It is well known to music lovers as we have in Azerbaijan and abroad. His work can rightly be considered one of the outstanding achievements of the entire multinational Soviet music. Wonderful musician, who was then in the prime of his life, created many works have earned warm sympathy and deep interest in the audience. Music of Amirov wins candor and sincerity of lyrical intonation, the generosity of melodic material, congestion and vitality of figurative and emotional content, the wealth of ingenuity in the composer's expressive means. Amirov's creative interests include in its orbit many genres and forms of music, from the monumental - opera, ballet, symphony, choreographic poem - to the song, romance, film music. Many themes of creativity Amirov connected with Azerbaijani national art: music, poetry, literature. Perhaps this quality is one of unquestionable merits of all created by the composer. A vivid confirmation of this is represented on this work. Symphony "Nizami" was created in the early period of the composer (1947). In those years Amirov has not yet completed his studies at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. But in spite of the author's youth, the symphony is a very mature work, one of the best among all his work - convince the depth and versatility of image-emotional world, expressive and thematic abundance, richness of colors, as well as the elegance of compositional technique. Commentary by V.Sharifov Biography: Fikret Amirov Jamil oglu was born in 1957. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov in 1980, the class of Professor J.Hajiyev. During the years of study he wrote piano preludes, sonatas for piano and violin, String Quartet (revised later in the poem for string orchestra). His graduation work was a young composer Symphony for Strings, Piano and Harpsichord. Poem for String Orchestra (1979) was first performed at the Fifth Congress of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra conducted by N. Rzayev. It is characterized by expressive plasticity melodies, orchestral purity of lines, harmony of form. Poems peculiarity lies in organic combination with ashug intonations with rhythm-formulas of jazz-rock. This gives the music Poem's dynamic forward movement. In the poem there are two contrasting material to be variational development. As a result there is a peculiar form of Rondo variations. The main image - motor, dynamic - includes a number of non-contrast to those developed independently in diffusion, contributes to a variety of rhythmic syncopation configurations, variable meter, staccato sound of string-like tone saz.
