The Lachrimae pavan was evidently a bona fide 'hit' of its age, around 1604. There are many settings for this piece from Dowlands hand. Most known are the Consort setting called 'Flow my teares'. I love this music; the sadness, desperation and yet... hope for a better life. This is from me to all you out there, telling it's hope! This is my first AMV of my favorite anime 'Grave of the Fireflies'. The song I chose is the classical piano piece 'Pavane pour une infante defunte' (Pavane for a dead princess) by Ravel. It's one of my favorite classical pieces and I think it fits really well with the tragic story of Setsuko. Unfortunately I had to edit the song, because it is originally about 6,5 mins long.
