(Source. Macclesfield Town FC Ltd). With no match this weekend, next up for the Silkmen is Tuesday night's trip to Essex to take on Braintree. The Silkmen are now above The Iron after Macc's successful festive season coincided with a run of postponements for Braintree, which has seen them in action only once in 2014 ... Chris Holroyd sprung the offside trap but saw his shot blocked, with the ball not cleared it was eventually worked to Gnahoua wide on the left but his cross was cleared ... A nice cross in from Gnahoua was met by Holroyd, but his looping header was gathered by Belford in the Tamworth goal as the bright Silkmen start continued ... After just one defeat in the last 11 matches, Macc came into the game in excellent form and the only change from midweek saw Arthur Gnahoua replace Peter Winn on the left of midfield ... On 22 minutes a Gnahoua cross was poorly defended and almost fell kindly for Boden, but Lee Burns' clearance ricocheted off the Macc striker and over the bar for a goal kick....(size: 5.7Kb)

Arthur Gnahoua and Mackreth were brought on for Kissock and Winn as the second half ticked on and their introductions seemed to give Macc more attacking threat against a tiring Halifax ...
