Welcome to Philadelphia, considered the birthplace of the United States.
The Declaration of Independence was written and read publicly here in 1776. When you tour Philadelphia, you’ll get a sense of the history that permeates the city through its numerous monuments, symbols, and other landmarks, such as the First Bank of the United States and the warship USS Olympia. Don’t forget to stop by the Liberty Bell and the remains of the Eastern State Penitentiary, which housed notorious criminals like Al Capone.
You don’t need a car to enjoy your Philadelphia sightseeing; take public transportation or rent a bike to explore the city streets at your leisure. Fairmount Park is the perfect place for a stroll, and if you’ve got kids, bring them to the Please Touch Museum, where they can enjoy interactive exhibits and displays that will educate and entertain. If you’ve still got some energy after that, visit the Philadelphia Zoo and make friends with some of the animals. Don’t forget to sample some of the delicious food available in Philadelphia, particularly the fresh goods and cooked meals at the Italian Market.
From culinary delicacies to historical importance, Philadelphia truly has it all.

Come to Dubai, the ancient City of Gold, for your next vacation.
Modernity and antiquity collide in this vibrant city. Shop at the same spice market locals have been visiting for generations, then visit the stores in the Gold Souk, a jewelry-centered traditional marketplace. For a more modern shopping experience, go to the Dubai Mall, home to over 1200 stores, an underwater zoo, and KidZania®, a “city” where children can roleplay various careers.
To soak up some of the legendary Dubai sunshine, simply step outside. Take in the view of the city from the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Continue your Dubai tour by wandering through the exotic buildings and resorts, or visit some of the public beaches. If you’d like to try something a little different and don’t mind paying a small fee, you can also attend local hotel beaches even if you aren’t staying there.
You can’t finish your Dubai sightseeing without a trip into the desert itself. Ride a camel, go sandboarding, or just stand out on the dunes and marvel at the beauty of it all.

Four hundred miles west of Moscow is St. Petersburg, Russia. A striking city resting on the banks of the Neva River, St. Petersburg has long been a draw for lovers of architecture, as St. Petersburg tours often begin with the city's legendary structures.
Enter a world of towering cathedrals, palaces, and gardens, many of them set down by the order of Peter the Great in the 18th century. As the decades passed, later members of Russian royalty added to the city's opulence by constructing additional marvels. Walk through the Palace Square, located in the heart of St. Petersburg and home of the Winter Palace, the sprawling home of Catherine the Great. Next, pay a visit to St. Isaac's Cathedral and its gold-plated dome, which glitters in the sunshine. If you walk to the top of its dome, you will be rewarded with astonishing views of the city.
Continue your St. Petersburg sightseeing by taking a boat ride down the river to Peterhof Gardens & Palace. This gilded structure and its lush array of plant life was constructed to rival France's Palace of Versailles, and is a popular place for a quiet walk in nature or to reflect upon the engineering marvel of its 60 fountains, all of which flow continuously without the use of pumps.
Spend your evening walking along Nevsky Prospect, St. Petersburg's main thoroughfare. Besides offering even more beautiful architecture to gaze upon, Nevsky Prospect is loaded with restaurants and boutiques. Enjoy a delicious meal, shop around for the perfect Russian souvenir, and plan the itinerary for your next day in this magnificent city.

Named for good sailing winds, Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina, and home to nearly a quarter of the country’s two million residents. Come for the stunning European architecture, and stay for delicious cuts of meat, the city’s zest for soccer, and, of course, the tango.
“The Paris of South America” boasts outstanding shopping and a friendly populace. A tour of Buenos Aires should cut through La Boca Harbor, where you’ll find numerous street vendors, restaurants, and street dancers willing to give you a spin. Wander down the streets to take in colorful artwork, and make a game out of asking the locals what neighborhood you should tour next. Here’s a hint: with so much to see, everyone will give you a different answer!
Some will tell you to visit San Telmo for souvenirs, patio shopping, and crumbling historical buildings. Others will suggest Puerto Madero, a refurbished shipping port that boasts a mixture of old-world glamour and modern buildings. What everyone will suggest, however, is a stop by Plaza de Mayo. There you can take in the rosy architecture of the Casa Rosada, which was made famous by Argentine First Lady Eva Peron and the musical about her life, “Evita.” Take a tour and learn about her life, from her humble beginnings to her rise to power.
Cap off your Buenos Aires sightseeing with an evening walk through Puerto Madero, where you can get a late dinner and dance until the next day arrives.

http://bookinghunter.com
Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the second largest city on the East Coast of the United States, and the fifth-most-populous city in the United States.[1] It is located in the Northeastern United States along the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, and it is the only consolidated city-county in Pennsylvania.
The most important places to visit in Philadelphia are: Franklin Court (was raised in 1812, the ghost of it still stands today. Here is the Christ Church Burial Ground, another famous landmark, where Ben Franklin and four other signers of the Declaration of Independence were laid to rest), Congress Hall (was home of the first Congress. On top of that, George Washington and John Adams were inaugurated here, and the Bill of Rights was ratified right inside), Liberty Bell (is perhaps Philadelphia's most famous attraction. On July 8th, 1776, it was rung to commemorate the hearing of the Declaration of Independence. The Bell weighs 2,000 pounds, which may not be apparent by looking at it) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Philadelphia travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

This video clip was taken on our way home from our Virginia fall vacation. We decided to break up the 11 hour drive and stay overnight in Pittsburgh, a city that I had wanted to see for a long time. Pittsburgh is known for its stunning location on the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers which together form the Ohio River. The downtown area is referred to as the Golden Triangle, and at its tip, right where the rivers converge, there is Point State Park. Unfortunately Point State Park was closed off due to renovations, but we got a good look at the diverse architecture in downtown Pittsburgh which represents an eccelectic mix of old and new. In total there are 151 skyscrapers in downtown Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh has a really interesting history, over the last few decades it has been transforming itself from an industrial centre dominated by the steel industry to a modern city that has undergone a process of revitalization. Today's Pittsburgh relies on an economic base that consists of education, tourism, healthcare, medicine and high technology. The diverse geography of the city provides great opportunities for outdoor recreation, and the city has more bridges than Venice - apparently 446 bridges in total. We explored a few of them in the downtown core.
After our mid-afternoon exploration of downtown we decided to check out Mount Washington, a residential neighbourhood on the south side of Pittsburgh, best known for its steep hill overlooking the skyline. One of Pittsburgh's unique features are its incline railways or funiculars, which connect the low-lying areas next to the river to the mountaintop. Of the 77 incline railways that used to exist here in the past only two remain: the Monongahela Incline and the more well-known Duquesne Incline. We took the Monongahela Incline which dates back to 1870, and within little more than 2 minutes and at an incline of 35 degrees we travelled up the mountain for a total distance of 194 metres. The view from the top is truly stunning, and this view has recently been named the second best vista in the United States.
We were able to enjoy the sunset from the top of Mount Washington and watch as all the skyscrapers of Pittsburgh started to light up. We also visited the Duquesne Incline and the nearby church of St. Mary on the Mount. After our descent we spent some more time at Station Square, a former railway station that has been turned into an entertainment district with numerous shopping and dining opportunities. A few hours in Pittsburgh were certainly not enough to explore this scenic and historic city, but it was enough to confirm that this city will need to be explored in further detail.
I am actually a travel writer who loves to explore international destinations as well as my chosen home town of Toronto. On Youtube you will find hundreds of video clips from a wide variety of destinations. Feel free to check out some of my 700+ articles and interviews on http://www.travelandtransitions.com. Thousands of tourists come from around the country and the world to see the beautiful city of Pittsburgh.
What is there to see and do? I sit down with James Hill, a graduate of Point Park University for Broadcast Reporting, winner of three Point Park University Broadcasting Awards, intern at Pittsburgh’s City Council, and tour guide for the Just Ducky Tours.
My questions for him are as follows:
1. What peaked your interest to become a tour guide?
2. How far do people come to tour Pittsburgh, and did you ever meet a tourist from another country?
3. What are some of the most common questions you are asked while giving a tour; and how many tourists do you get per day?
4. What are your top 3, must see sights in Pittsburgh.
5. What is your favorite restaurant?

Music, Lyrics and Vocal by Pat Leone
This year (2016) marks Pittsburgh's 200th, BI-CENTENNIAL,
Birthday. I will never forget the first time I saw that magnificent view of Pittsburgh from high atop Mt. Washington. I knew as a young musician that I would one day compose a song about how I felt at that moment. The view was magical. I could hear the sounds of the city that seemed to be saying "WISHES and DREAMS DO COME TRUE". This song is a tribute to one of America's great cities. I like to refer to Pittsburgh as the "City of Knowledge with Magic". Like it's rivers, this knowledge flows from it's great universities, medical and research institutions and high tech corporations. The magic happens when this knowledge is united with the unique unwavering spirit of the people who live and work in the region. The Pittsburgh region has become what it is today because of the hard work and sacrifice of the city's forefathers and ancestors . They created the formula for the magic that is on display, the magic that radiates from a majestic skyline, the magic that resides in the soul of it's championship sports teams, and the magic that is resonant in the hearts and minds of the people of Pittsburgh. "With a Spirit that never lets down, Pittsburgh, what a Magic Town". My sincere thanks to all of the great musicians who performed with me. A very special thanks to pianist Frank Cunimondo, my co-producer, musical partner and mentor, whose knowledge, assistance, encouragement and belief in this song helped make this project possible. My thanks to one of the greatest arrangers of our time, Dr. John Wilson and his big band.
Thanks to Joe Negri, Roger Humphries and Dwayne Dolphin for their wonderful musical contributions, to Jay Dudt for his engineering excellence and to Bill Christner, my production assistant. A very special thanks to Marty and Jay Ashby and everyone at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild. It is in keeping with this rich musical tradition that I pay tribute to Pittsburgh, for no other musical genre can quite capture the majesty and grandeur of a city like the sound of a modern big band swinging with jazz - a classic retro sound for a class Renaissance city. "Happy Birthday" PITTSBURGH......

Lyrics: Everybody! Come here look, just look out there, at such a
wondrous sight, rivers flowing on the left and the right, and it's hard to believe how far you can see, what a view what a sight what a sound, Pittsburgh, what a magic town! People come to stare, no other place will compare with a view of a town such as this from atop this mountain cliff, I feel it's mine, this moment here in time, Oh how I love the view of that Pittsburgh skyline!
Yea it's real, this city made of steel, with all it's glorious lights that light up the night and I'm glad to be here, to share this with all of you, you"ll fall in love with the view as it calls out to you saying wishes and dreams do come true. Pittsburgh, with bridges to the world showing how everything old becomes new, with a spirit that never let's down, Pittsburgh, oh city of knowledge with magic, show me the magic NOW!

Captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who was kidnapped on the Israeli side of the Gaza border by Hamas terrorists in 2006, will be named an Honorary Citizen of the City of Pittsburgh on Tuesday, August 30, at 10 a.m., in a special ceremony in City Council Chambers. Councilman Doug Shields, who has lived in Israel, authored the Honorary Citizen Proclamation.
Gilad Shalit was on routine patrol duty when he was abducted during a period of relative calm on the border. Hamas has since used him as a bargaining chip in its play for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Hamas has refused to let the International Red Cross visit the abducted soldier and has not provided any indication that he is still alive in nearly two years.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh's Community Relations Council has waged a persistent campaign to increase awareness about Gilad's plight.
CRC is also promoting the What Gilad Missed campaign of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, urging Pittsburghers to visit www.whatgiladmissed.org and engage in the suggested action items found there.
