A stunt performer, often referred to as a stuntman, or daredevil, is someone who performs dangerous stunts, often as a career.

A stuntman typically performs stunts intended for use in a motion pictures or dramatized television. Stunts are sometimes rigged so that, while they look dangerous, safety mechanisms are built into the performance, however, often stunts are as dangerous as they appear to be. Stunts often seen in films and television include car crashes, falls from great height, drags (for example, behind a horse) and explosions. Film and television stunt performers are often trained in martial arts and stage combat. There is an inherent risk in the performance of all stunt work in film, television and stage work; the most risk exists when performing stunts in front of a live audience. In filmed performances, visible safety mechanisms can be removed by editing. In live performances the audience can better see if the performer is genuinely doing what they claim to be doing.

Daredevils are distinct from stunt performers and stunt doubles; their performance is of the stunt itself, without the context of a film or television show. Daredevils often perform for an audience.Live stunt performers include escape artists, sword swallowers, glass walkers, fire eaters, trapeze artists, and many other sideshow and circus arts. They also include motorcycle display teams and the once popular Wall of Death.

Some individuals, such as Harry Houdini, Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa, and Jayan, act as both stunt performers and daredevils at various parts of their career.

Modern live stunt performers include escape artist and stuntman Roslyn Walker and sideshow veteran Kondini.

Kenneth Colin Bland, (born 5 April 1938 in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia) was a cricketer who played for South Africa.

Bland originally came from Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe but then not a Test cricket- playing nation. He also played for the South African provincial sides Eastern Province and Orange Free State.^[1] A tall and elegant right-handed batsman, Bland broke into the South African Test team in 1961, and was a regular until 1966. As South Africa in the apartheid era played Test cricket only against England, Australia and New Zealand, his career was restricted to just 21 Tests, in which he scored 1,669 runs, including three centuries.

Bland's chief fame, though, rested on his fielding. By common consent the finest cover fieldsman of his time, and rated by some as the finest ever, he was able to the turn the course of whole matches. His spectacular run out of Ken Barrington in the Lord's Test of 1965, followed by a similar dismissal of Jim Parks, may have prevented England from establishing a match-winning first innings lead, the match eventually being drawn.^[2]

Bland was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1966.

For Real was an American R&B and soul quartet, that formed in 1993.^[1] In the latter part of that decade they were nominated for a Grammy, Billboard Music Award, and Soul Train Music Award.

For Real secured their recording contract by accident. "We were picking up our manager from the airport. So we decided to greet him with an acappella song. Someone from A&M Records just happened to be in the airport and heard them perform. Not long after, they were signed," said Latanyia Baldwin.^[2]

The band released their debut album, It's a Natural Thang, with production from Brian McKnight on A&M Records in 1994, and it became a critical success, including a rare four stars from Rolling Stone magazine.^[3] Their first single, "You Don't Wanna Miss" hit #28 on the Billboard chart, courtesy of a danceable new jack swing remix by Steve "Silk" Hurley, which was featured in the song's video. A second single, "Easy to Love", peaked at #65 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album scored another chart hit with the a cappella love song, "You Don't Know Nothin'", which was written and produced by Mervyn Warren, and which peaked at #27. The song peaked at #54 in the UK Singles Chart in July 1995.^[4] The album sold over one million copies worldwide, and peaked at #80 on the Billboard 200.

In 1995, the band appeared in Italian Vogue, modeling men's suits. They toured alongside Stevie Wonder,^[5] and lent their voices to the Martin Scorsese film project Grace of My Heart. The foursome also forayed into acting with appearances in the film Shake, Rattle and Rock! starring Renée Zellweger and Howie Mandel^[6] on Showtime.

They also hit the US Top 20 with the single "Freedom (Theme from Panther)" featuring Aaliyah, TLC, En Vogue, BlackGirl, SWV, and Vanessa Williams from the film Panther. They also recorded a duet with Stevie Wonder called "Stubborn Kind of Fellow", which appeared on the Marvin Gaye tribute album, Inner City Blues: The Music of Marvin Gaye.^[7] For Real also recorded songs for the soundtracks of the films Waiting to Exhale and Fled.

After a label change from A&M to Dallas Austin's Arista imprint Rowdy Records in 1996, For Real struck again with the Austin-produced, 60s-leaning single "Like I Do", from their second album Free. "Like I Do" hit #10 on the Billboard singles chart. The video also earned a Billboard nomination for Best R&B Clip; the album made the Top 100, and sold nearly 400,000 copies in the US. The album's next and last single was the Diane Warren-penned pop ballad "The Saddest Song I Ever Heard" which hit #65 on the Top 100 singles chart. The band performed "Saddest Song" on the TV series All That. Free included production from top R&B/pop producers like Babyface, Mario Winans, and Jon B..

The band also recorded three songs ("I Do", "Born to Love That Boy" and "Unwanted Number") and appeared in the critically acclaimed film Grace of My Heart. The film's soundstrack won a Satellite Award in 1997.^[9][10]

In January 1997, the band won an American Music Award for their work on the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, in Summer 1997, the group earned a Soul Train Award nomination for Album of the Year (By a Group, Band or Duo) for Free.

In 1999, Wendi Williams lent her voice to the Emmy-winning film Introducing Dorothy Dandridge with Halle Berry, in which Berry plays a singer but Williams is behind her singing voice.^[11]

In 2002, their song "Love Will Be Waiting at Home" appeared in the film Two Can Play That Game, which starred Vivica A. Fox and Morris Chestnut.

In 2009, CoryLavel began to work with Josina Elder on her new album.

Joel Edgerton (born 23 June 1974) is an Australian film and television actor. He is known for his roles in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Animal Kingdom, The Thing, Warrior and as Tom Buchanan in the upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

Edgerton was born in Blacktown, Sydney, to a homemaker mother and a solicitor/property developer father, Michael.^[1][2] His brother, Nash Edgerton, is a stuntman and filmmaker.^[3] Edgerton graduated from The Hills Grammar School in 1991.

Edgerton attended the Nepean Drama School at the University of Western Sydney^[4] before moving on to various stage productions, most notably at Sydney Theatre Company – Blackrock, Third World Blues and Love for Love – and Bell Shakespeare – Henry V – as well as television series.

He has appeared in such films as Erskineville Kings, King Arthur, Ned Kelly, and, most notably, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, portraying a young Owen Lars, stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker and uncle to Luke Skywalker. Edgerton's brother Nash was the stunt double for Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.^[5] He is known for playing the role of Will on the series The Secret Life of Us for which he was nominated for an AFI award.

In 2005, he lent his voice to the title character of The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello, an Academy Award-nominated animated short film. The same year, Edgerton appeared in the British comedy Kinky Boots, in a lead role alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, as the son of a deceased shoe maker who must find a niche market in the 21st century. He also had a significant role in the 2006 American film Smokin' Aces.

Edgerton was seen in the film Whisper with Josh Holloway in 2007;^[6] The Square, which he co-wrote and was directed by his brother Nash; Acolytes, an Australian film about teenagers who get revenge on a serial killer; and Separation City, a comedy-drama which follows the collapse of two marriages.^[7] In 2009, he starred alongside Cate Blanchett as Stanley in the Sydney Theatre Company's acclaimed production of A Streetcar Named Desire.^[8] Edgerton and Blanchett also appeared in a production of this play at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in December 2009.^[9]

Edgerton had a major role in the MMA movie Warrior, which received a 2011 release through Lions Gate Entertainment.^[10] Edgerton played the son of Nick Nolte's character and older brother of Tom Hardy's character, Joel also has a black belt in Karate.^[11] On 7 February 2010, he was cast in Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.'s 2011 prequel to The Thing,^[12] portraying helicopter pilot Sam Carter.^[13]

In 2011, Edgerton was cast as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's 2012 remake of The Great Gatsby.
