The Standard Model of particle physics is a theory of three of the four known fundamental interactions and the elementary particles that take part in these interactions. These particles make up all visible matter in the universe.
Every high energy physics experiment carried out since the mid-20th century has eventually yielded findings consistent with the Standard Model.
Still, the Standard Model falls short of being a complete theory of fundamental interactions because it does not include gravitation, dark matter, or dark energy. It is not quite a complete description of leptons either, because it does not describe nonzero neutrino masses, although simple natural extensions do.

ELECTRONS
The particle itself is a fundamental particle and is too small to be seen by any imaginable instrument of observation. So we instead represent the properties that allow the electron to interact. The central small dot represents the weak charge of the electron. This charge entirely separate from electric charge gives rise to the Weak Nuclear Force.
This force causes radioactive decay and its typical range is much smaller than the diameter of a proton.
The larger volume of shifting purple is meant to represent the Electric Charge of the electron. This charge is the generator of the Electromagnetic Force which has infinite range although the drop off in strength is pretty dramatic as we move away from the electron.
The Electromagnetic Force is how electrons interact with other electrically charged particles and with magnetic fields. These interactions make the structure of atoms and molecules possible. This gives rise to almost all of the complexity that we see around us.
PROTONS
The Proton is composed of two up quarks and one down quark (as you can see from the tiny rings of color near the center of each quark.) The overall charge of the proton is positive and so we have given it a gold shell. (Note that we can simply add the charges of the individual quarks to get the charge of the proton).
The red, green, and blue colors of the quarks represent the color charge which generates the Strong Nuclear Force that holds them together. It comes in three different charges represented here by the three colors, and for different colors the force is attractive.
The mediator of the Strong Force (the particle that is exchanged in an interaction) is a gluon. We represent gluon exchange as the occasional wispy strings between the quarks. As you can see the gluons have color themselves, and each gluon exchange causes the quarks involved to swap color. Although we show the quark motion inside the proton as leisurely, they are actually traveling close to the speed of light.
NEUTRONS
The Neutron is composed of two down quarks and one up quark (as you can see from the tiny rings of color near the center of each quark.) The overall charge of the neutron is neutral and so we have given it a silver shell. (note that we can simply add the charges of the individual quarks to get the charge of the neutron. )

2011 Proton Inspira 2.0P Start-Up, Full Vehicle Tour and Quick Drive
The Proton Inspira is essentially a rebadged Mitsubishi Lancer. It features minor styling differences, both on the exterior as well as the interior to differentiate it from the Lancer. Among the differences on the exterior include a redesigned grill and front bumper to make the Inspira's front end look less aggressive than the Lancer, a slightly reworked rear bumper as well as different designs on the alloy rims (the alloy rims on this particular Inspira has been changed, standard 2010, 2011 and the first half of 2012 Inspira 2.0Ps came with 16-inch alloys, while the second half of 2012 Inspira 2.0Ps onwards comes standard with 17-inch alloys). The interior differences include a different head unit, the repositioning of the speedometer to the right and rev counter to the left, and also a different type of wood (or silver finish, depending on Inspira model) used as the interior trim. And of course, there are also the Proton badges all around the car.

What's In a Proton?
Physicist Peter Steinberg explains that fundamental particles like protons are themselves made up of still smaller particles called quarks. He discusses how new particles are produced when quarks are liberated from protons...a process that can be observed in Brookhaven Lab's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC).

Future Car Challenge 2011 - Proton Cars
Proton Cars entered 3 vehicles into the Future Car Challenge 2011. 2 EV's and 1 REEV.
Malaysian car manufacturer Proton has had cause to celebrate having won two categories in the Brighton to London RAC Future Car Challenge which took place on Saturday 5 November.
Proton, which has a franchise portfolio of dealerships throughout the UK, stole the show for second year running with the 'Best Overall Extended Range' category and also won the 'Most Energy Efficient Multi-Purpose' category with its Proton Exora Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV).
More than 65 low-emission vehicles -- some not seen on the UK roads before -- battled for pole position in the three different entrants classes and seven vehicle categories -- from small passenger classes to light commercial vehicles.
The 60-mile route challenged competing cars from the world's most recognised car manufacturers to use the least amount of energy on their journey. As well as low-emission conventional (internal combustion) engine cars, the entry list included electric vehicles, hybrid models and cars powered by hydrogen fuel cells.
Simon Park, General Manager for Sales and Marketing for Proton in the UK commented: "This year, Proton entered three cars into the Brighton to London RAC Future Car Challenge -- the Exora REEV, the Saga EV and the Persona Elegance REEV. We are absolutely delighted with how the Exora REEV faired and its success clearly demonstrates our commitment to the development of export markets and investment in a new range of conventional hybrid and electric vehicles to meet growing demand.
"With petrol and diesel prices showing no signs of decreasing, the future of motor cars must lie in finding a fuel that is not only cost effective, efficient and more environmentally friendly. Our LPG car, the EcoLogic, has already proved a popular choice for customers -- and we think our new range of eco-friendly cars will also be a popular for the future."
Proton's entry into the Future Car Challenge was a joint collaboration with one of its technology partners, Frazer-Nash Research Limited.

My return to IMC's Motor Expo, at last! And it's now ME2012. Our coverage will start it all with Proton.
In this year after presented 2 facelifted models (Saga CVT & MY12 Exora), now Proton Thailand presents the all-new C-segment car called Prevé. An advanced Malaysian designed car like never before, and a genuine Proton. And it's now ready to hit the Thai roads, at about irresistibly prices.

'Scrapping tax won't rob Proton, Perodua's edge'
Pakatan Rakyat's plan to scrap excise duty on cars should it take over Putrajaya, will not rob local car producers such as Proton and Perodua of a price edge over competitors, says PKR.
