Girls Aloud was an English-Irishpop girl group, which was created through the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The group comprised singers Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. The group achieved a string of twenty consecutive top ten singles in the United Kingdom, including four number ones. They also achieved seven certified albums, of which two reached number one. They have been nominated for five Brit Awards, winning the 2009 Best Single for "The Promise".
The group's musical style was pop, but throughout their career they had experimented with electropop and dance-pop. Girls Aloud's collaborations with Brian Higgins and his songwriting and production team Xenomania earned the group critical acclaim, due to an innovative approach to mainstream pop music. The group became one of the few UK reality television acts to achieve continued success, amassing a fortune of £30 million by May 2010. Guinness World Records lists them as "Most Successful Reality TV Group" in the 2007 edition. They also hold the record for "Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries in the UK by a Female Group" in the 2008 edition, and are credited again for "Most Successful Reality TV Group" in the 2011 edition. The group was also named the United Kingdom's biggest selling girl group of the 21st century, with over 4.3 million singles sales and 4 million albums sold in the UK alone. In March 2013, after the Ten: The Hits Tour, the group announced their split.
The discography of Keke Palmer, an American R&B singer-songwriter, consists of one studio album, one extended play, three mixtapes and seven singles. In 2005, Palmer signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. Palmer released her debut album So Uncool on September 18, 2007. The album failed to chart on the US Billboard 200, but did chart at number 85 on the R&B chart. The album was preceded by the lead single "Keep It Movin'". In 2010, Palmer was signed by the Chairman of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine, and began working on an album.
In January 2011, Palmer released her first mixtape Awaken. The mixtape was officially released on January 10, 2011, for downloads on mixtape-downloading websites. The first and only single released from the mixtape was "The One You Call". A music video was also released for the song. In July 2012, Palmer released the single "You Got Me" featuring Kevin McCall. The video for the single was released on July 11, 2012. Palmer released a self-titled mixtape Keke Palmer on October 1, 2012. It includes her new singles "You Got Me" & "Dance Alone" which have already been released. On May 16, 2013, Keke Palmer released a video showing her recording and performing a cover of Alicia Keys song "If I Ain't Got You".
New City may refer to:
A police force is a constituted body of persons empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property, and limit civil disorder. Their powers include the legitimized use of force. The term is most commonly associated with police services of a sovereign state that are authorized to exercise the police power of that state within a defined legal or territorial area of responsibility. Police forces are often defined as being separate from military or other organizations involved in the defense of the state against foreign aggressors; however, gendarmerie are military units charged with civil policing.
Law enforcement, however, constitutes only part of policing activity. Policing has included an array of activities in different situations, but the predominant ones are concerned with the preservation of order. In some societies, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, these developed within the context of maintaining the class system and the protection of private property. Many police forces suffer from police corruption to a greater or lesser degree. The police force is usually a public sector service, meaning they are paid through taxes.
Aloud is an American, Boston-based indie rock band known for its songwriting and vocal prowess as well as using a two lead singer approach.
Founded in 2002 by Jen de la Osa (lead vocals, guitar, keys) and Henry Beguiristain (lead vocals, guitar, keys), the group is rounded out by bassist/backing vocalist Charles Murphy and drummer Frank Hegyi. From 2006, Aloud released music under the Lemon Merchant Records label before signing with Mother West in 2013.
Aloud is currently on tour promoting their fourth studio album, It's Got To Be Now, recorded with producers Charles Newman and Benny Grotto
Aloud was formed in May 2002 by vocalists/guitarists Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain out of an earlier version of the group named Feedback, which included bassist Roy Fontaine. Rob Acevedo was recruited to play drums for the fledgling band on an indefinite, but temporary basis. The four spent the summer working on a home-recorded four song demo titled Don't Trust the Radio, which was released on July 31, 2002 and sold at shows.

For the 2nd album by the girls, about a 30 to 45 second preview of each song off the album The Show- A great track to open up the album. This version is different from the music video version, it has some more elements added to it. Great song Love Machine- Everyone loves this song! no more description nessecary! I'll Stand By You- A beautiful cover by the girls. Not as good as the oringinal, but still great. Jump- Hey, another cover by the girls! a lot of people have said that this is better than the oringial. I don't know because I have never listened to the oringinal, but I think they did a great job covering it. Also I love how it goes than pauses. Listen to it and you will know what i mean. Wake Me Up- I LOVE this song, its has a more rocker feeling to it, which makes it edgy but...
My name is Kang Li. I have lived in Block 230G of Tampines street 21 since 1993. It is a point block of 44 households spread over 12 storeys. Even though I have lived here for the last 17 years, I could barely count on one hand the number of residents I could readily recognize. Besides the occasional block party organized by the Residents’ Committee members, and that includes my father, more often than not, such parties are attended by the usual suspects, there is really little initiative on our part as neighbours to know each other better. In fact, what happens on most days for most residents is that we would take the lift, and be home in less than 20 seconds. Even when in the lift, people tend to keep to themselves. And when we reach home, most of us leave our doors closed. That ...
New City, 2014 Liam Young Multiple channel video installation New City is a series of animated skylines of the near future. In intricate detail they depict a speculative urbanism, an exaggerated version of the present, in which we can project new cultural trends, environmental, political and economic forces.Photographs taken on expeditions around the world with nomadic studio Unknown Fields, to document these emerging phenomena and weak signals have been meticulously stitched together and extrapolated to form each city skyline. In this way ‘New City’ slips between the real and the imagined, between the documentary and the visionary, where speculative fictions become a way of exploring a world that the everyday struggles to grasp. To accompany the animations the authors Jeff Noon, Pat Cadig...
Fourteen-year-old Koyuki Iwama plays a flute near where her grandfather used to live. He gave her the flute as a gift, but never had a chance to hear her play, as the tsunami claimed his life. Just above the din of tractors and backhoes sifting through rubble, Usuzawa Ryoichi begins to sob. In the two years since the tsunami in Japan, the 64-year-old has only returned a handful of times to the place where his home used to be. Before we even begin to talk, emotions overtake him. Standing on the foundation of his former house and looking at the vast expanse of what used to be a busy residential neighbourhood in Otsuchi, his body shakes, as tears mist over his glasses. His beloved dog Taro, whom he rescued from the black churning waters, is clutched tightly in his arms, whimpering. "When ...
The new short film from 1000 Londoners, follows Sophie, a mother of two from Brixton. The film takes us on a 5 year journey, as the neighbours of Thornbury Street come together as a community. Sophie grew up in the RAF, so knowing those around her has always been fundamental to her way of life and she missed that kind of camaraderie in her area. In 2009, in an attempt to bring her community together, Sophie organised a street party. It was a great success and blossomed into an annual tradition and inspired many more streets to do the same. This year, Sophie took her community bonding endeavours one step further, organising an exhibition of photographs of their neighbors at the Ritzy in Brixton. A Town Divided by Stephen Dafoe This editorializing will be brief as the meat of what I want to say is better shown by the 70 minute news film I’ve produced on the Morinville schools issue. What remains to be said is why I put it all together. In covering this story since it began last fall, I’ve talked to a number of people on the issue: politicians, parents, school trustees, etc. I’ve also dealt with numerous commenters who have responded to articles and letters published on MorinvilleNews.com about the issue. Many of these comments have been vile, disgusting, and utterly contrary to what is publishable. That my fellow residents would be capable of so demonizing their neighbours over religion made me realize it is easy to do so when one is responding merely to the printed word. Words ...

June 10, 2011 Killing of Corey Peeace A.S.I.R.T. Director Cliff Purvis verified that the Calgary policeman who first handcuffed and tasered (& later shot and killed) Corey Peeace is four-division officer Stephen Cook. This officer may have motive – wanting to end a lawsuit against him for tasering Peeace while handcuffed and the Calgary Police Service for Human Rights abuses. On the evening of June 10, 2011, Corey Peeace (pronounced Pea-Ace) and his extended family were watching a National Hockey League playoff game at Corey’s home in Calgary. Like many other families across Canada, they were gathered around the family set, eating, some of them having a couple of beers as they cheered for their favoured team. The Arctic was one of the most important battlefields during the Cold War. Could this happen again? Has the Cold War returned? The battle for resources will intensify military activities in the north and the chances of confrontations occurring will increase. Energy reserves elsewhere in the world are in the process of becoming depleted, but there are still huge quantities of petroleum around the North Pole. The potential for conflict over these resources has resulted in a substantial increase in military activities in the Arctic during the last few years. Will we succeed in resolving this forthcoming energy crisis without resorting to the use military force? The Arctic was an important military area during both the Second World War and the Cold War. We talk about Artie's crackhead neighbour and go what some would say as almost too in depth on their screen play about the ultimate ruse. Finishing as we reflect on some nefarious tales from our times travelling through Thailand. Find us at https://www.facebook.com/dictatedbutnotread

Old Skewl Hacking: Porn Free! Major Malfunction Having cut his teeth (and scarred his mind) on hotel Infra-Red controlled TV systems, spent ten years scanning the skies for 'interesting' satellite feeds, in this, the 3rd in his series of 'Old Skewl Hacking' talks, Major Malfunction once again, and with great personal sacrifice, goes down on^winto the depths of late-night terrestrial broadcast television to determine how secure 'Pay Per View' / 'Pay Per Night' systems are, and if Debbie really did 'do' Dallas (she did). With a total disgregard for his own sanity and/or eyesight, he takes one for the team and forces himself through not just one, not just two, but possibly even three whole months^wnights^whours of terrible Cockney porn to uncover their darkest secrets (for those wishing to ...
Nations face many dilemmas as they try to establish policies dealing with an influx of immigrants. God had provided wise guidelines for his nation to follow. To deal judiciously with resident aliens, God taught that there was to be “one law” for all. Multiculturalism was not a part of the national covenant with God. There was one God and only one way to worship God. God’s love for all people meant that he wanted them to come to know him — the Creator of all people. The nation was to be a safe haven for all who wanted to find their refuge in God. A Message to Christians From the beginning, God’s message was to love “our neighbour” as ourselves. And yet in a world of ethnic rivalry, this message was lost to many. God instructed his people to care for the widow, the orphan, and the stranger...
This one-hour BBC documentary from 1987 is a highly entertaining journey with that unpredictable and crazy funny-man, Spike Milligan, who takes us to some special places in his adopted and beloved big country, ‘My Australia’. Spike welcomes us to his home-town of Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast, and introduces us to his lovely old Mum and other friends in the area. One notable lady is the late ‘Aunty’ Beverley Spiers, who knew Spike for many years and - was once engaged to him! In this film, our renowned Anglo-Irish comedian shows that he is just an ordinary person, and we also see what makes him laugh. Spike’s friendly and engaging personality coupled with his casual way of talking to his audiences, makes us feel like we are right there with him. He is as familiar as an eccentric uncl...
The Furnace is based on the Song of the Three Holy Children, which constitutes a hymn of thanksgiving to God for deliverance from the fiery furnace. Three Hebrew captives, friends of Daniel, Ananias, Azarias and Misael (also known as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego – names given to them to “help” them assimilate into Babylonian culture) refused to worship a golden idol that king Nebuchadnezzar had created and he ordered them burned to death. However, an Angel of the Lord appeared in the furnace and protected the three young men, causing the king to reconsider, and decree that no man-made god or idol had such power as he had witnessed. He joined in praising the God of Daniel, and issued an edict that no man of any nation should doubt or question the power of God. The story of the Song o...
Put your tongue in my ear
It's queer but kinda fun
We're the tomorrow generation
There's much to be done
So, madam fashion, darling
Step this way
The modern girl's delighted to
Be risque
Here we go
We're gonna rock 'n' roll till stop
And them we'll drop
It's a squeeze
But if you just say please
Then that's fine
It'll be sublime
The bass line cuts deeper than
The sharpest stiletto
So one, two, three, now baby
Here we go
Here we go, here we go
I'm your sugar-coated doll and
You're my Romeo
Here we go, here we go
Geek or unique, hell
Get on with the show
Here we go, here we go
I'm your sugar-coated doll
You're my hero
Here we go, here we go, here we go
Sugar, give me your face and
Place it next to mine
'Cause darling, grease is the word
And boy, the word's divine
I don't do sex, but I do do
Second base
So I suggest you wipe that frown
From off your face
Here we go
We're gonna rock 'n' roll till we stop (stop)
And then we'll drop
It's a squeeze
But if you just say please
Then that's fine (fine)
