British Actor Bob Hoskins to Retire
Bob Hoskins is retiring from acting after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, his agent said Wednesday in a statement.
The 69-year-old British actor, who starred in films including "Mona Lisa" and most recently "Snow White & the Huntsman," was diagnosed last autumn, according to the statement.
"He wishes to thank all the great and brilliant people he has worked with over the years, and all of his fans who have supported him during a wonderful career," the statement read.
Born in Suffolk, England, in 1942, Hoskins has had a career in show business that has spanned four decades. He rose to fame after his turn playing a private detective in the combination live action-and-animation film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," for which he earned Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations.
Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder for which there is no cure. Other notable persons afflicted by the disease include actor Michael J. Fox and boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

**Note**
During parts of the movie the voice and picture get unbalanced. In other words the sound might come a second BEFORE it happens or the sound might come a second AFTER it happens. Please don't comment about this, it will be deleted as spam.
~~ALSO~~ another problem, there was an uploading glitch where at the end of most of the parts it will show the scene where Luigi asks if Daisy wants a ride, and this scene lasts for about 1 second, again sorry, but that's youtube's fault this time.

Bob Hoskins and Frances De La Tour in Flickers, DVD out now
http://www.networkdvd.net/product_info.php?products_id=1151
Bob Hoskins (Pennies from Heaven) and Frances de la Tour (Rising Damp) star in this light-hearted, captivating series set in the very early days of the silent movie industry. Flickers was created and written by sitcom veteran Roy Clarke (Keeping Up Appearances, Last of the Summer Wine) and directed by Cyril Coke (Upstairs, Downstairs, The Duchess of Duke Street), and originally screened to huge acclaim in 1980; the series received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Limited Series in 1982.
Forty-year-old Arnie Cole is a movie pioneer, showing films in makeshift cinemas during the first quarter of the twentieth century -- a long way ahead of the golden age that will be more glittering than his wildest dreams. But opportunities are opening up all the time, and Arnie's true ambition is to produce films of his own. Financial backing is, inevitably, the stumbling block. But it comes his way in unexpected form when he is introduced to Maud, the snobbish, rather plain sister of a well-to-do acquaintance; at first, Maud finds Arnie brash and vulgar, and he is equally unimpressed with her -- but having discovered that she is pregnant, she makes him an offer that he finds hard to refuse...

Long Good Friday. - Bob Hoskin's Yaoi Shower Hour.
Another odd scene from the British classic Gangster flick, "The Long Good Friday", which had even the manliest of men questioning their sexuality. I can't reveal a spoiler, but, Harold ( Bob Hoskins ) has had to come to terms with himself killing a fellow friend due to some unforseen circumstances, and has decided to take a nice, hot shower. Whilst his clothes are being burnt in the backyard, he proceeds to drink shower water, and soap his hairy gorilla-esqué man boobs in an erotic fashion. Seriously, the only reason I like this scene is the comedy value. It's obviously symbolic, of course, but... it all seems so bizarre, and homoerotic. Especially considering this is a movie based around gangsters, toughmen, and expert criminals. Bit out of place, don't you think? - It is, however, a manly picture of human emotion, and besides that, Bob Hoskin's showing off his ridiculous amount of body hair. Enjoy! Ho-ho.

Dennis Potter's 'Pennies From Heaven' - 'Okay Toots'
'Pennies From Heaven' by Denis Potter. Episode 4: 'Better Think Twice'. Arthur (Bob Hoskins) and Eileen (Cheryl Campbell) are ecstatically reunited through a chance meeting. Their only love nest is the record shop after hours. They decide to 'disappear' together, she on the run from the predatory Tom, he abandoning his hopeless life with Joan. '"Lulu I am and Lulu I stay," says Eileen. If it's all right with you, it's 'Okay Toots' with me.
Campbell and Hoskins launch enthusiastically into a tightly choreographed number with straight to camera shots and out into the studio street with some clever camera work and strategically placed pillars to produce a few acrobatics which suits the high spirited and frantic tempo of this energetic number.
Music: 'Okay Toots'. Harry Roy & His Orchestra from the Mayfair Hotel (Vocal: Harry Roy). Recorded 1935.
Dennis Potter's 'Pennies From Heaven' (BBC 1978). Directed by Piers Haggard, produced by long-time Potter collaborator Kenith Trodd, with choreography and design by Tudor Davies and Tim Harvey. One of the finest pieces of television the BBC has ever produced.
