The Roman Catholic Church is The Whore of Babylon
Revelation 17:1-9 says, "And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."
The great whore seems very clearly to be the Catholic Church. "I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters." The Catholic Church sits upon many waters — it is found in countries scattered throughout the world.
"With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication." The leaders of many nations enter into relationships with the Vatican, whereas they would never think of entering into an official relationship with any other church.
"The inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication." For years it has been known that the priests in the Catholic Church commit fornication on a grand scale — from being immoral with the nuns, or with the wives, and daughters of parishioners; to committing sodomy with the boys of families that attend their parish. For all of these years, people have been in, as it were, a drunken stupor in regard to what has been widely documented for years and years. They just let it go on and on, letting their own families be abused by these wicked, perverted priests.
"And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication." The wealth of the Catholic Church is also documented. It owns many businesses, and is filthy rich.
"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." The Catholic Church often refers to itself as the "Mother Church." It exalts Mary above Jesus. It condones idols, statues, shrines, and the blasphemous mass.
"And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." The Catholic Church and its inquisitions have shed the blood of countless Christians. Many Christians lived in the catacombs and other hiding places to escape the torture of the Catholic Church. What was their crime? Reading the Bible. Having a copy of the Bible. Translating the Bible. Confessing Christ alone as their only hope of salvation — not baptism — not Mary — not the mass — not the pope.
"And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." It is said that Rome sits on seven hills.
The Catholic Church clearly seems to be the "one world false church" of the end times. Many protestant churches are talking about "going back home to the mother church (the Catholic Church)." The Charismatic-Catholics are high in power and influence in these days (like with Promise-Keepers), and they downplay doctrine. That is something that the Catholic Church has long wanted to hear from Protestants. For it was Bible doctrine that drove Martin Luther away from the false doctrine of the Catholic Church, and the giving up of Bible doctrine will draw that same crowd back to the "mother harlot church" once again.

Understanding the Roman Catholic Church
The purpose of this video is to help Protestant Christians and others develop a better understanding of the Roman Catholic Church, its history and basic beliefs by listening to Roman Catholics tell their own story.
The 35-minute program is organized into three parts: Roman Catholic beliefs, Church history, Catholic Renewal. The program includes interviews with Roman Catholic theologians, scholars, pastors and lay people. Portions of this program were recorded in Rome, Assisi, Trent and Casino, Italy.
After centuries of mistrust, indifference and even hostility, attitudes between Roman Catholics and other Christians are changing. Dialogue, cooperation and understanding is healing old wounds, locally and up to the highest organizational levels.
The Roman Catholic Church is the largest block of Christianity. In the U.S. 65 million Roman Catholics are organized into 200 archdioceses and dioceses and more than 19,000 local Catholic parishes. Each year over one million infants and 70,000 adults are baptized in U.S. Roman Catholic churches. Yet for all its great size, influence and long history, many non-Roman Catholics understand very little about the largest Christian denomination.

Conclave of Cardinals To Elect New Catholic Pope
On March 12 the Conclave of Cardinals will select the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. 115 Cardinals are meeting in the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and once the new pontiff has been elected, the world will be informed when a puff of white smoke rises from the chimney pipe on the roof of the Sistine chapel.

Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel: CANSWERSTV, see our playlist "Dealing with Roman Catholicism, Idolatry & the Virgin Mary" at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFFA8D69D1B914715&feature;=plcp; websites: http://www.BibleQuery.org, http://www.HistoryCart.com & http://www.MuslimHope.com) is joined in studio by former Roman Catholic Rob Zins, Th.M, Dallas Theological Seminary (website: http://www.CWRC-RZ.ORG). Rob Zins has authored the books, "On the Edge of Apostasy," "Romanism: The Relentless Roman Catholic Assault on the Gospel of Jesus Christ" & others.
Evangelicals are assured that Catholics who believe in the incarnation, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are true Christians, even though they misunderstand some of the "technicalities" regarding salvation. Such reasoning is negated by the fact that Catholicism differs from biblical faith—not only on minor details, but more importantly on what is essential for one's salvation.
The most dangerous aspect of Catholic Church doctrine is that it appears to be based on the great, indispensable truths of God's revelation. In reality, however, the telling fact is that Catholic doctrine denies essential, biblical doctrines by that which it adds on to biblical truths. For example, while Catholic doctrine affirms the worship of the three distinct Persons of the Trinity, it adds divine adoration for the Virgin Mary by addressing her in prayer as "the All Holy One". The exact words of the official statement are, "By asking Mary to pray for us, we acknowledge ourselves to be poor sinners and we address ourselves to the 'Mother of Mercy,' the All Holy One". The Catholic Church also demands that worship, which according to Scripture is due exclusively to the one true God in three persons, is also to be given to the "Sacrament" or "Eucharist", the Communion element. Thus, the Church of Rome officially declares,
"There should be no doubt in anyone's mind 'that all the faithful ought to show to this most holy sacrament the worship which is due to the true God, as has always been the custom of the Catholic Church. Nor is it to be adored any the less because it was instituted by Christ to be eaten'".
These two official teachings of the Church of Rome show that the divine worship due to God alone is being given to Mary and to their communion element. In addition, the essential doctrine of man's redemption by Jesus Christ is totally different in Papal Rome from that of the Bible. The Scripture declares that sinners, dead in trespasses and sins, are "by grace" "saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast". This Scripture shows that God directly saves sinners by His grace through faith. However, the Catholic Church insists on the necessity of her sacraments and consequently states,
"The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation. 'Sacramental grace' is the grace of the Holy Spirit, given by Christ and proper to each sacrament".
The sacraments, which are declared by the Catholic Church to be indispensable, nullify the biblical doctrine of man's redemption. With these explicit examples of the Catholic Church's negation of essential biblical truths, the Papacy's official doctrine and teaching on all the major topics of biblical truth need to be carefully examined.
"What is the basis of truth?" The absolute standard set by the Lord Jesus Christ is that "the scripture cannot be broken". "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth". From these Scriptures we understand that God's Word not only contains the truth, but is truth itself. The Holy Scripture is the source of the believer's standard of truth. Thus, in His written Word, the absolute authority of the Lord God is totally sufficient for all the believer's needs. The Apostle Paul confirmed this when he wrote, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works".

It is very simple to be saved. Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner, deserving of Hell. Please forgive me of my sins and take me to Heaven when I die. I now believe upon You alone, apart from all self-righteous works and religion, as my personal Savior. Thank you. Amen.
Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it!
God's simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith.
Christ died for your sins. You are a sinner by nature and by choice. Jesus took your sins and charged them to His own record. He went to the cross and paid the penalty for your sins. He says if you're willing to receive Him in faith; He will transfer His payment to your debt, and His righteousness to your sins. He will impute to you His goodness, and impute to His own record your sin; if you in faith will trust Him as your Savior.

Prayers and contemplation ahead of conclave
http://www.euronews.com/ In every church across Rome Sunday bells rang out calling the faithful to mass. The 115 cardinals who will vote for a new pope have been holding what are called, "general congregations" to prepare for Tuesday's conclave.
The last election in 2005 took two days. Analysts believe the number of meetings this time are a reflection of the many challenges facing the Roman Catholic Church particularly in the light of recent abuse scandals
"The last time there was a leader who was heads above the others who was a great theologian and that of course was Joseph Ratzinger. Whereas this time, no it is not as clear cut. The choice could be made between one, two even 12 candidates ... So we do not know. Actually, we know nothing as we have not seen the results of the first round.," said Archbishop of Lyon Monsignor Philippe Barbarin.
In the midst of centuries old tradition 21st century technology has meant the Vatican has had to pass a new rule for the election of this pope. No cardinal must tweet during the conclave. To do so would mean ex-communication. Our correspondent in Rome Fabian Farge says: "Like the Cardinal of Lyon, Philippe Barbarin, all the Cardinals celebrated Mass today in their respective churches in Rome.It is the last act before another mass, which will open the conclave on Tuesday and the start of the long-awaited election of the new pope."

Helios - Short Film
“Galileo was not the first person to invent the telescope but was the first to turn one toward the night sky“
During the 17th century, the Roman Catholic church believed that the Earth was the center of the universe and those who tried to prove them wrong were in danger of being accused of heresy. Helios is the story of how an idea found his innovator, triggering a series of consequences in time. The date is 1609, Italy, late at night at Galileo Galilei’s workplace. He is watching the sky, studying celestial bodies and focusing on the moon. He prepares to see this unexplored world with his customized telescope while some of his sketches and notes rest on the floor. After a gently approaching the telescope, he sees the moon through it –a celestial body full of enigmas and intrigues for any human eye. After a moment, a bright light invades the scene around him, but he does not notice it. This light resembles the silhouette of the invention, this enigmatic form splits into three muses.
These three muses approach Galileo and start touching his back, resting next to him and pointing to the sky. Galileo starts watching the moon differently. He starts spotting data that he had not seen before, now seeming to understand how the moon works and why. He draws what he sees and repares himself to present this to cardinal Bellarmine at church, in order, to prove that the Earth is not the center of the universe, but orbits around the Sun, just like the Moon around the Earth.
Galileo’s discovery fundamentally alters the way humans perceive themselves in the
cosmos.

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.
For example, some people have problems telling the difference between me and my twin sister.
But when it comes to Church music, it’s actually not very hard to tell the difference between music that's appropriate for Mass, and music that's not.
If you want to tell the difference between me and my twin, you'll have to spend some time with us.
If you want to tell the difference about Church music, you'll have to spend some time with the Church documents.
The good news is, the Church has clearly laid things out for us.
First of all, a few quotes from the Church documents:
In 2003, Pope John Paul II quoted from Paul VI: "if music - instrumental and vocal - does not possess at the same time the sense of prayer, dignity and beauty, it precludes entry into the sphere of the sacred and the religious"
John Paul II went on to say: With regard to compositions of liturgical music, I make my own the "general rule" that St. Pius X formulated in these words: "The more closely a composition for church approaches in its movement, inspiration, and savour the Gregorian melodic form, the more sacred and liturgical it becomes; and the more out of harmony it is with that supreme model, the less worthy it is of the temple"
Cardinal Arinze reminded us that:
"People don't come to Mass in order to be entertained. They come to Mass to adore God, to thank him, to ask pardon for sins, and to ask for other things that they need."
Or, we look to the 1967 document: MUSICAM SACRAM:
those instruments which are, by common opinion and use, suitable for secular music only, are to be altogether prohibited from every liturgical celebration and from popular devotions.
instruments are suitable for sacred use, or can be adapted to it, that they are in keeping with the dignity of the temple, and truly contribute to the edification of the faithful."
Pope Pius XII wrote in 1955, 41. First of all, the chants and sacred music which are immediately joined with the Church's liturgical worship should be conducive to the lofty end for which they are intended.
In 1958, the Sacred Congregation of Rites stated clearly:
b) The difference between sacred, and secular music must be taken into consideration. Some musical instruments, such as the classic organ, are naturally appropriate for sacred music; But there are some instruments which, by common estimation, are so associated with secular music that they are not at all adaptable for sacred use.
b) they are to be played with such seriousness, and religious devotion that every suggestion of raucous secular music is avoided, and the devotion of the faithful is fostered;
The Second Vatican Council, in its document on the Liturgy, said this:
The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman Liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given first place in liturgical services.
Because there are hundreds and hundreds of Sacred Music directives, let's just stop reading quotes, because otherwise we're going to run out of time.
The first thing I noticed when I read these quotes was, it's WRONG when people say, “All types of music are allowed at Mass. As long as the music moves me, it can be used at Mass.” This idea is obviously not in accordance with the Church documents.
It's also important to realize that the CAUSE or REASON for this copious Ecclesiastical legislation is very serious. After all, the Mass is the reenactment of the Sacrifice at Calvary. Think about this for a minute. The Mass is the reenactment of the Crucifixion our Lord. Is it any wonder, then, that the Church wants dignified music at Mass?
It always reminds me of the priest or Bishop, who wears precious Vestments at Mass. The celebrant does not wear these ornate vestments to exult himself, or to amuse the congregation. One of the reasons why he wears them is they're the same kind of clothes the ancient Romans wore, serving as a visible reminder of the antiquity of our Faith. The traditional vestments are also a type of “uniform” which unite us to all the Catholics who have gone before us. The beauty of the vestments also edifies the faithful, since God is the Author of all beauty, and it reminds them, in some small way, of the splendor and loftiness of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. All of these reasons are the same reasons why we use Sacred music at Mass. And all of these reasons help us to pray.
Following the Church documents we quoted earlier, we have to be careful what kind of music is used at the reenactment of Calvary. Music that may be absolutely wonderful at a party

The Importance of Our Church Covenant
A mere two months after the Los Angeles Dodgers inked a new, two–year, $45 million guaranteed deal with power hitter Manny Ramirez, the slugger got hit with a 50–game suspension for using a banned performance–enhancing substance. The reason, a “Behavior” clause written into his contract. The 50 game suspension will save the Dodgers 8 million dollars.
Earlier this year Kellogg’s backed out of an endorsement deal with Michael Phelps because of a “Behavior Clause” they had written into the contract. You know them as “Morality Clauses”, but because of changing morals, they have become specific “behavior” clauses.
There was once a time when an advertiser could get an agent to agree to the following clause: “If [Celebrity] has committed any act that offends the community or any segment thereof and/or public morals and decency, such behavior shall be considered a material breach of this Agreement incapable of cure, and if in [Advertiser’s] sole judgment such breach is likely to cause a diminution in the value of the [Advertiser’s] commercial association with [Celebrity], then [Advertiser] shall have the right, in addition to any other rights [Advertiser] may have as a result of such breach, to immediately terminate this Agreement on written notice to [Celebrity]. In such event, there shall be no further compensation payable to [Celebrity] and such termination shall not limit or effect any other rights [Advertiser] may have against [Celebrity] under this Agreement on account of such termination.”
However, society’s views of morality have changed, so contracts have gotten to be very specific as regards the “behavior” of the celebrities. With Michael Phelps, public drug use was clearly prohibited.
These behavior clauses have even entered the world o Big Banks. The latest banking crisis underscored the importance of not appearing greedy in the face of massive government bailouts at taxpayer expense. The government refused to give “Bailout Funds” unless certain behavior standards were met. Corporate executives lost their jobs and had their pay cut because of lavish extravaganza’s and exorbitant bonuses while Americans saw Billions of dollars in savings wiped out.
In the sports world, in the corporate world, in the banking world, how we behave and act is very important, so important that people lose millions when they fail to live up to certain standards.
Even in the church, our behavior is important. George Barna has become well-known because of the extensive research and surveys he conducts. He has noticed some alarming trends in the church, particularly in regards to our “Biblical World view”. A Survey published in March of this year produced these results:
For the purposes of the survey, a “biblical worldview” was defined as believing that absolute moral truth exists; the Bible is totally accurate in all of the principles it teaches; Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely symbolic; a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be good or do good works; Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth; and God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world who still rules the universe today. In the research, anyone who held all of those beliefs was said to have a biblical worldview.
The same questions were asked of respondents in national surveys by Barna in 1995, 2000 and 2005. The results indicate that the percentage of adults with a biblical worldview, as defined above, has remained unchanged for more than a decade. The numbers show that 7% had such a worldview in 1995, compared to 10% in 2000, 11% in 2005, and 9% now. Even among born again adults, the statistics have remained flat: 18% in 1995, 22% in 2000, 21% in 2005, and 19% today.
Varying numbers of Americans embrace the different aspects of biblical worldview thinking. The survey found that:
* One-third of all adults (34%) believe that moral truth is absolute and unaffected by the circumstances. Slightly less than half of the born again adults (46%) believe in absolute moral truth.
* Half of all adults firmly believe that the Bible is accurate in all the principles it teaches. That proportion includes the four-fifths of born again adults (79%) who concur.
* Just one-quarter of adults (27%) are convinced that Satan is a real force. Even a minority of born again adults (40%) adopt that perspective.
* Similarly, only one-quarter of adults (28%) believe that it is impossible for someone to earn their way into Heaven through good behavior. Not quite half of all born again Christians (47%) strongly reject the notion of earning salvation through their deeds.
* A minority of American adults (40%) are persuaded that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life while He was on earth. Slightly less than two-thirds of the born again segment (62%) strongly believes that He was sinless.
* Seven out of ten adults (70%) say that God is the all-powerful, all-knowing creator of

HAGIA SOPHIA ISTANBUL
Hagia Sophia (from the Greek: Ἁγία Σοφία, "Holy Wisdom"; Latin: Sancta Sophia or Sancta Sapientia; Turkish: Aya Sofya) is a former Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. From the date of its dedication in 360 until 1453, it served as the cathedral of Constantinople, except between 1204 and 1261, when it was converted to a Roman Catholic cathedral under the Latin Patriarch of Constantinople of the Western Crusader established Latin Empire. The building was a mosque from 29 May 1453 until 1934, when it was secularized. It was opened as a museum on 1 February 1935.[1]
The Church was dedicated to the Logos, the second person of the Holy Trinity,[2] its dedication feast taking place on December 25, the anniversary of the incarnation of the Logos in Christ.[2] Although it is sometimes referred to as Sancta Sophia (as though it were named after Saint Sophia), sophia is the phonetic spelling in Latin of the Greek word for wisdom - the full name in Greek being Ναός τῆς Ἁγίας τοῦ Θεοῦ Σοφίας, "Church of the Holy Wisdom of God".[3][4]
Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture and is said to have "changed the history of architecture."[5] It was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years, until Seville Cathedral was completed in 1520. The current building was originally constructed as a church between 532 and 537 on the orders of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian and was the third Church of the Holy Wisdom to occupy the site, the previous two having both been destroyed by rioters. It was designed by Isidore of Miletus, a physicist, and Anthemius of Tralles, a mathematician.[6]
The church contained a large collection of holy relics and featured, among other things, a 49 foot (15 m) silver iconostasis. It was the seat of the Patriarch of Constantinople and the religious focal point of the Eastern Orthodox Church for nearly one thousand years. It is the church in which Cardinal Humbert in 1054 excommunicated Michael I Cerularius - which is commonly considered the start of the Great Schism.
In 1453, Constantinople was conquered by the Ottoman Turks under Sultan Mehmed II, who subsequently ordered the building converted into a mosque.[7] The bells, altar, iconostasis, and sacrificial vessels were removed and many of the mosaics were plastered over. Islamic features — such as the mihrab, minbar, and four minarets — were added while in the possession of the Ottomans. It remained a mosque until 1935, when it was converted into a museum by the Republic of Turkey.
For almost 500 years the principal mosque of Istanbul, Hagia Sophia served as a model for many other Ottoman mosques, such as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque of Istanbul), the Şehzade Mosque, the Süleymaniye Mosque, the Rüstem Pasha Mosque and the Kılıç Ali Paşa Mosque.
