PPG Industries is shuffling some of its upper management ranks, hiring a former Chrysler and Eastman Kodak Co. executive to be CFO-in-waiting and moving CFO David B. Navikas to another senior management role.
PPG (NYSE: PPG) said Frank B. Sklarsky on April 15 will join as executive vice president, finance, and he'll become CFO on Aug. 1. Navikas, who is now senior vice president, finance, and CFO, will remain as a senior vice president in a role to be named later.
Sklarsky will report to Chairman and CEO Charles E. Bunch.
“His deep financial management expertise and executive leadership experience guiding strategy and operations with large, global enterprises will be an asset to PPG as we continue to grow and expand our positions around the world,” Bunch said in a prepared statement.
Sklarsky had been executive vice president and CFO of Tyco International, a company with $17 billion in revenue. He has been executive vice president and CFO of Eastman Kodak Co. and ConAgra Foods Inc., and worked at Chrysler, Dell and Ernst & Young.
Navikas was praised by Bunch for his work in the separation of the commodity chemicals business and a recent acquisition of AkzoNobel's Nolrth American architectural coatings division.
"David's detailed understanding of PPG's global businesses and deep financial management expertise are invaluable," Bunch said.
