~~ Review Script ~~
Ivan Reitman, the man responsible for Ghostbusters, Kindergarten Cop, and Space Jam brought us "Dave" in May of 1993 - which earned over sixty million at the American box office. The whimsical plot follows Academy Award winner Kevin Kline as the title character, a presidential impersonator who suddenly finds himself doubling for real Commander-in-Chief (also portrayed by Kline) after he falls into an unexpected coma. Rather than risk a nasty political scandal, the president's staff decides to let this average patsy maintain the charade - and for all intents and purposes, act as president. This narrative intertwines with Dave becoming romantically involved with the First Lady, who unbelievably, doesn't recognize her own husband. The 110 minute film is heavily satirical, with Dave's friend remarking, "you could get in so much trouble", "from who? I'm the government!" the acting POTUS retorts back. The tremendous supporting cast here solidly elevates this film from a flimsy premise to, reportedly, a fan-favorite of the then real life President Clinton. Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Dunn, Ving Rhames, Ben Kingsley, and Laura Linney (in her second-ever role) bring much of the fun, yet often dramatic dialog to life more than convincingly. These are real characters with actual problems you begin to feel for by the picture's close. The stand-out performer in the group though, besides Kline - who never fails to impress - is the snarky and mean-spirited Frank Langella as the Chief Of Staff: his determination to thwart Dave's good-intentions and maintain his ridiculous prop government make for a great villain you'll love rooting against. When he challenges the impostor-President to cut the federal budget, Dave follows through and calls his bluff in a truly enjoyable scene: one that's rife with great political commentary too. It makes you wonder, if we just had a regular guy running the show, would he too be able to cut through the crap, and fairly run this country from a grounded moral standpoint? "Dave" is hardly a landmark achievement by any stretch, but every time I happen upon it while channel surfing, I can't help but stop and watch the remainder. The quick-moving and entertaining tale is backed by a playful score by James Newton Howard that knows when to play things light, and when not to. Littered with dozens of "as themselves" cameos from Jay Leno and Chris Matthews to Senator Chris Dodd and Speaker O'Neill, this film's style and delivery is seemingly realistic, even if the White House represented here isn't particularly accurate: looking more like a New York museum than the Executive Mansion in some scenes. An addictively fun movie that's is able to convincingly pull off a rather ridiculous premise, "Dave": "Enjoyable political commentary, hilarious concept"

Film Description: The ghost of Frank Capra must have smiled when he saw Dave, an amusing and effective update of one of Capra's favorite themes -- the scrupulously honest little guy who becomes a force for good against a corrupt system. Dave Kovic (Kevin Kline) runs an employment agency and seems to genuinely enjoy finding work for people who need it. He also bears a striking resemblance to the president of the United States, Bill Mitchell (also played by Kline) and occasionally gets work as a Bill Mitchell impersonator. One day, Dave gets a call from the Secret Service -- for security purposes, they want to hire him to act as a decoy for an upcoming appearance by the president. All goes well, but later that evening President Mitchell suffers a massive stroke while in bed with his mistress. Wanting to keep the matter a secret, two of the president's top advisors appeal to Dave to stand in as Bill Mitchell until he regains his health. One of the men behind this scheme, Bob Alexander (Frank Langella), hopes to use Mitchell's absence to promote his own right-wing political agenda, but after a few weeks "in office," Dave decides it's time to promote some changes of his own that will help increase employment and keep homeless shelters open. Dave also finds himself growing fond of Ellen Mitchell (Sigourney Weaver), the President's wife, while Ellen sees in Dave the idealism her husband left behind years ago. Dave features numerous cameo appearances by politicians, Washington insiders, and journalists; Oliver Stone also appears to explain a conspiracy theory regarding sudden changes in Bill Mitchell's behavior.

Dave - Trailer
Just who runs this country anyway? For comedy fans, the answer is - Dave. KEVIN KLINE (A Fish Called Wanda, In & Out) and SIGOURNEY WEAVER (Working Girl, Ghostbusters) star in this box-office winner about an uncanny Presidential lookalike named Dave, who's recruited by the Secret Service to become a momentary stand-in for the President of the United States. However, things don't turn out exactly as planned and Dave finds himself continuing his masquerade as Chief Executive indefinitely...IVAN REITMAN (Ghostbusters and 6 Days, 7 Nights) directs and supporting players FRANK LANGELLA, VING RHAMES, BEN KINGSLEY and CHARLES GRODIN supply more reasons to stand up and cheer. Many real-life Washington politicos and pundits join the fun as Dave uses ordinary-guy savvy to deal with the extraordinary responsibilities of the Oval Office. "Hilarious fun. Dave wins a landslide of laughter." - Susan Wloszczyna, USA TODAY MPAA Rating: PG-13 Copyright 1993 Warner Brothers. All rights reserved.

Into The Mind - Official Teaser
From the makers of All.I.Can comes the new feature film: INTO THE MIND

Blur the lines between dream state and reality, as you perceive the world through the minds of many. Into the Mind contemplates the experiences passed between mentors and peers to paint a philosophical portrait of human kind. What drives us to overcome challenge? How do we justify risk? What forces are at the core of a mountain addiction? Unique athlete segments over a multitude of mountain sport genres depict the connectivity of Earth, and window into never seen before moments. Explore how we begin our perception of self, construct the foundations of confidence, and are ultimately led up the path of self-actualization.
As Buddha once said, “The mind is everything. What you think you become.”
Into The Mind is about becoming.

1993 - Dave Mustaine Calls End To Metallica Fued.
Still working on the title. Dave Mustaine tells the fans that "10 years of bullshit is over between Megadeth and Metallica," during one of the gigs (Milton Keynes, 1993) when Megadeth supported Metallica. Grabbed from the audio bootleg of said show + a pic from said show.
So, just another "Dave Mustaine On Metallica..." Videos, but it's fair interesting, also recaps Milton Keynes 1993 and that era for Megadeth & Metallica.
