Barry, Texas

Barry is a city in Navarro County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 242 at the 2010 census.

History

Established in 1886, the city was named after Bryan T. Barry, an early landowner who sold 300 acres to settlers. Its original location was a mile south of its present site. After the St. Louis Southwestern Railway completed a line between Corsicana and Hilsboro in 1888, residents moved to the present location near the railroad tracks. A public school opened in 1896 to serve the settlement, which also had a post office, general store and gin. By 1914, the community of 400 residents had two banks, a newspaper, hotel, stores, eateries, a blacksmith, and three churches. A Masonic lodge was later founded. The Barry school merged with nearby Blooming Grove in 1958.

Barry is located at 32°05′56″N 96°38′13″W / 32.098806°N 96.636936°W / 32.098806; -96.636936 (32.098806, -96.636936).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.45 square miles (1.2 km²), of which 0.44 square miles (1.1 km²) is land.

Sequela

A sequela (UK /sᵻˈkwiːlə/,US /sᵻˈkwɛlə/; usually used in the plural, sequelae) is a pathological condition resulting from a disease, injury, therapy, or other trauma. Typically, a sequela is, in medical language, a chronic condition that is a complication of an acute condition that begins during that acute condition. In ordinary language it may be described as a further condition that is different from, but a consequence of, the first condition. In timing a sequela contrasts with a late effect, where there is a period, sometimes as long as several decades, between the resolution of the initial condition and the appearance of the late effect.

Chronic kidney disease, for example, is sometimes a sequela of diabetes, "chronic constipation" or more accurately "obstipation" (that is, difficulty in passing stool) is a sequela to an intestinal obstruction, and neck pain is a common sequela of whiplash or other trauma to the cervical vertebrae. Post-traumatic stress disorder may be a psychological sequela of rape. Sequelae of traumatic brain injury include headache and dizziness, anxiety, apathy, depression, aggression, cognitive impairments, personality changes, mania, psychosis.

Uniregistry is a Cayman Islands-based domain name registry that administers the generic top-level domains .audio, .auto, .blackfriday, .car, .cars, .christmas, .click, .diet, .flowers, .game, .gift, .guitars, .help, .hiphop, .hiv, .hosting, .juegos, .link, .lol, .mom, .photo, .pics, .property, .sexy, and .tattoo. In February 2012, the related company Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar and launched under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014.

History

Uniregistry Corporation was officially founded in 2012 by Frank Schilling, one of the largest private domain name portfolio owners in the world, and registered in the Cayman Islands. However, the domain Uniregistry.com was registered six years earlier and the company filed an intent to use the name in the Cayman Islands in 2010. Trademark applications for the "Uniregistry" mark and its stylized "U" logo were filed in 2012. That year, Schilling invested $60 million and applied for 54 new top-level domains. Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar in February 2013. In January 2014, Uniregistry Inc. became a subsidiary in Newport Beach, California to house a West Coast service and support team. The registrar began operating under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014. Uniregistry's registry infrastructure was designed by Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and Uniregistry subsequently purchased its infrastructure in 2013.
