Guttate Psoriasis
Guttate Psoriasis
Dr. James L. Campbell Jr., MD discusses Guttate Psoriasis. See more at www.dermnet.com PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Guttate, or drop-like, psoriasis is an unstable reactive form. Guttate psoriasis is more common in the pediatric population and may be the initial presentation of a patient's tendency toward psoriasis later in life. Innumerable monomorphic, psoriasiform papules suddenly and dramatically appear on the trunk. It is often associated with group A streptococcal pharyngitis, viral infections and, less often, with systemic steroid withdrawal. An antistrepotolysin-O titer or throat culture should be considered to confirm the strep infection.
