Kseniya Simonova created a sand story specially for "The Sunday Times"

Another, boiled his own child for food. Despite reports of the widespread famine, Kim Jong Un, 30, has spent vast sums of money on two rocket launches in recent months. There are fears he is planning a nuclear test in protest at a UN Security Council punishment for the recent rocket launches and to counter what it sees as US hostility. One informant was quoted as saying: 'In my village in May a man who killed his own two children and tried to eat them was executed by a firing squad.' The informant said the father killed his eldest daughter while his wife was away on business and then killed his son because he had witnessed the murder. When his wife returned the man told her they had 'meat' but she became suspicious and contacted officials who discovered part of the children's bodies. Jiro Ishimaru, from Asia Press, which compiled a 12 page report, said: 'Particularly shocking were the numerous testimonies that ...

Fieldsports Britain - Grouse on the Glorious Twelfth, roebucks and trapping salmon
Back in March The Sunday Times showed pictures of a once-in-a-decade British deer - a white roebuck. The newspaper reported that foreign hunters were lining up to pay £1000s to have the opportunity to stalk this deer. Find out what happened to this deer on the 30-minute webTV programme Fieldsports Britain. And that's not all. We are: • Going grouse shooting in Scotland the way it should be done - with a piper • Shooting pigeons over stubble in Kent with Sporting Shooter chef Mark Gilchrist • Trapping salmon on the River Frome in Dorset • Stalking roebuck in Yorkshire with Sporting Rifle editor Peter Carr • Following two goshawks from egg to hunt • Getting ready for the pheasant season with Canal Game Farm

A jury heard how she hatched a plot to 'destroy' Chris Huhne after discovering he had left her for another woman. Pryce, 60, decided to 'bring Chris down' and 'nail him' as an act of vengeance after the Lib Dem Cabinet Minister walked out on her after 26 years of marriage for Carina Trimingham, the court was told. Driven by a thirst for 'revenge', she decided to leak the sensational story that he forced her to take his speeding points to escape a driving ban. In one email she wrote: 'I really want to nail him. More than ever actually, and I would love to do it soon.' Southwark Crown Court heard how Pryce hatched a plot with a journalist from the Sunday Times to 'set up' Huhne in a series of taped phone calls which were yesterday played to the jury. Meet Buck
CHECK OUT OUR FRIENDS' SHORT : http://vimeo.com/15126262
------------------------------------------------------
Buck is an ordinary guy. Well, if you accept the "deer head" thing.
Today, Buck is going to spend the afternoon with his girlfriend who's so happy to see him (she's pretty much happy all the time). But when Buck finds out that her father is not the tolerant and sympathetic guy he expected, the Sunday afternoon turns really bad. Really bad. Like baaaaaaad bad.

A collaborative stop motion sculpture
Twenty-one large triangles animated by Melbourne, throughout Federation Square. MÖBIUS is a sculpture that can be configured into many cyclical patterns and behave as though it is eating itself, whilst sinking into the ground. The result is an optical illusion and a time-lapse of people
interacting with the sculpture and moving through Melbourne's landmark location throughout the day.
MÖBIUS was animated over two weeks Friday, Saturday & Sunday between the 6th - 20th of May 2011.

Mission 26 The Big Endeavour
A very special thanks to the City of Inglewood, Chief of Police Mark Fronterotta, Lieutenant James Madia, Sergeant Dirk Dewachter, and to the Men and Women of the Inglewood Police Department. None of this would have been possible without them.
This project was only made possible by the help of a truly amazing and talented timelapse team which included; Joe Capra, Chris Pritchard, Brian Hawkins, Andrew Walker, Ryan Killackey and myself.
This truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we are so happy and honored to have been be a part of.
The endeavor started on Thursday night and went on until Sunday night, with very little sleep to no sleep. The only thing that kept us going was pure love of the art and adrenaline. One thing that stood out the most for me, while I was shooting, was the people of Los Angeles. It was so powerful to see the excitement on peoples faces and the pride of their home town. No matter how many times I would see the Shuttle it would never get old.
This has been an amazing experience that I will never forget. My hope is that this film will show you the amount of dedicated people and teamwork that it took to get the Endeavour to its new home. Enjoy.

Q-Stephen Hawking Master Part 1
Stephen William Hawking, CH, CBE, FRS, FRSA (born 8 January 1942[1]) is a British theoretical physicist, whose world-renowned scientific career spans over 40 years. His books and public appearances have made him an academic celebrity and he is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts,[2] a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences,[3] and in 2009 was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.[4] Hawking was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge for thirty years, taking up the post in 1979 and retiring on 1 October 2009.[5][6] He is also a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and a Distinguished Research Chair at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario.[7] He is known for his contributions to the fields of cosmology and quantum gravity, especially in the context of black holes. He has also achieved success with works of popular science in which he discusses his own theories and cosmology in general; these include the runaway best seller A Brief History of Time, which stayed on the British Sunday Times bestsellers list for a record-breaking 237 weeks.[8][9] Hawking's key scientific works to date have included providing, with Roger Penrose, theorems regarding singularities in the framework of general relativity, and the theoretical prediction that black holes should emit radiation, which is today known as Hawking radiation (or sometimes ...

Chimpanzee vs. Human child learning (1/2)
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING -- Link to Part 2: youtube.com A brief, interesting clip from National Geographic's "Ape Genius" documentary, comparing how a chimpanzee learns when compared with human children. An experiment conducted at St Andrews University revealed that while children tried to tackle a puzzle without trying to analyze it, chimps of the same age used logic and managed to solve it This test shows that the human child, even when given tasks that obviously have no meaning, follows the instructions given to them by the perceived authority figure, whereas the chimpanzees are more pragmatic, and exclude the extraneous steps. I feel that this is a good example of why it is important to raise children to believe as many true things and disregard as many false things as possible. Children are our shared future, and teaching them to think critically and rationally, so they can grow up to be mindful, effective adults that use reason to help build a better world is vitally important. Article from the Sunday Times: "Young chimps make chumps of children" www.timesonline.co.uk NOTE: This is a dramatic reenactment of an experiment for a TV documentary. The actual experiment criteria: ** The children used ranged from 41-59 months. ** The chimps used ranged from 2-6 yo Chimps mature at 13-14 for females, 15-16 for males. ** The box always contains a sticker. When the child gets the sticker, they trade that in for a food reward. ** The child is instructed to get the ...

1 March 2013 Breaking news Iran nuclear chief Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi at North Korea Nuclear test - End Times News Update 3-1-13 Iranian nuclear chief was present at North Korean A-bomb test, reports Sunday Times. by joelcrosenberg Iran continues to strenuously deny it wants nuclear weapons or is actively pursuing them. Yet the evidence continues to say the exact opposite. Now there are new and credible reports that Iran is working closely with North Korea to join develop The Bomb, and that the recent North Korean nuclear weapons test was done in close coordination with Iran, even with Iranian nuclear officials present to observe the test. "Iran's leading nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh Mahabadi, is believed to have travelled to North Korea to observe its third nuclear test last week, according to western intelligence sources," reports the Sunday Times of London. "Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi has ventured outside Iran rarely, if at all, since several Iranian nuclear scientists were assassinated in attacks blamed by Tehran on the Israeli intelligence service Mossad," reports the Times. "He is in charge of developing a warhead small enough to fit on to one of the ballistic missiles developed by Iran from North Korean prototypes, the sources said. His trip may have been worth the risk because North Korea's triumphant announcement of the blast hinted that it was a compact, powerful device." the New York Times reported "The two countries have long cooperated on missile technology ...
