Tim Howard

Timothy Matthew "Tim" Howard (born March 6, 1979) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for English club Everton and the United States national team.

Howard started his career with the North Jersey Imperials before making a move to the MetroStars. His appearances soon attracted the attention of Manchester United, who signed him in 2003. He enjoyed relative success with them as they won the 2003 FA Community Shield, the 2003–04 FA Cup and the 2005–06 League Cup. However, after United signed Edwin van der Sar, Howard went out on loan to Everton to play more first-team soccer and eventually signed permanently with them in February 2007. On January 4, 2012, Howard scored a goal, his first as a professional, against Bolton Wanderers. This made him only the fourth goalkeeper to score a goal in a Premier League match.

Howard is the most capped goalkeeper of all-time for the United States with over 100 caps since his debut in 2002. He was an unused substitute for the 2006 World Cup but later established himself as first-choice and started all of the United States' games at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. The team reached the Round of 16 on both occasions, and during the latter Howard set a World Cup record for most saves in a match with 15.

Philip Timothy Howard is the former director of the College of Professional Studies' Doctorate Program in Law & Policy at Northeastern University. He is a former Assistant Attorney General of Florida and nominee for United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. Howard also has a private law practice, Howard & Associates, P.A.

Education

In 2005, he received his Ph.D., from Northeastern University in Law, Policy & Society, after defending his thesis "We've Been Framed!: Progressive Cause Lawyer Leadership in Florida Tobacco Liability Litigation". He received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University in 1986, and was admitted to the bar in 1987. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Government, with minors in History, Law & Society, and Spanish, from Florida State University in 1983. He is a former Health Law Scholar and Instructor in Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, Judicial Process, and Media & Politics at Boston University.

Timothy B. "Tim" Howard is the Sheriff of Erie County, New York. He has been Sheriff since 2005, succeeding newly elected Senator Patrick Gallivan.

2013 Election

Howard faced three candidates during the 2013 Election. Howard himself received the Erie County Republican Party nomination and the Erie County Conservative Party nomination. Meanwhile, the two other candidates Richard "Dick" Dobson, Sr. and Bert Dunn both went to a Democratic Primary. Dobson came out as the primary's winner, becoming the Democratic nominee while Dunn stayed in the race by starting a political party to receive ballot access; the Erie County Law and Order Party.
