Whereas there is often significant amounts of success in buying and selling or investments in stocks, there is also a fantastic deal of hazard, considering that the value of your share of stock can go down. How can you protect yourself alongside this risk? Consider this story. Let's say that you actually buy a stock of XYZ Company at $10 per stock. You intend to keep this share of stock for long-standing investment, with the likelihood of selling it at a wonderful price in the future; maybe even as high as $15 in the future (maybe 3 years from now). However, you're also worried about the risk that your XYZ $10 stock may go down in price, like possibly to $5. If this comes about, you will have wasted one half of your money. Thus, just what should you do? You enter into a contract with ABC Company (different from XYZ), which promises that even in the event the price of this XYZ $10 stock decreases within the stock exchange to $5 or maybe even zero, ABC will guarantee that they're going to be glad to purchase your share at the same $10 which you bought your share for (but this is just if you opt to sell the share of stock to them). In so doing, you really are protected against "downside" risk if the stock dives, but you still are capable of getting any promising "upside" prize if your share goes up in worth. In order to formalize this arrangement, ABC Company issues you a piece of paper as evidence that your particular arrangement exists. Exactly what is this piece of paper termed? It's known as an "option" or a "stock option". For what reason is it labelled as an 'option'? Because you, the holder of your option, have the "choice" or "option" to sell your stock to ABC Company at the particular $10 price once you elect to utilize or "exercise" the option. While you're the owner of your option, ABC Company would be the one giving you that choice, thus it is called the "issuer" of the option. The option discussed above, wherein you actually have the choice to sell a stock to ABC Company at a set price tag even if your stock price goes down is more specifically named a "put" option. There's also another option termed a "call" option, which, in a way, might be the "opposite" of a put option. Instead of having the choice to sell a stock at a selected value even when the price decreases, you have got the choice to procure a stock at a certain selling price even in the event the value surges. For the reason that idea of a call option is just as extensive as a put option, it will best be handled in its unique sole video. Be sure to note that in real life, you ordinarily do not procure options directly from the issuing company (in our case in point above, it was ABC Company). Instead, you might probably buy or sell options off an options "exchange" that is definitely similar to a stock exchange but where options are traded in place of stocks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ren8kZ5nJ4c

23. Options Markets
Financial Markets (ECON 252)
Options introduce an essential nonlineary into portfolio management. They are contracts between buyers and writers, who agree on exercise prices and dates at which the buyer can buy or sell the underlying (such as a stock). Options are priced based on the price and volatility of the underlying asset as well as the duration of the option contract. The Black-Scholes options pricing model is one of the most famous equations in finance and offers a useful first approximation for prices for option contracts. Options exchanges and futures exchanges both are involved in creating a liquid and transparent market for options. Options are not just for stocks; they are also important for other asset classes, such as real estate.

It is very common that stock is transacted in blocks divisible by 100, to create a round lot. A round lot has turned into a standard trading unit around the public exchanges for quite way back when. In store market, we've the authority to exchange a large variety of shares so long as you will find individuals are ready to sell and we are willing to buy in the price that this seller has fixed. Usually, to get a broker agent, they set their commission for the transaction for minimum 100 units of share at the certain price. Whenever we buy lower than 100 units of share, they still impose us this commission. For an example, whenever we buy 100 units share and pay the agent USD 30 for the exchange transactions, in addition they charge us that amount: USD 30 also, when we only buy and sell 1 units of share. The volume of commission how the broker agent charges for your stock transaction is varied from as well as other. Some broker may charge less however they require you to trade a whole lot in a transaction. So, each unit of choice is representing 100 units of share.
The truth is, there are two kinds of options which are call and set option. Call option gives its owner the legal right to buy 100 units of share of an company at a specified price that's been agreed between the call option owner and also the seller within certain stretch of time. So, within this time frame, if the stock price increases, the decision option price will likely climb and vice versa. The second type of choices put option. This choice gives its owner the authority to sell 100 units of share of an company at a specified price that is agreed between your put option owner as well as the seller within certain stretch of time. Put option appears like the opposite of call option. In the event the stock price goes up within this time frame, the put option price lowers. Either call or put option can be purchased or sold. As long as you will find people willing to sell, there'll be people happy to buy. There are four permutations which might be possible exist throughout the transaction associated with an option. Reduce costs is getting a call option and thus buy the befitting for you to ultimately buy 100 units of share. Second is selling call option and therefore sell the ability to buy 100 units share of your stuff to anyone else. Another you are investing in a put option and thus find the befitting for yourself to sell 100 units of shares. The last an example may be selling a put option which means that sell the legal right to sell 100 units of share to you to anyone else.
One other approach to make these differences clearer is obviously understand that the letter option buyer hopes the stock price will go up along with the put option buyer searching for the cost per share to fall. For your opposite side, a call option seller is hoping the stock price will keep or fall. Whereas, put option seller is hoping how the stock price go up. If your option buyer irrespective of coping with the calls or puts choice is correctly predicting the price movement in the stock, chances are they'll will gain cash in on their action. For option, there is certainly another obstacle we must face besides estimating the direction from the stock price movement. This obstacle would be that the change of the stock price should be taken place before the deadline in the option. Like a stockholder, we might manage to predict a stock's long-term prospects by waiting for a long-term change with the stock. However, for option holder, natural meats donrrrt you have that sort of opportunity. The reason being choices are finite; they will lose almost all their value within a short time, usually in just a couple of months. However, they have long-term options that may last approximately 1 to 3 years. Due to this limitation, time will probably be an important factor to determine whether a possibility buyer can earn a return or otherwise.

Despite the fact that there is often significant amounts of reward in dealing or investing in shares of stock, you have a boatload of high risk, considering that the value of your share of stock can go down. Therefore, what steps do you take? You enter into an understanding with ABC Company (different from XYZ), which pledges that even when the value of your XYZ $10 stock drops in the stock market to $5 or possibly zero, ABC will guarantee that they are going to be prepared to receive your share at the same $10 for which you acquired your share of stock for (and this is just in case you elect to sell the share of stock to them). That way, you are protected against "downside" harm if the stock fails, however you still are able to get any plausible "upside" reward if your share goes up in value. So that you can formalize this contract, ABC Company issues you a sheet of paper as evidence that your particular agreement exists. What exactly is this piece of paper termed? Op†ion - ††† Crosses (Option)
Lyrics Op†ion
I dream a day that god will surface
To retrieve his nails and open your heart.
You'll say you're mine for the ages
Just open your heart and say
"I swear on the cross"
Can you promise this to the grave you'll take my name can you promise me?
Overseas and over mountains
A thousand years I've waited for her
To say the lines "from this day forward"
Just open your heart and say
"I swear on the cross"
Can you promise that to the grave you'll take my name?
Can you promise me?
All this time I've prayed for this day to come true,
No one knows how deep the waves we waded through.
I wish I could take your hand and make it true.
Cause no one knows how far apart we've stayed to get through.
I wish I could take your hand and make it true.
Cause no one knows how far apart we stay to get through.
Can you say "I swear on the cross"
Can you promise that to the grave you'll take my name?
Can you promise me?

PLEASE WATCH IN HD FULL SCREEN w/SOUND. It is a much better viewing experience. Hopefully you have a 1080P monitor and good connection. If not, bug a friend or colleague that does. It is worth it.
Landscapes: Volume 2 is the second of a three part series. Every frame of this video is a raw still from a Canon 5D2 DSLR and processed with Adobe software. In Volume 2 I again show off my beautiful home state of Arizona and I also made several trips to Utah. This video has some iconic landmarks that we have seen before. I felt that showing them again with motion controlled HDR and/or night timelapse would be a new way to see old landmarks.
Sales Pitch: I would now have to say that my timelapse skill set is very complete. The amount of knowledge I have gained through research, testing, and shooting experience is astounding. From moon phases to high dynamic range to motion control rigs to noise reduction, you would have a tough time finding someone with more overall knowledge of timelapse. If you need help with your next timelapse project you can reach me at 888-444-2739 or DustinF@crewwestinc.com
Most of the motion control for this video was done with the Stage Zero Dolly by Dynamic Perception. Once I got comfortable using the DP dolly I fell in love. I can set up shots now in much shorter times. More importantly for me, it is much smaller and much more portable than my homemade motion control. Without it, shots like the Delicate Arch shot in Utah would be nearly impossible due to the length of the hike. Buy the Stage Zero Dolly if you are looking for quality, inexpensive, easy-to-use motion control. http://dynamicperception.com/
In addition to the Stage Zero, I also used a three axis motion controlled CamTram. The CamTram is the most versatile dolly I have ever used. Its applications are only limited by your creativity. The CamTram has virtually no weight limit. I was able to achieve shots that dolly-in with the camera just over the ground because of the CamTram's ability to hold heavy counter weights.

Cover creation
After working on the latest cover for Macworld Magazine I wanted to show what is involved in making a cover. I focused on the three main areas: the photography, photoshop and design. I chose a time lapse format to convey lots of information in a small amount of time. The only drawback of time lapse is that since half a day goes by in 30 seconds, the whole process seam so easy! Lots of details were left out of the design process (like the cover meetings and rounds of layout options). I began to photograph the design process after the layouts had already been narrowed down to just three cover designs.
On the technical side, for the time lapse video, I used the Canon 5D Mark II with a 24mm-70mm zoom. I chose the 5D because of its great image quality with high ISO's. Canon's sRAW1 gave me the flexibility of a RAW file with the file size of a jpeg. The actual Macworld cover was taken with a Phase One P65+ digital back attached to a 4x5 Sinar X camera with a 65mm lens.
Many thanks to Rob Schultz for allowing me to invade his office and literally shoot over his shoulder.
The music was used with permission by The Brokenmusicbox.
