Challenger Disaster Live on CNN
January 28th, 1986 at 11:39am EDT - The Space Shuttle Challenger Explodes on its 10th flight during mission STS-51-L. The explosion occurred 73 seconds after liftoff and was actually the result of rapid deceleration and not combustion of fuel.
CNN was the only national news station to broadcast the mission live, so thus what you are witnessing on this video is the only coverage of the disaster as it happened when it did. Approximately 17% of Americans witnessed the launch live, while 85% of Americans heard of the news within 1 hour of the event. According to a study, only 2 other times in history up to that point had news of an event disseminated so fast - the first being the announcement of JFK's assassination in 1963, the second being news spread among students at Kent State regarding the news of FDR's death in 1945. It has been estimated at the time that nearly 48% of 9-13 year olds witnessed the event in their classrooms, as McAuliffe was in the spotlight.
The 25th Space Shuttle mission altered the history of manned space exploration and represented the first loss of an American crew during a space mission (Apollo 1 was during a training exercise).
Christa McAuliffe was slated to be the first teacher in space for the Teacher in Space Program. As her maximum altitude was ~65,000ft (12.31 miles), she never made it to space. That title was given to Barbara Morgan of STS-118 aboard the shuttle Endeavour in August 2007, 22 and a half years after the Challenger Disaster. Morgan served as McAuliffe's backup during STS-51-L. As Morgan is now part of the Educator in Space Program, she will be credited as the first "educator" in space, to distinguish her from McAuliffe.
Aboard Challenger during STS-51-L:
Francis "Dick" Scobee (Commander)
Michael Smith (Pilot)
Judith Resnik (Mission Specialist)
Ellison Onizuka (Mission Specialist)
Ronald McNair (Mission Specialist)
Gregory Jarvis (Payload Specialist)
Sharon Christa McAuliffe (Payload Specialist - Teacher in Space)

NYC 1983 and 1986 original footage
In 1983 and 1986 I filmed some scenes on the touristic places like Broadway, Time Square, Staten Island Ferries and Central Park, not spectacular, but a good feeling for the 80s in NYC. In 1983 I came to NYC for first time and filmed with my Bolex spring mechanism motor camera, no scene able more than 22 seconds, at some Kodak and Fuji 30m rolls of 16mm films. In 1986 at my second visit I was using a big ARRIFLEX ST 16mm camera with better lenses and a integrated light meter. Both footage ist scanned in the year of origin smart analog to 2" Ampex tape, later in the 90s copied to BETA analog and later to BETA digital, at least to a mpeg file in my computer. The sound was recorded with a SONY WM-D6C in Dolby C. Thank you to Judy for telecine & color correction and Marion for the original sound recording.
Two details: the countdown on the Fuji neon is for the Los Angeles Olympics and the movie recording on Broadway is for a commercial for the new Musical "Chorus Line". Some street scenes are mixed with radio edits from original 1986 New York radio station recordings.
Dont miss my other NYC original footage in my channel, a view from the roof of the WTC in 1986, a look in the subway stations 42nd St and Time Square and a visit at the Chinese market in China Town NYC,

Queen - Live Wembley Stadium FRIDAY 1986 FULL CONCERT (London, England HD 1080p RARE)
Saturday concert!!! (ALSO BY ME): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zJtUF3XhJs
Before the very well known concert at Wembley Stadium in the summer of the 1986 there was a first night which was held on Friday. This night during the middle of the concert it started to rain. Even though the concert was wet Queen still gave an amazing performance. During Brian's guitar solo if you listen to the background carefully you can hear drops which means it was starting to rain. In Love of My Life you can definately notice the rain now. Originally some footage of this concert was released in 2003, but now we have the chance to experience a complete version. It does not have many overdubs so it's priceless. There are not many cameras on this night, but who cares with such a great performance.

QUEEN - Under Pressure (Live At Wembley Stadium 1986)
Mm ba ba de
Um bum ba de
Um bu bu bum da de
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure that brings a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
Um ba ba be
Um ba ba be
De day da
Ee day da - that's okay
It's the terror of knowing
What the world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow gets me higher
Pressure on people people on streets
Day day de mm hm
Da da da ba ba
Okay
Chippin' around - kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours
Ee do ba be
Ee da ba ba ba
Um bo bo
Be lap
People on streets - ee da de da de
People on streets - ee da de da de da de da
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher higher high
Pressure on people people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why - why - why?
Love love love love love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're breaking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance
Why can't we give love that one more chance
Why can't we give love give love give love give love
give love give love give love give love give love
'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the (People on streets) edge of the night
And loves (People on streets) dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves

Locked in a Vegas Hotel Room with a Phantom Flex
I was working a gig in Vegas with a brand new Phantom Flex high speed digital cinema camera. I had to try it out. In fact, I never did go to bed that night. I opened up a wormhole shooting at 2,564 frames per second.

History of Gaming
This is a university video-project made by "Game Design"-students from munich.
Done in a single-shot fashion...well almost single shot =)
The film covers different eras of the video-game history.
Took us a week to organise the various props (controllers, monitors. lighting, camera, etc.), two whole days to film and several days of postproduction.
It isn't perfect, but hopefully fun to watch nevertheless ,)
Games:
Tennis for Two, Oscilloscope, 1958
Pacman, Arcade, 1980
Donkey Kong, NES, 1986
Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, 1991
Street Fighter II. SNES, 1991
Super Mario 64, Nintendo 64, 1996
Final Fantasy VII, Sony Playstation, 1997
Need for Speed: Hot Pursiut 2, Sony Playstation 2, 2002
Ecco the Dolphin, Sega Dreamcast, 2000
Super Smash Bros. Melee, Nintendo Game Cube, 2001
Wii Sports Golf, Nintendo Wii, 2006
God of War III, Sony Playstation 3, 2010
Rock Band, XBox 360, 2008

Additional Special Thanks To:
Lena Hartl for having the guts to lend us her cam =)
Comments appreciated
Thanks for watching! Keep on gaming...
//EDIT:
We're quite aware that we could have used more games or different games but we just wanted to show a small insight into the history of videogames that just shows how far we've come and where our roots are buried.
A small FAQ:
There are Playstation 1,2 and 3 devices, just pay close attention or read the credits =)
I noticed that many of you are missing the XBox and Halo on it. It was planned but my friend with the controller called me just before the day of the shooting and said he couldn't find it =( Sorry
Ecco and the dreamcast were mainly meant to show a flop in game history (please don't kill me for saying that =) ! If you have a different opinion on this one it's cool. We don't mean to insult anyone).
Why didn't we just cover...everything?!—due to the limited time that we had for this project it was hard enough to gather all controllers and output devices we used. And we're quite aware that it's not always the best possible combination of game pad and monitor =)
We didnt use XBox Kinect or Playstation Move because the technology isn't new.
And remember this is (almost) a one-shot (= no cuts used) => the more games/controllers, the harder it gets—one mistake and you can start over.
We captured a total of 45takes.
If you're interested visit vimeo once in a while, we're up to make a little "Making Of".

This video was purely non-profit and not Aimed at breaking copyright laws.

New York Subway 1986 NYC -directors cut- with stereo audio track.mpg
The story: in 1986 I made a round trip through the USA and Canada. The starting point was New York. So I filmed some scenes in Manhattan. And was going in the underground at 43nd St & Timesquare. I filmed with a big ARRIflex 16mm camera with a 120m magazine with 7250 Kodak 16mm color reversal Tungsten 400 ASA film and a Schneider Cine Xenon 1:2/16mm lens . This equipment is good for 10 Minutes recording duration at 25 f/sec.
After I time a man comes to me and said, he´s a cameraman at ABC and filming at the subway is strictly forbidden without any permission and police is on the other end of the platform. So I was leaving the station, but I had these beautiful pics of the old times in the New York subway. At the same time I recorded the stereo sound with a SONY WM-D6C with two Sennheiser micros in stereo.
In 1986 I edited the pics to the song of the band "London Beat" -- "9am at a New York subway". About 25 years later I was uploading this movie to YouTube. But SONY Music was locking my movie because of the copyright of the song. So I deleted the audio track und was uploading the silence version. After the great response to this video of the New York subway of 1986 now I opened my archive once again with the original film and composed it with the original stereo sound to this over 10 minutes long "directors cut" of all scenes, I filmed at this day in June 1986. Enjoy it!
Thank you to Judy for telecine & color correction and Marion for the original sound recording.
