Kama Sutra Records was started in 1964 by Arthur "Artie" Ripp, Hy Mizrahi and Phil Steinberg as Kama Sutra Productions, a production house. The "Kama Sutra" is an ancient Sanskrit text.
In 1965, the company was joined by Art Kass and the record label itself was started. A distribution deal with MGM Records was later signed, which lasted from 1965 until 1969. From 1969 onward, distribution was then handled by co-owned Buddah Records.
The record company ceased in mid-1976 but restarted in 1981 as Sutra Records. Under this moniker, Kass marketed and distributed Fever Records, Blue Dog Records, Baila Records, Becket Records, and signed and recorded the Cover Girls, the Fat Boys, Victor Willis, and many more before the company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1993. The 1965-1976 Kama Sutra catalogue is now owned by Sony Music Entertainment and managed by Legacy Recordings. The 1981–1993 Sutra catalogue is controlled by Unidisc Music.
The Kama Sutra (Sanskrit: कामसूत्र pronunciation , Kāmasūtra) is an ancient Indian Hindu text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature written by Vātsyāyana. A portion of the work consists of practical advice on sexual intercourse. It is largely in prose, with many inserted anustubh poetry verses. "Kāma" which is one of the four goals of Hindu life, means desire including sexual desire the latter being the subject of the textbook, and "sūtra" literally means a thread or line that holds things together, and more metaphorically refers to an aphorism (or line, rule, formula), or a collection of such aphorisms in the form of a manual. Contrary to popular perception, especially in the western world, Kama sutra is not exclusively a sex manual; it presents itself as a guide to a virtuous and gracious living that discusses the nature of love, family life and other aspects pertaining to pleasure oriented faculties of human life.Kama Sutra, in parts of the world, is presumed or depicted as a synonym for creative sexual positions; in reality, only 20% of Kama Sutra is about sexual positions. The majority of the book, notes Jacob Levy, is about the philosophy and theory of love, what triggers desire, what sustains it, how and when it is good or bad.
Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love is a 1996 Indian film directed by Mira Nair. The film takes its title from the ancient Indian text, the Kama Sutra, but this only serves as a common link between the characters.
The plot takes its origin from a short story by Urdu author Vājidah Tabassum titled "Utran" ("Hand-Me-Downs" or "Cast-Offs"). The portion of plot derived from "Utran" takes place from the film's beginning until the scene where Maya says: "Now something I have used is yours forever." After that the story is the screenwriters' creation.
During filming in India, the name of the project was not revealed to government officials who would have denied the petition to film in India had it been called "Kama Sutra." Instead, it was called "Maya & Tara." Since government officials made many periodic visits to the set to ensure proper Indian film etiquette, the cast had to improvise fake scenes which avoided the nudity and sexuality central to the story. Upon completion, authorities screened the film and it was subsequently banned in India because of the erotic scenes that contained heterosexual as well as homosexual elements (the lesbianism was depicted in an explicit scene, whereas the male homosexuality was more implied).
The Kama Sutra is an Indian text on sex and love.

Let me please you...the kama sutra way
Come and teach me what love has taught you
Come and please me...the kama sutra way
It's crazy how I can tell you understand
Givin my love a second chance
I broke the trust that we once had
I need you
It doesn't matter what's come before
I know it's time for me to close that door
I always knew that you'd be back for more
Move your body baby with me
Kama sutra baby with me
Move your body baby with me
Kama sutra baby with me
Hold your hands out to me.......
You like it!
Imagination so wild and new
You're doin things you said you couldn't do
Holding positions til we both get it through
Now I like it!
Imagination so wild and new
I'm doin things I never thought I could do
Holding positions til we both get it through
And you love me
Please take my body baby as you want
It's up to you
Love's on the edge and it's time to jump
Hold your hands out to me.......
Let me teach you what love has taught me
Let me please you...the kama sutra way
Let me teach you what love has taught me
Let me please you...the kama sutra way
Let me teach you what love has taught me
Let me please you...the kama sutra way
Move your body baby with me
Kama sutra baby with me
Move your body baby with me
