North Korea Kaesong Children's Prison, Hear Screams From The "Guests"
North Korea Kaesong Childrens Prison, Hear The Screams
WARNING
What you are about to see has never been released before.
You will hear screams, you will see mothers waving their children off, you will see people bowing to the guards.
You will see smiles for the camera - but do not be deceived.
This is the real Kaesong Youth Prison Camp ... revealed at last.
+++++++
See the secret undercover footage, smuggled from the secret Kaesong Childrens Prison And Re-Education / Alignment Center (No.1).
After a full 13 years of planning how to secretly illegally enter North Korea (despite Visas being freely available and there's even a through train from Moscow), I made it across the border, on a freezing August night. Probably.
With only a fleet of trucks and heated caravans, a 14 man, hand-picked, back up crew from the "Admit One To The Fun Fair" team and a satellite telephone, I was otherwise all alone, exposed to the very elements that I was to film, secretly.
My goal - the top secret and totally unknown Kaesong Childrens Prison And Re-Education / Alignment Center (No.1) at secret grid reference 38.34024 127.16456.
I had to secretly illegally enter the camp, film it in complete secrecy with my crew of 14, interview the "guests" under the very noses of the harsh, heavily armed, guards - and make my secret getaway, thru the gift shop, back to the hotel.
Living on scavenged berries, potatoes and twigs for days on end is not my style, so we ate rather well in the local 4 star hotels and flew home first class, although not on a Korean Air Ilyushin, of course.
Now, after all this years of effort, I am ready to expose myself to you.
See the raw, unedited, footage, seemingly shot on the cheapest film, transformed into black and white to persuade gullible people of its' accuracy, with scratches and hairs added by a server room full of South Korean built beautiful Apple Mac Computers. North Korea - Kaesong and the Demilitarised Zone, Part 3 Tourism Preview
Australian filmmaker Mark Shea takes a trip to North Korea (The People's Democratic Republic of Korea) with Young Pioneer Tours. http://dprk.youngpioneertours.com
This video is part three of a brief overview of what I saw in North Korea. We visit Kaesong -- the capital of Korea during the Koryo Dynasty and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)
Kaesong, the ancient capital of Korea, is like a tourism boom town waiting to happen. It did not escape me that we were the only group walking the quaint cobbled streets surrounded by traditional houses. Visiting the museum and learning of the history of the Koryo period, I thought to recent history, political movements, and how only sixty years have made the two Korea's, North and South, so indistinguishable.
The demilitarised zone really took me by surprise. I was expecting stern faced soldiers ready for attack. Instead I discovered bus loads of Chinese tourists, snapping photos with obliging soldiers.

South Korea Reopens Kaesong Park to South Korean Workers
For more news & videos visit ☛http://english.ntdtv.com
South Korea has lifted a temporary ban on its citizens from working at an industrial park in North Korea. The ban was in place for Monday's live-fire military drill... over concerns of retaliation from the North.
South Koreans are back to work at a joint industrial park in North Korea Wednesday.
South Korea's Unification Ministry says entry to park was banned during the country's live-firing exercise near Yeonpyeong Island Monday, but the ban has now been lifted.
[Lee Jong-joo, Spokesperson, South Korean Unification Ministry]:
"We've stopped our people going to and coming from the Kaesong Industrial Park on the day we conducted a live-fire drill. From yesterday, we have managed the number of people in the park back to the same levels on days before the live-fire drill."
More than 110 South Korean companies use cheap North Korean labor at the Kaesong factory park to make products such as cooking pots, clothes, shoes and watches.
Tensions are high on the peninsula after North Korea fired artillery shells at the South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island on November 23, killing four people including two civilians.
North and South Korea are still technically at war since the 1950-53 Korean War ended in a truce without a peace treaty.

American arrested in North Korea
Pae Jun Ho an American citizen of Korean heritage (mother lives in the USA state of Washington, father lives in South Korea) was arrested in North Korea while there as a tourist. Why would an American travel to the lunatic nation as a tourist?
-
The North Koreans basically have a depressed economy where mass starvation has become a way of life in the Hermit Kingdom. So where are the North Korean communist and Dear Leader getting the billions to develop their nuclear weapons and missile program? Good question!
On the Korean peninsular, just north of the 38th parallel there is a town called Kaesong. An industrial park was created in this communist North Korean town, called Kaesong Industrial Region.
Many South Koreans set up manufacturing plants in the Kaesong Industrial Region. Products can be produced cheaper here than in China. It is estimated the corporate tax paid by South Korean companies to the North Korean commies / Dear Leader (Kim Jong-ill in the head), is 1.78 billion dollars.
Looking at these figures it is rather easy to see where the North Koreans are getting their money to develop their missile and nuclear weapons which threaten South Korea, Japan, and the United States of America.
Are any of the products produced in Kaesong Industrial Region exported to the United States via South Korea? Are componets for Hyundai, KIA, and Samsung hidden within and exported to the USA?
So while the USA is admonishing the North Koreans for their missile and nuclear development, South Korean corporations through the back door are financing these weapon developments. Geo politics are just plain crazy?

Driving in Kaesong, North Korea
Driving from the Koryo History museum to the Kaesong Folk Hotel in Kaesong, North Korea. Shot 2/15/13 on a 'major street' in the 2nd largest city in North Korea. Notice the lack of traffic. The 1st green bus that passes us is another foreign tourist group. These streets were in deplorable condition by global standards, but above average for North Korea.

Korean Central Television (조선중앙방송)
"개성고려인삼"
Insam has been used widely for thousands of years for the treatment and prevention of various diseases. Koryo insam which mainly grows in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, is popular as an ideal tonic, and as a health food which is capable of restoring disordered physiological functions and promoting resistance to various external stimuli and which does not produce side effects. The efficacy of insam can be described in modern medical terms as follows:
1. Promotes metabolism and improves physiological activity,
2. Sets the mind at ease and improves the sight,
3. Improves the functions of the digestive organs,
4. Cures diabetes,
5. Improves blood circulation,
6. Cure tumors,
7. Improves cerebral functions,
8. Delay aging.
Because of its remarkable medicinal effect, insam has become known as a miraculous herb; being native to the fertile land of morning calm (Korea), it has been called the spirit of the land; in view of its blood-stimulating effect, it has also been referred to as a blood root.

Vital Venture: Economic Engagement of North Korea and the Kaesong Industrial Complex
Korea Economic Institute partnered with the Center for a New American Security to present and release a report by Dr. Patrick Cronin, CNAS Senior Advisor and Senior Director of the Asia-Pacific Security Program, entitled, "Vital Venture: Economic Engagement of North Korea and the Kaesong Industrial Complex." In the report, Cronin provides insight into the dynamics at Kaesong and strongly argues for using political transition on both sides of the DMZ to engage, probe and reassess approaches to North Korea. Incorporating extensive interactions with South Korean government officials and scholars, Vital Venture analyzes North Korean adaptation and survival strategies, investigates the history of Kaesong and its status after the Sunshine Policy as well as its significant implications for U.S. policy. Ambassador Jack Pritchard will provide commentary on this thought provoking paper.
This program was moderated by KEI President, Ambassador Jack Pritchard.

Sorry for the shaky filming but the North Korean roads do not quite offer a smooth ride.
The bridge over the highway is a rest area roughly half way between Kaesong and Pyongyang.
