Crawford County is the name of eleven counties in the United States:
Kansas i/ˈkænzəs/ is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe's name (natively kką:ze) is often said to mean "people of the wind" or "people of the south wind", although this was probably not the term's original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called "Kansans". For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison. Kansas was first settled by European Americans in the 1830s, but the pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political wars over the slavery issue.
When it was officially opened to settlement by the U.S. government in 1854, abolitionist Free-Staters from New England and pro-slavery settlers from neighboring Missouri rushed to the territory to determine whether Kansas would become a free state or a slave state. Thus, the area was a hotbed of violence and chaos in its early days as these forces collided, and was known as Bleeding Kansas. The abolitionists eventually prevailed, and on January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as a free state. After the Civil War, the population of Kansas grew rapidly when waves of immigrants turned the prairie into farmland. Today, Kansas is one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. Kansas is the 15th most extensive and the 34th most populous of the 50 United States.

Crawford County (county code CR) is a county located in Southeast Kansas. As of the 2010 census, the county population was 39,134. Its county seat is Girard, and its most populous city is Pittsburg. The county was named in honor of Samuel J. Crawford,Governor of Kansas.
The Pittsburg Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Crawford County.
Located in the Osage Cuestas and Cherokee Lowlands, it lies halfway between Kansas City, Missouri and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Crawford County, and much of southeast Kansas, was founded on coal mining, the Pittsburg-Weir Coalfield being located here, and is still known for mining today. Pittsburg State University is located in Crawford County.
Crawford County was established in 1867. It is named for Samuel J. Crawford, who was the governor in office at the time of the county's establishment.
On Sunday, May 4, 2003, a strong and violent F4 tornado touched down in western Crawford County, several miles west of Frontenac at around 4:40 p.m. The tornado remained on the ground throughout Crawford County until it entered neighboring Barton County, Missouri—traveling a total of 35 miles (56 km) and ending near Liberal, Missouri. The towns of Ringo, Franklin, and Mulberry, all in Crawford County, were devastated. The tornado cut a path of destruction roughly one quarter mile wide. Several F4 and F5 tornadoes hit Kansas, Missouri, and several other states that day, including the Kansas City metropolitan area. Six deaths were reported in Kansas, and Governor Sebelius declared much of eastern and southeastern Kansas a disaster area, including Crawford County.
Crawford may refer to:
A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. The term is derived from the Old French conté or cunté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount. The modern French is comté, and its equivalents in other languages are contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, Gau, etc. (cf. conte, comte, conde, Graf).
When the Normans conquered England, they brought the term with them. The Saxons had already established the districts that became the historic counties of England, calling them shires (many county names derive from the name of the county town with the word "shire" added on: for example, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire). The Vikings introduced the term earl (from Old Norse, jarl) to the British Isles. Thus, "earl" and "earldom" were taken as equivalent to the continental use of "count" and "county". So the later-imported term became a synonym for the native English word scir ([ʃiːr]) or, in Modern English, shire. Since a shire was an administrative division of the kingdom, the term "county" evolved to designate an administrative division of national government in most modern uses.

Wow what a storm! On July 5, 2015 I was watching a developing storm way off in the distance. I decided to catch up to it which was like two counties away. Finally I caught up to it in parts of Crawford County, Kansas. The structure was incredible! It also was starting to rotate, and many things caught my eye. It produced a lot of neat cloud-to-ground lightning, and a gorgeous sight! Man oh man!

Case Number 14-10018 U.S. Distinct Court Crawford county 11th District Judge Lori Bolton Fleming sends yet ANOTHER USURPATION OF OFFICE EMAIL only that this time it is full of lies which then become the primary reason to deny Mr. Russian bail. This is how the judiciary operates and clearly how can anyone have any confidence in such an institution? Of course, all Judge Lori Bolton Fleming needs to do is produce tangible evidence that she was being stalked by Mr. Russian. The people refuse to accept her word because she lost credibility a long time ago.
Deep in the heartlands of America lies stretches of wheat and corn as far as the eye can see. For many portions of the Midwest, daily life revolves around farming and championing the All-American lifestyle. However, in one small section of Southeast Kansas, the rampant abuse, distribution, and manufacturing of Methamphetamine has brought the region to an ultimate tipping point, leaving civic leaders, law enforcement officials, and the general population to make some harsh and defining realizations.
