Avra Velis better known as Avra, is a multi award winning Greek-Australian alternative-pop singer-songwriter, actress, dancer, and record producer. She is noted for her ambitious music videos and stage performances as well as her intricate and provocative lyrics.
Since her debut in 1982, Avra has released numerous singles and albums. She has also written and appeared in several theatre productions and stage performances, including the Melbourne Fringe Festival
Avra was born in Brisbane, Queensland. She was the only child born to Greek-Australian parents who immigrated from Kythera and Ithaca.
She was raised in an eccentric Greek environment in the northern Brisbane suburb of Hendra.
Avra's mother encouraged her renegade passion for the arts from an early age, enrolling her in after school piano lessons, speech and drama classes, whilst also studying Greek language and culture. In addition to all of this she also took Avra to see numerous theatre productions, often three per week. Shows she saw included Liberace, Dame Joan Sutherland, Billy Joel, Lindsay Kemp and a myriad of other internationally acclaimed artists, each leaving a profound and indelible impression on the young Avra.
Chroma key compositing, or chroma keying, is a special effects / post-production technique for compositing (layering) two images or video streams together, used heavily in many fields to remove a background from the subject of a photo or video - particularly the newscasting, motion picture and videogame industries. A color range in the top layer is made transparent, revealing another image behind. The chroma keying technique is commonly used in video production and post-production. This technique is also referred to as color keying, colour-separation overlay (CSO; primarily by the BBC), or by various terms for specific color-related variants such as green screen, and blue screen - chroma keying can be done with backgrounds of any color that are uniform and distinct, but green and blue backgrounds are more commonly used because they differ most distinctly in hue from most human skin colors and no part of the subject being filmed or photographed may duplicate a color used in the background. It is commonly used for weather forecast broadcasts, wherein the news presenter appears to be standing in front of a large map during live television newscasts, though in actuality it is a large blue or green background. When using a blue screen, different weather maps are added on the parts of the image where the color is blue. If the news presenter wears blue clothes, his clothes will also be replaced with the background video. A complementary system is used for green screens. Chroma keying is also used in the entertainment industry for special effects in movies and videogames. The advanced state of the technology and much commercially available computer software, such as Pinnacle Studio, Adobe Premiere, and dozens of other computer programs, makes it possible and relatively easy for the average home computer user to create videos using the "chromakey" function and easily affordable greenscreen or bluescreen kits.

Witness the Color of Will
Hal Jordan: When you shape the light of your ring, you walk in the footsteps of the first Lantern.
Kilowog: Ardakian Trawl, do you realize you got patrol?::Ardakian Trawl: Oh, and I thought I was coming 500 million light-years to give you a sponge bath, Kilowog.::Kilowog: Knock it off, you poozer.::Ardakian Trawl: I'm in your star system, so quit flaring your nostrils.
Deegan: Poozers are what I call useless, stupid, stinking rookies like Brilowog here.::Bolphunga: Kilowog, sir.::Deegan: Did you just say something, Brilobutt?::Bolphunga: No, sir. Sorry, sir.::Deegan: You're whoever I say you are!
Deegan: In brightest day, In blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. You freaking bastards!
Laira: [to Kentor] I came here hoping that Ree'yu and Rubyn were responsible for Jayd's atrocities, hoping that you were still the man that once tucked his daughter in at night, but you are no longer that man, and I am a Green Lantern.
Bolphunga: Poor Kluba Vud. You seem to be completely, heh, disarmed. And once I have your head, I, Bolpphunga, shall be proclaimed the greatest warrior in the galaxy.::Kloba Vud: Except for Mogo.::Bolphunga: What? What did you say?::Kloba Vud: Except for Mogo. Not only is he mightier than you, he is also a... A Green Lantern.::Bolphunga: Ha. I fear no Lantern.::Kloba Vud: You'd fear this one. He's the most powerful Lantern of them all. Never defeated. A cosmic legend.::Bolphunga: Never heard of him.
Arisia: I guess this is the blackest night everyone talks about.::Sinestro: No, my dear. Only dusk.
Arisia: [about Mogo] He might not socialize, but he sure knows how make an entrance.
Sinestro: It appears you fulfilled the prophecy of Oa's destruction. Not only a hero, but some might say an agent of destiny.::Kilowog: You did good out there, rookie.::Arisia: Does this mean I get to skip boot camp?::Kilowog: Not a chance, poozer.
Arisia: Where's everyone going?::Hal Jordan: We got a new home to build. Come on. I'll tell you about the time I took on an army of Manhunters and my only backup was this squirrel.
