A judge in Wyoming has denied a lawsuit by environmental groups asking that the lists of chemicals in fracking fluids be made public, ruling those lists are trade secrets. Soooo: Never mind that toxins have already shown up in Wyoming tap water, an accident there last year contaminated groundwater, an accident in Pennsylvania spewed a quarter million gallons of toxic and possibly radioactive wastewater, a blowout in Texas, already worried about carcinogenic dust and groundwater, just destroyed a fracking site, etc etc. What, you think it's your water? Let the companies keep their secrets.

Some clever bugger in the UK has punked weapons manufacturer General Atomics by cloning their website and offering some rather more useful information about the company's role in the global targeting killing campaign operated by US and British forces.

General Atomics is making enormous profits from the futile, perpetual 'War on Terror'. The families and communities ripped apart by its products have been less fortunate. [...] Download 'Living Under Drones' a recent report demonstrating the effectiveness of our products.

Here's the ever-cool Willie Nelson and his contribution to the gay marriage debate, of which he says, "It's ridiculous (this) is something we're having a conversation about in this day and age." Texas Monthly has more from the 79-year-old Nelson, who once covered the song “Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other."

"I've known straight and gay people all my life. I can't tell the difference...But I'd never marry a guy I didn't like."

After inexplicably failing to bring any prosecutions of Wall Street executives who crashed the economy in his alleged job heading the criminal division at the Justice Department, Lanny Breuer is returning to his old firm, where he will defend the same corporations he worked so hard to protect at the DOJ.  He will make about $4 million for so gracefully gliding through the obscene, golden revolving door.

Seeking to "take back our city" from crime and gun violence, an Armed Citizen Project affiliate in Tucson has announced a brilliant plan to give away free shotguns in high-crime neighborhoods, an idea that critics and other people with brains are calling "pure idiocy." The intiative was organized by a GOP failed mayoral candidate who believes that linking guns to gun violence is "like saying spoons are responsible for making people fat,” which should be enough, but actually there's more.

Ignoring hysterical threats from Donald Trump to "spend whatever monies are necessary" to stop an offshore state-of-the-art windfarm from destroying the "masterpiece" that is his stupid gazillion-dollar golf course, a steadfast Scottish government has approved the project. Wind advocates say it will generate enough power for almost half Aberdeen's homes and test new offshore designs. Trump says the project is "ridiculous," a concept that should be familiar to him. We (heart) Scotland.

Some great photos coming out of SCOTUS demonstrations, many featuring the lamentable wingnuts of Westboro. May their fall be swift.
