In nutrition, diet is the sum of food consumed by a person or other organism.
Dietary habits are the habitual decisions an individual or culture makes when choosing what foods to eat. The word diet often implies the use of specific intake of nutrition for health or weight-management reasons (with the two often being related). Although humans are omnivores, each culture and each person holds some food preferences or some food taboos. This may be due to personal tastes or ethical reasons. Individual dietary choices may be more or less healthy.
Complete nutrition requires ingestion and absorption of vitamins, minerals, and food energy in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Dietary habits and choices play a significant role in the quality of life, health and longevity.
Some cultures and religions have restrictions concerning what foods are acceptable in their diet. For example, only Kosher foods are permitted by Judaism, and Halal foods by Islam. Although Buddhists are generally vegetarians, the practice varies and meat-eating may be permitted depending on the sects. In Hinduism, vegetarianism is the ideal. Jains are strictly vegetarian and consumption of roots is not permitted.
Human nutrition refers to the provision of essential nutrients necessary to support human life and health. Generally, people can survive up to 40 days without food, a period largely depending on the amount of water consumed, stored body fat, muscle mass and genetic factors.
Poor nutrition is a chronic problem often linked to poverty, poor nutrition understanding and practices, and deficient sanitation and food security. Lack of proper nutrition contributes to lower academic performance, lower test scores, and eventually less successful students and a less productive and competitive economy.Malnutrition and its consequences are immense contributors to deaths and disabilities worldwide. Promoting good nutrition helps children grow, promotes human development and advances economic growth and eradication of poverty.
The human body contains chemical compounds, such as water, carbohydrates (sugar, starch, and fiber), amino acids (in proteins), fatty acids (in lipids), and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). These compounds consist of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, and so on. All the chemical compounds and elements contained in the human body occur in various forms and combinations such as hormones, vitamins, phospholipids and hydroxyapatite. These compounds are found in the human body and in the different types of organisms that humans eat.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, often abridged as Last Week Tonight, is an American late-night talk and news satire television program airing on Sundays on HBO in the United States and HBO Canada, and on Mondays (originally Tuesdays) on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom. The half-hour long show premiered on Sunday, April 27, 2014, and is hosted by comedian John Oliver. Last Week Tonight shares some similarities with Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where Oliver was previously featured as a correspondent and fill-in host, as it takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events on a weekly basis.
Oliver has said that he has full creative freedom, including free rein to criticize corporations. His initial contract with HBO was for two years with an option for extension. In February 2015, it was announced that the show has been renewed for two additional seasons of 35 episodes each. Oliver and HBO programming president Michael Lombardo have discussed extending the show from half an hour to a full hour and airing more than once a week after Oliver "gets his feet under him".

Dietary fiber or roughage is the indigestible portion of food derived from plants. It has two main components:
Dietary fibers can act by changing the nature of the contents of the gastrointestinal tract and by changing how other nutrients and chemicals are absorbed. Some types of soluble fiber absorb water to become a gelatinous, viscous substance which is fermented by bacteria in the digestive tract. Some types of insoluble fiber have bulking action and are not fermented.Lignin, a major dietary insoluble fiber source, may alter the rate and metabolism of soluble fibers. Other types of insoluble fiber, notably resistant starch, are fully fermented.
David Blackwell and Yana Trofimenko describe what a Dietary Aide is and what the work is like for MultiCare employees in that field. MultiCare Center for Healthy Living offers a variety of nutrition services for general wellness, weight management, and sports nutrition. In addition, we offer nutritional counseling for specific disease states, food allergies, disordered eating, and more.

Respectable researchers like Dr. David Katz of Yale believe that eggs and dietary cholesterol won't raise your blood cholesterol. He's done research that he says proves this. Look at that research, however, and you'll see it proves no such thing. There is good evidence that indicates that for those of us who have cholesterol levels like our ancient ancestors, dietary cholesterol will raise our cholesterol. You'll see that evidence in this video.

Reducing dietary fat and reducing carbohydrates is often debated. Which is better for fat loss. The study discussed in this video had an interesting result. Calories and protein were equal in both cases and a 30% drop in calories was made from either carbs or fats. https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/dietary-fat-vs-carbohydrate-reducing-body-fat

Step 1: Picture a plate Picture a plate divided into 4 sections -- fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein. Fruit and vegetables should fill half the plate, with veggies taking up a little more room than fruits; divide the other side between grains and protein, with grains getting a bit more space. Now envision a small cup next to your plate, marked "Dairy." Not soda. Dairy. In this podcast, I cover what I believe to be the five most dangerous dietary supplements. Fortunately, most dietary supplements are highly beneficial, and nutritional therapies are very powerful for preventing and even reversing disease for many people. But there are some dietary supplements that deserve a harsh warning: they may endanger your health rather than protecting it. Doesn't come down when she calls, "It's time for breakfast"
Momma can't get down those halls fast enough to see
Glass is sprayed across the floor from the broken window
She can't breathe anymore, can't deny what we know
They're gonna find you, just believe
You're not a person, you're a disease
All these lives that you've been taking
Deep inside, my heart is breaking
Broken homes from separation
Don't you know it's violation?
It's so wrong, but you'll see
Never gonna let you take my world from me
The world outside these walls may know you're breathing
But you ain't coming in, but you ain't coming in
Posters hung on building walls
Of missing faces
Months go by without the cause
The clues or traces
They're gonna find you, just believe
You're not a person, you're a disease
All these lives that you've been taking
Deep inside, my heart is breaking
Broken homes from separation
Don't you know it's violation?
It's so wrong, but you'll see
Never gonna let you take my world from me
The world outside these walls may know you're breathing
But you ain't coming in
Shed the light on all the ones
Who never thought they would become
A father, mother asking
Why this world can be so cold?
Doesn't come down when she calls
"It's time for breakfast"
The memories begin to fall
She asks, "When will I be free?"
All these lives that you've been taking
Deep inside, my heart is breaking
Broken homes from separation
Don't you know it's violation?
It's so wrong, but you'll see
Never gonna let you take my world from me
The world outside these walls may know you're breathing
