Tarun Kumar (Telugu: తరుణ్) is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He frequently appears in romantic comedy films.

He is the elder son of Oriya actor Chakrapani & noted actress Roja Ramani. He started his acting career under Usha Kiran Movies production, as a child actor. Tarun bagged the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 1991 for the Tamil film Anjali directed by Mani Ratnam. He has acted in numerous films as a child artist including the Tamil blockbuster Thalapathi (1991), starring Rajinikanth. His first film as a lead actor, Nuvve Kavali, went on to become Tollywood's biggest blockbuster of 2000.^[1][2][3]

Vimala Raman is an Indian film actress, model and a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She made her acting debut in the 2006 Tamil film Poi and went on to appear primarily in Malayalam and Telugu films.

Vimala Raman was born into a Tamil family in Sydney, Australia.^[1] She was brought up in Sydney, where she completed her education. She started practicing Bharatanatyam at the age of five. In 2004 she won the Miss India Australia title as well as the Miss India Australia cyberqueen title.^[2] She moved to India in 2006 to pursue an acting career, which had been her childhood ambition.^[3] When she entered the film industry, she was asked to change her name, however she was firmly against it, arguing that her name was her identity.^[1]

She made her acting debut in 2004 with Poi, a Tamil film directed by Kailasam Balachander. Her first Malayalam film was Time with Suresh Gopi. She paired with Ajmal Ameer in Pranayakalam in 2007. In the same year, she also appeared with Mammooty in Nasrani and with Dileep in Romeoo. She appeared in College Kumaran with Mohanlal and in Calcutta News with Dileep in 2008. Vimala Raman attended the Natanalaya Dance Academy based in Sydney, Australia. She studied dance under the tutelage of Jayalakshmi Kandiah. She is interested to do action roles because she is tall (5 feet 10 inches). She’ll be seen as Mangamma a police officer in an action movie.

In December 2010, Vimala will appear in Dam 999, an international movie directed by Sohan Roy.

Meghna Naidu (Telugu: మేఘన నాయుడు; born 19 September 1978) is an Indian actress and dancer. Her first major appearance was in the music video for UMI10's "Kaliyon Ka Chaman" (2000),^[2][3] an official remix of Lata Mangeshkar's 1981 song "Thoda Resham Lagta Hai" (in turn, the 2002 song "Addictive" by Truth Hurts was inspired by the remix). She also featured in Saru Maini's video Dil De Diya Tha (Sutta Mix),^[4] before eventually working in Indian films.

Meghna Naidu was born on 19 September in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.^[5] Her father Ethiraj works for Air India and was a tennis coach and her mother Purnima, a half-Bengali,^[6] was a school teacher.^[7] She has one younger sister, Sona.^[8][9] She told that she requested her mother to quit her job and accompany her to shooting locations, after her sister who used to travel with her got a job abroad.^[10] She grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and considers herself "more of a Mumbaiite".^[11] She studied at Bhavan's College, Andheri, Mumbai,^[12][13] and graduated with a B.Com degree.^[14] She has learnt classical bharatanatyam dance for seven years.^[15] She stated that she also was coaching tennis in the US for 4 years.^[16]

At age 18, she met a model co-ordinator at the wedding of her cousin in Chennai, who called her for a screen test for a feature film.^[17][18] She bagged a role in the Telugu film Prema Sakshi (1999), following which she appeared in one more Telugu and two Kannada films.^[19] She then appeared in UMI10's music video "Kaliyon Ka Chaman", directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, which she says happened by accident.^[20][21] She was accompanying her friend to the audition for the video, when she was approached by the team. She was asked to send in her photographs and within few days, she was selected for the video. "Kaliyon Ka Chaman" became a grand success and gained her recognition. She subsequently went on to do many stage performances in and outside of India.^[22][23]

She made her Bollywood debut with the film Hawas (2004),^[24] which dealt with extramarital affair. It was followed by lead roles in Classic Dance of Love (2005), which featured her as a dancer, and Rain: The Terror Within... (2005), in which she played a blind author.^[25] In Mashooka, she essayed a character with negative shades.

She also participated in the television shows Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi and Dancing Queen (TV series).^[26]

She got engaged with actor, Kushal Punjabi in September 2009,^[27] though the couple parted ways in March 2010.^[28]

Arora was studying hotel management in Bangalore when he developed an interest in modeling. He won the Gladrags Manhunt in 1998. After that he continued to pursue a career in modelling to become one of the most famous male models of his time. He was seen in advertisement campaigns for brands like Raymond, Westside, Kwality Walls, McDowell’s whiskey, and LG, and walked the runway for several designers. He has also acted in many hit music videos.

Arora filmed his first Bollywood role in 1999, a cameo in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He had his first major role in the movie Hawas. During the next three years, he performed in several low-budget films like Sheen (2004), 19 Revolutions (2004), Men Not Allowed (2006), and Ghuttan (2007), but unfortunately none of these managed to make any impact for him.

In 2007, he performed in the film, Jab We Met, in which he played the role of Kareena Kapoor's lover who rejects her and comes back, only to get rejected himself. The film was a major hit on the box office.

Barkha Dutt is an Indian television journalist and columnist. She is currently the group editor with NDTV.^[1]

Dutt gained prominence for her reportage of the Kargil War. She has won many national and international awards, including the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour. She writes a column for the Hindustan Times called "Third Eye". In 2010 she was one of the journalists taped in the 2G lobbying Radia tapes controversy.^[2][3]

Barkha Dutt was born in New Delhi to S. P. Dutt, an official in Air India and Prabha Dutt who was a well-known journalist with the Hindustan Times.^{[citation needed]} Barkha credits her journalism skills to her mother, Prabha, a pioneer among women journalists in India.^{[citation needed]} Prabha Dutt died in 1984 due to a brain haemorrhage.^{[citation needed]} Barkha's younger sister, Bahar Dutt,^[4] is also a television journalist working for CNN IBN.

Barkha graduated from St. Stephen's College, Delhi with a degree in English literature. She received a Master's in Mass Communications from Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communication Research Center, New Delhi. She started her journalism career with NDTV and later rose to head the English news wing of the organization. She also obtained a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, New York assisted by an Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation scholarship.^[5] Her reporting of the Kargil conflict in 1999, including an interview with Captain Vikram Batra, brought her to prominence in India.^[6][7] She has since covered conflicts in Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.^[8]

In 2008, the Indian government awarded Dutt the Padma Shri, a civilian honor, for her coverage of the 2004 Tsunami ^[9] Barkha also received the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association award for Journalist of the Year, 2007. Her Sunday talk show has won the most awards out of any show on Indian television, winning the Indian Television Academy award for Best Talk Show five years in a row.^[10] In 2008, Dutt received the Indian News Broadcasting Award for the Most Intelligent News Show Host.^[11] She has twice been named on the list of 100 "Global Leaders of Tomorrow" compiled by the World Economic Forum (2001, 2008).^[12] She has also received Society Magazine Young Achievers Award. ^[13] In 2010 she was appointed as a member of India's National Integration Council.^[14][15] She was also Asia Society Fellow in 2006 and serves on the International Advisory Council of the Asia Society.^[16]

Portrayal in popular culture[link]

Barkha Dutt has been portrayed in the film Lakshya, directed by Farhan Akhtar.^[17][18] She was the model for the principal protagonist in the The Peddler of Soaps, a political novel by writer-activist Anand Kurian.^{[citation needed]} In recent times, the role played by Rani Mukherjee in the film No One Killed Jessica is loosely based on her.^[19]

Radia tapes controversy[link]

In November 2010, OPEN magazine carried a story which reported transcripts of some of the telephone conversations of Nira Radia with senior journalists, politicians, and corporate houses, many of whom have denied the allegations.^[20] The Central Bureau of Investigation has announced that they have 5,851 recordings of phone conversations by Radia, some of which outline Radia's attempts to broker deals in relation to the 2G spectrum sale.^[21] In one of the tapes Barkha Dutt assures Radia of getting Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress general secretary, to talk to Karunanidhi to get the portfolios in the Union cabinet fixed.^[22][23][24] Dutt denied acting on any promise to pass on messages to the Congress. In a subsequent tape, Nira Radia is heard saying ‘Barkha has got Congress(political party) to issue a statement’.^[25][26] Dutt denies the allegations.^[27]
