Time lapse complete Large format tile shower, Shcluter, mosaic, river rock, Ditra heat T-Lock™

Time lapse of the installation of a shower steam room from start to finish, with all Schluter products as the waterproofing method, and Ditra Heat uncoupling membrane with electric floor heat on the main floor. Kerdi-drain, Kerdi-board and other Schluter components and Ditra Heat were used to build this master bathroom. The T-Lock tile lippage system was used to help install the 27inch by 17inch large format tile on the shower walls. Glass mosaic tile on the shower ceiling and river rock on the shower floor were also installed in this shower. The shower also features a large recessed niche with three shelves. This bathroom also features a large accent wall with a glass tone mosaic mix tile. Large format tiles have become very popular, and because of the large size lippage, which is one tile being higher than the adjacent tile, has become a growing problem. To keep tiles in the same plain, which means reduce or eliminate lippage, tile lippage systems have been developed; T-Lock is a wedge type system which does a very good job of keeping lippage under control. Schluter Kerdi-board is extruded polystyrene foam panel, with a special reinforcement material on both sides and fleece webbing it comes in thicknesses of 3/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2", and 2". It is used in conjunction with Kerdi-Band and unmodified thinset to build waterproof shower enclosures and anywhere waterproof walls are desirable.
