The Wall Street Journal Asia, a version of The Wall Street Journal provides news and analysis of global business developments for an Asian audience. It was founded in 1976 and is printed in nine Asian cities: Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo. Average circulation for the first half of 2008 was 80,706. Its largest markets in order of importance are: Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, India and Vietnam.

The paper's main regional office is in Hong Kong, and its former Editor, International is Daniel Hertzberg.

The first editor and publisher of the Asian Journal was Peter R. Kann, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Dow Jones & Company.

A generally accepted version is that the name of the street name was derived from an earthen wall on the northern boundary of the New Amsterdam settlement, perhaps to protect against English colonial encroachment or incursions by native Americans. A conflicting explanation is that Wall Street was named after Walloons -- possibly a Dutch abbreviation for Walloon being Waal. Among the first settlers that embarked on the ship "Nieu Nederlandt" in 1624 were 30 Walloon families.

Robert Arthur "Rob" Kardashian (born March 17, 1987) is an American television personality, model, socialite and businessman. Lee Hawkins was an American State Senator from Gainesville, Georgia. He was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2006 and 2008. After his first term, he was chosen to serve as Chairman of State and Local Government Operations. He was also recognized as Legislator of the Year and various other recognitions by associations such as the Georgia Pharmacy Association, the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, the Georgia Free Clinics, Johnson and Johnson Retirees, among others.

Hawkins has served his profession as President of the Georgia Dental Association and has been recognized as an Honorable Fellow and selected to the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentistry, and the American College of Dentists.

In 2010, Senator Hawkins finished second in a field of nine candidates for U.S. Congress.
