For their "capstone," end-of-semester project, students in the Emerson College Los Angeles "Business of Acting" class produced an industry showcase that features wonderful original content, as well as their directed interpretation and reimagining of scenes from some of their favorite television shows and films. Appearing in the showcase are Madeleine Beimford, Amy Lee Bullock, Camra Godwin, John Michael Mukai, Lauren Padula, Nel Shaffer, Caroline Ullman and Emily Woods. The student project coordinator was the fabulous Allison Paige Gilman. The performance is introduced by talent manager, author and their professor Brad Lemack, who mentored the class through the journey and production of their showcase.
In 1988 at Fielder Road Baptist Church, the students braved to put on a full production replicating a David Letterman show. Everything was completely created and produced by the students: concepts, writing, set creation, acting, performance and production. At times it can be painful to watch. Sometimes inside jokes of the group get a laugh. It's here for posterity, whatever that's worth.
