Tom Cruise Is Still A Winner In Box Office
Hey everyone I am Diana Madison for Hollyscoop. No mission is impossible for Tom Cruise whos movie Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol debuted in third place at the box office.
"Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol" made $13 million at the box office over the weekend which was only released in limited theatres.
That means the per-screen average for the latest Ethan Hunt adventure was a very impressive $30,588. That makes it the highest-grossing limited release of all time, according to Box Office Mojo. And that tells us a few things:
Meanwhile Tom spent his weekend celebrating his wife Katie Holmes birthday in New York City. Tom, Suri and Katie were spotted celebrating katies 33rd birthday with her parents at at upscale Asian restaurant Buddakan.
Seems like it was a lucky weekend for the Hollywood family.

'Madagascar 3' Rules World Box-Office
"Madagascar 3" opened as the top film at U.S. box offices with $60.4 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters, edging out "Prometheus," a science-fiction thriller from Ridley Scott."Prometheus," from News Corp. (NWSA)'s Twentieth Century Fox, the weekend's only other new film in wide release, had $50 million in ticket sales, researcher Hollywood.com Box-Office said in an e-mailed statement."Madagascar 3" sales beat the $53.8 million estimate of Box Office Mojo although were less than the $63.1 million opening of "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa," released in 2008. The animated 3-D movie received a marketing boost from a popular Nickelodeon TV show based on the penguin characters and ads featuring Chris Rock as a zebra performing a circus tune, Ben Carlson, co-founder of the research firm Fizziology, said in a June 7 interview. The film has little competition for family audiences until Disney (DIS)'s "Brave" on June 22.

Tre Sbirri Une Carrozza Sung by Nelson Martinez - Tosca - 25 & 26 February 2012 @ Colony Theater Miami Beach
Tickets for Tosca are $30 & $35 from Ticketmaster and the Colony Theater Box Office. Cast includes: Jennifer Harris, Enrique Pina, Nelson Martinez, Diego Baner, Jorge Arcila, Jared Peroune & Ismael Gonzalez. Doris Lang Kosloff, conductor. Raffaele Cardone, Artistic and & General Director. Video by Ken English, http://mediamojoguy.com.
ACT I. Cesare Angelotti (Diego Baner), an escaped political prisoner, rushes into the church of Sant' Andrea della Valle to hide in the Attavanti chapel. As he vanishes, an old Sacristan (Jorge Arcila) shuffles in, praying at the sound of the Angelus. Mario Cavaradossi (Enrique Pina) enters to work on his portrait of Mary Magdalene - inspired by the Marchesa Attavanti (Angelotti's sister), whom he has seen but does not know. Taking out a miniature of the singer Floria Tosca (Jennifer Harris), he compares her raven beauty with that of the blonde Magdalene ("Recondita armonia"). The Sacristan (Jorge Arcila) grumbles disapproval and leaves. Angelotti (Diego Baner) ventures out and is recognized by his friend and fellow liberal Mario (Enrique Pina), who gives him food and hurries him back into the chapel as Tosca (Jennifer Harris) is heard calling outside. Forever suspicious, she jealously questions him, then prays, and reminds him of their rendezvous that evening at his villa ("Non la sospiri la nostra casetta?"). Suddenly recognizing the Marchesa Attavanti in the painting, she explodes with renewed suspicions, but he reassures her ("Qual' occhio al mondo"). When she has gone, Mario summons Angelotti (Diego Baner) from the chapel; a cannon signals that the police have discovered the escape, so the two flee to Mario's villa. Meanwhile, the Sacristan (Jorge Arcila) returns with choirboys who are to sing in a Te Deum that day. Their excitement is silenced by the entrance of Baron Scarpia (Nelson Martinez), chief of the secret police, in search of Angelotti (Diego Baner). When Tosca (Jennifer Harris) comes back to her lover, Scarpia (Nelson Martinez) shows her a fan with the Attavanti crest, which he has just found. Thinking Mario (Enrique Pina) faithless, Tosca (Jennifer Harris) tearfully vows vengeance and leaves as the church fills with worshipers. Scarpia (Nelson Martinez), sending his men to follow her to Angelotti, schemes to get the diva in his power ("Va, Tosca!").

Ann Cole - Nobody But Me (Sir 272)
fliped with ''That's Enough'' issued on Sir Records in 1959
ANN COLE
Born Cynthia Coleman, 24 or 29 January 1934, Newark, New Jersey
Died November 1986, Newark, New Jersey
Cynthia Coleman's father, Wallace, was a member of a famous spiritual group, the Coleman Brothers. Cynthia formed her own spiritual group in 1949, the Colemanaires (Cynthia Coleman, Joe Walker, Sam Walker and Wesley Johnson). This family group travelled throughout the USA and made appearances in a number of major cities, with Cynthia doing most of the group's lead singing. They released five gospel singles in 1953-54, four for the Timely label and one for Apollo. In 1954, Cynthia made her first (secular) solo recordings, credited to Ann Cole, for Timely Records. Sales and distribution were poor, but one person who was impressed by Ann's voice was Sol Rabinowitz of Baton Records in New York City. He spent an entire year trying to find the obscure singer and finally succeeded. In Sol's own words:
"I met Ann Cole for the first time in a bar in Paterson, New Jersey, and we hit it off. She was accompanying herself on the piano and singing her heart out six hours a night for the princely sum of $ 50 per week. Her voice was so hoarse she had trouble speaking. We met again at my office and after determining she was free of her previous record company, signed a long term contract. At her request I promised to do what I could as her manager, but I refused to take commissions."
Ann's first release on Baton was "Are You Satisfied" (a cover of a country number by Sheb Wooley), featuring the immediately recognizable guitar work of Mickey Baker, who plays on most of her Baton recordings. It went to # 10 on Billboard's R&B; charts in January 1956. The fourth Baton single, "In the Chapel" (1957), also charted (# 14). However, these two hits are not the recordings for which she will be remembered. Though the song is usually associated with Muddy Waters, it was Ann Cole who recorded the original version of "Got My Mojo Working" (Baton 237) on January 27, 1957. On a month-long tour through the South together, Ann sang with Muddy's band. "Mojo" had not yet been released, but in spite of Sol Rabonowitz's warning not to sing unreleased material, Ann taught Muddy's band the song and performed it regularly during the tour. Muddy liked the song so much that he asked Leonard Chess to let him record it himself. Chess, who didn't know anything about the Ann Cole recording, gave the Waters record a rush release and both versions came out in the same week. The difference in the lyrics between the two versions resulted from Muddy's inability to remember the original words (written by Preston Foster). Waters claimed to have written the song. Eventually the matter went to court, where it was ruled that Foster was the composer. But the two versions are still separately copyrighted. See also the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Got_My_Mojo_Working Ann was voted "Most Promising New Female R&B; Vocalist" by Cash Box in 1956. The next year she appeared on a Fats Domino record. For decades, Domino fans have wondered who the female voice on "When I See You" was, but now there seems to be general consensus that it is Ann Cole. After leaving Baton in 1958, Ann recorded for Sir Records (1959), MGM (1960) and Roulette (1962). Her sole Roulette single was a double sided hit. "Have Fun" peaked at # 21 on the R&B; charts, while "Don't Stop the Wedding" (an answer to Etta James's "Stop the Wedding") was a pop hit for one week (# 99). Not long thereafter, Cole had a serious car accident, which confined her to a wheelchair. That was the premature ending of the musical career of a great R&B; vocalist, who was ahead of her time. Especially her Baton recordings still sound very good to me. Eight of these have been collected on the CD "The Baton Label : Sol's Story" (Ace 505), including of course "Got My Mojo Working".
According to the Social Security Death Index, she died in November 1986. Her birth date is given there as January 29, 1934, which is probably the correct date (all other sources say January 24, but they all copy each other as likely as not).

The Apparition - The Movie Review (2012) *SPOILERS*
The Apparition is a 2012 American horror film written and directed by Todd Lincoln and starring Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill and Luke Pasqualino. The Apparition is a box office bomb. The film only came in at #12 on its opening weekend at the box office, with a gross of $2.84 million. According to Box Office Mojo, "With the unusually-low theater count and a practically non-existent marketing effort, it's clear Warner Bros. was trying to bury this movie, and they appear to have succeeded." As of September 7, 2012, it grossed $4.5 million.

Robert Pattinson Cosmopolis Movie off to Solid Start
Directed by David Cronenberg and starring Robert Pattinson, Cosmopolis opened to solid box-office numbers in the United States. Whether because of the recent Kristen Stewart / Rupert Sanders "cheating scandal" — Pattinson, as Stewart's reported boyfriend, became enmeshed in the media sewer — or because of several key positive reviews, or a combination of both, Cosmopolis took in a respectable $72,300 at three locations this weekend, Aug. 17-19, according to studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo.
As a result, Cosmopolis' per-theater average was the highest on Box Office Mojo's (incomplete) weekend chart: $24,100. That's quite remarkable for a film that panders neither to its audience nor to its critics. The distributor is eOne Films, a subsidiary of the Canadian-based conglomerate Entertainment One.
Now, to compare Cosmopolis' per-theater average to those of fare such as The King's Speech ($355,450 at four theaters), Moonrise Kingdom ($130,749 at four theaters), or The Kids Are All Right ($70,282 at seven theaters) would be ludicrous. Unlike David Cronenberg's effort, those movies — distributed by well-established US-based companies (Focus Features, The Weinstein Company) — are highly accessible crowd pleasers. Cosmopolis, on the other hand, is anything but. Even Cronenberg's own A Dangerous Method ($41,988 at four locations last year) was a much more accessible film.
