say I was shooting on and off was another 10 hours.
-SATURDAY this was the break day where no shooting was involved and I basically went through a good 30 hours of footage and edited + transcoded between multiple machines straight an entire day (and night). Konrad's pre sequenced and rough-cut timelines were a huge help in making this possible.
-SUNDAY I marched on the big wedding day on SUNDAY without a single second of sleep. Yes I almost cried in agony from editing during the middle of the night. Nevertheless, Konrad was at my house 7:45am, and the worlds busiest/most talented 16 year old boy wonder cinematographer Mark Klassen arrived too, and my trusty protege from scratch and Troy Turgano also helped with the editing duties all day. This wedding day ran from 8 am to about 1am, and had 2 sets of preps, 2 first meetings, 2 photosessions, 1 wedding ceremony and 1 wedding reception.
this piece was shot entirely with Canon 5DmkII's in 24p mode.
there is no doubt that the 5Dmkii currently provides the highest value/dollar HDSLR in event filmmaking industry today. it is better then the 7D due to it's full frame capabilities, cleaner low light and richer color reproduction. when i compare the 5d to the 1dmk4; I do notice that the 1dmk4 is better in low light, and the 1dmk4's crop factor is better in certain cases (removing mild vignetting in some lenses as well as removing the less sharp image characteristics @ the edges of an image); but for the price of a single 1dmk4, i can purchases 2 5dmkii's. it's a complete no brainer.
- as both konrad and I taught in sydney australia 2 weeks ago and did a

The Inaugural Henry Cole Lecture: Sir Christopher Frayling, 30 October 2008
The inaugural Henry Cole Lecture, held at the V&A; Museum in London on 30 October 2008. The purpose of the lecture is to celebrate the legacy of the Museum’s founding director, and explore its implications for museums, culture and society today.
The lecture, entitled 'We Must Have Steam: Get Cole! Henry Cole, the Chamber of Horrors, and the Educational Role of the Museum' was delivered by Professor Sir Christopher Frayling. He presented new research on the “chamber of horrors” (a contemporary nickname for one of the V&A;'s earliest galleries, 'Decorations on False Principles', that opened in 1852) and the myths and realities of its reception, then opened up a wider debate on design education and museums from the nineteenth century to the present day.
Transcript:
Mark Jones: The annual Henry Cole lecture has been initiated to celebrate Henry Cole's legacy and to explore the contribution that culture can make to education and society today. It has also been launched to celebrate the opening of the Sackler Centre for arts education, including the Hochhauser Auditorium in which we sit tonight. There could be no one better than Professor Sir Christopher Frayling to give the inaugural Henry Cole Lecture. Christopher is a rare being: an intellectual who is a great communicator; a theorist who has a firm grip on the practical realities of life: a writer who truly and instinctively understands the words of making design and visual communication. As an enormously successful and respected Rector of the Royal College of Art, as Chairman of the Arts Council, and as a member and chair of boards too numerous to mention - but not forgetting the Royal Mint Advisory Committee which has recently been responsible for redesigning the coinage (personal interest) and as by far the longest-serving Trustee of the V&A;, he brings together culture, education and public service in a way which Henry Cole would have approved and admired. So it's more than fitting that he should be giving this first Henry Cole Lecture, 'We Must Have Steam: Get Cole! Henry Cole, the Chamber of Horrors, and the Educational Role of the Museum'.
CHRISTOPHER FRAYLING:
Thank you very much indeed Mark and thank you very much for inviting me to give this first Henry Cole Lecture. Just how much of an honour it is for me will I hope become clear as the lecture progresses.
Mark, Chairpeople, ladies and gentlemen:
Hidden away in the garden of the South Kensington Museum - now the Madejski Garden of the V&A; - there is a small and easily overlooked commemorative plaque that doesn't have a museum number. It reads: 'In Memory of Jim Died 1879 Aged 15 Years, Faithful Dog of Sir Henry Cole of this Museum'. Jim had in fact died on 30 January 1879. He was with Henry Cole in his heyday, as the king of South Kensington - its museums and colleges - and saw him through to retirement from the public service and beyond. And next to this inscription there's another one dedicated to Jim's successor, Tycho, and dated 1885. The dogs are actually buried in the garden. Now we know from Henry Cole's diary that between 1864 and 1879 Jim, who was a cairn terrier, was often to be seen in public at his master's side. In 1864 they were together inspecting the new memorial to the Great Exhibition of 1851 just behind the Albert Hall - a statue of Prince Albert by Joseph Durham on a lofty plinth covered in statistics about the income, expenditure and visitor numbers to the Great Exhibition: 6,039,195 to be exact. Cole had been a tireless champion of Prince Albert and according to the Princess Royal (later Empress of Prussia) there was a family saying in Buckingham Palace at the time, invented by Albert himself, that when things needed doing 'when we want steam we must get Cole'. We may therefore assume that when looking at the memorial, Cole was interested in the inscription, the statistics and the likeness of Prince Albert, while Jim was more interested in the possibilities of the plinth. In early 1866 - these are five studies of Jim, an etching by Henry Cole himself of 1864. In early 1866, first thing in the morning, soon after the workmen's bell had rung, Henry and Jim would set forth together from Cole's newly constructed official residence in the Museum (where he moved in July 1863) to tour the building sites of South Kensington - a name which was first invented by Cole when he re-named the museum The South Kensington Museum to describe the new developments happening around Brompton Church. According to 'The Builder' magazine, these two well-known figures would 'be seen clambering over bricks, mortar and girders up ladders and about scaffolding'. Several buildings in the South Kensington Renaissance Revival style were springing up all around them: The Natural History Museum, The College of Science, the extension to this Museum. And on the morning the Bethnal Green Museum opened - 24 June 1872 - Jim showed a healthy distaste for his master's well-known predilection for pomp and
