Prophets of Islam with brief history.....
Muslims regard as Prophets of Islam (Arabic: نبي) those non-divine humans chosen by Allah as prophets. Each prophet brought the same basic ideas of Islam, including belief in one God and avoidance of idolatry and sin. Each came to preach Islam and told of the coming of the final law-bearing prophet and messenger of God: Muhammad. Each prophet directed a message to a different group and each prophet taught minor variations in Sharia (or the practice of religion) to a different target-audience. These variations constitute applications of Islam: mainstream Muslims do not consider them discrete versions of Islam.
Islamic tradition holds that God sent messengers to every nation. In Islam, only Muhammad was sent to convey God's message to the whole world, whereas other messengers (rasuls) were sent to convey their messages to a specific group of people or nation.
Unlike Judaism and Christianity, Islam distinguishes between a direct messenger of God (rasul) and a prophet (nabi). Both function as divinely inspired recipients of God's revelation. However, in addition, rasuls are given a divine message or revelation for a community in book form. While every rasul is a nabi, not every nabi is a rasul.
Muslims regard Adam as the first prophet and Muhammad as the last prophet; hence Muhammad's title Seal of the Prophets. In Islam, Jesus is regarded as a nabi and a rasul because he received wahi (revelation) from God, through which God revealed the Injil (Gospel) to him.[1] Muslims believe that God has sent over 124,000 messengers all over the world as mentioned in the Sahih Hadith. Five (sometimes known as Ulul Azmi or the Imams — i.e. leaders — of the Rasuls) are accorded the highest reverence for their perseverance and unusually strong commitment to God in the face of great suffering. These five are Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus), and Muhammad.

The Story of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) - Prophets of Islam - 1/4
http://www.unserekorruptewelt.blogspot.com
Introduction
The Qur'an was sent down to mankind by Allah to serve as a guide, it contains the very truest accounts, bringing glad tidings to man, warning him and instilling fear in him. It is a great mercy and the sole Divine Book. For that reason, it is the Qur'an that people must read and study above all else.
As well as containing the commandments of Allah, the Qur'an also gives people the most accurate information on a number of subjects.
Allah teaches us important wisdom in those sections that describe the lives of the prophets of the past. The life story of every prophet furnishes us both with lessons in faith and with examples of how we should behave in the time and society in which we live. Studying these life stories in detail, trying to grasp the wisdom they contain and praying to Allah that we might do so, is the duty of every Muslim.
In this book we shall be examining the life and struggles of one of these prophets of the past, Yusuf (as), and considering the knowledge that Allah imparts to us concerning him.
Prophet Yusuf (as), known in the Bible as Joseph, is one of those prophets about whose life the Qur'an has most to say. Almost all of Surah Yusuf, one of the longest in the Qur'an, is devoted to his life and that of his family. Early on in this surah, Allah reveals that his life story contains important indications, proofs and wisdom:
In Yusuf and his brothers there are Signs for every one of those who want to ask. (Surah Yusuf: 7)
Since Allah devotes a lot of space to the details of the life of Prophet Yusuf (as), we may be sure that believers have a great deal to learn from it. In fact, the final verse of the surah stresses that the life stories of the prophets contain important lessons for those who possess wisdom and reason and are capable of grasping the essential meanings inherent in creation:
There is instruction in their stories for people of intelligence. This is not a narration which has been invented but confirmation of all that came before, a clarification of everything, and a guidance and a mercy for people who believe. (Surah Yusuf: 111)
One of the great examples of wisdom in the life stories of the prophets is the way the verses do not merely describe events in the past, but also provide lessons for people of future generations while pointing to events that have yet to take place. In this sense, the life of Yusuf (as) has several meanings. When we look at his life we see that Muslims have faced similar difficulties in all ages, that they have been subjected to unfounded allegations by people who do not share their religion and that they have experienced a great many situations in which they have needed to exhibit patience and resignation before the will of Allah. We are told that at an early age Prophet Yusuf (as) was thrown down a well by his brothers and left to die, that he was later sold into slavery and spent long years in prison as a result of false accusations, and that he was tested with a number of difficulties. So when believers look at his life they find a great many similarities with their own lives. It is the immutable design of Allah that believers over the ages have faced similar situations. Allah makes this clear in a number of verses:
That was the pattern with those We sent before you as Our Messengers. You will not find any changing of Our pattern. (Surat al-Isra': 77)
That is Allah's pattern which has passed away before. You will not find any changing in the pattern of Allah. (Surat al-Fath: 23)
In addition to this, after all the traps that had been set for him; the way he was thrown into a well, slandered, unjustly imprisoned and left there for years, Allah eventually made Yusuf (as) head of the Treasury. He gave him power, rank and wealth. The unalterable pattern of Allah applies here, just as it does in every other field. Allah promises in several verses that the faithful will be delivered after all their tribulations:
Allah has promised those of you who believe and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their religion with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. "They worship Me, not associating anything with Me." Any who disbelieve after that, such people are deviators. (Surat an-Nur: 55)
Just as with the other prophets, believers who read the life story of Prophet Yusuf (as) will encounter many glad tidings and learn a great many lessons. That being the case, every believer must read these stories and attempt to grasp the wisdom they contain. A thorough understanding of the life of Prophet Yusuf (as) will provide believers with the kind of insight that will be of use to them in their daily lives and throughout their lives.

The Story of Prophet Abraham and Prophet Lot
Prophet Abraham's (pbuh) Religion
Who could have a better religion than someone who submits himself completely to God, is a good-doer, and follows the religion of Abraham, a man of pure natural belief?... (Qur'an, 4:125)
People continue to argue over which religion Prophet Abraham (pbuh) followed. Jews regard him as a Jewish prophet and claim to follow his path. Christians also consider him a Jewish prophet, but claim that he followed Prophet Jesus (pbuh), who came after him.
In the Qur'an, however, God reveals the truth of this matter by providing certain information:
Or do they say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendents were Jews or Christians? Say: "Do you know better, or does God?" Who could do greater wrong than someone who hides the evidence he has been given by God? God is not unaware of what you do. (Qur'an, 2:140)
Moreover, other verses expose just how irrational this debate really is:
O People of the Book. Why do you argue about Abraham when the Torah and Gospel were only sent down after him? Why don't you use your intellect? You are the ones who argued about that of which you had knowledge. But why do you argue about something of which you have no knowledge? God knows; you do not know. (Qur'an, 3:65-66)
The Qur'an provides the most accurate information about Prophet Abraham (pbuh), for it is the only uncorrupted book of God. If people take other sources as guides, they fall into great error and interpret matters in the light of their own ideas and beliefs. As in all matters, however, believers take the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) as the only true sources of information about the prophets and their lines, for teaching falsehoods and engaging in speculation and guesswork, particularly about the prophets, displeases God.
Only the Qur'an states the whole truth about Prophet Abraham (pbuh):
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but a man of pure natural belief-a Muslim. He was not one of the idolaters. (Qur'an, 3:67)
The Qur'an calls Prophet Abraham (pbuh) a hanif, instead of a Jew or a Christian. Hanif means a devout, upright, and righteous person who submits to God's command and never moves away from His religion. The most hanif characteristics of Prophet Abraham (pbuh) were his belief in the One and Only God and his submission to Him.
In another verse, our Lord commands Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) to abide by Prophet Abraham's (pbuh) religion:
Then We revealed to you: "Follow the religion of Abraham, a man of pure natural belief. He was not one of the idolaters." (Qur'an, 16:123)
God wishes people to turn to religion in a hanif manner, as pure believers. God clearly emphasizes that hanif people do not ascribe partners to Him:
So set your face firmly towards the Religion, as a pure natural believer, God's natural pattern on which He made humanity. There is no changing in God's creation. That is the true Religion-but most people do not know it. (Qur'an, 30:30)
As can be understood from several verses, Prophet Abraham's (pbuh) religion was essentially the same as Islam. In any case, all divinely revealed religions are, in their original and uncorrupted forms, essentially built on earning God's good pleasure, compassion, and Paradise. Prophet Abraham's (pbuh) children and grandchildren, as well as other devout individuals from his line, adhered to this religion after his death. For example, the Qur'an emphasizes Prophet Joseph's (pbuh) address to his fellow prisoners:
I hold fast to the creed of my forebears Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We don't associate anything with God. And that is how God has favored us and all humanity, but most do not give thanks. (Qur'an, 12:38)

The Names of 25 Prophets Mentioned in the Qur'an, Rahmah Muslim Homeschool
http://www.rahmahmuslimhomeschool.co.uk/index
Assalamu'alaikum wr wb.
Insha Allah this is the easy way to teach our children to learn the names of 25 Prophets mentioned in the Noble Qur'an.
The Islamic definition of a Prophet is someone who has been chosen and favoured by Allah SWT to convey his message to the people on earth and to bring them to believe in and worship him alone.
In Islam there are two types of Prophets, Nabi and Rasul.
The difference between Nabi and Rasul is that;
1. A Rasul was a messenger of Allah who was given a new Shariat (codes of law) from Him. And a Nabi was also the messenger of Allah, but he was not given any new Shariat and followed the shariat of earlier Rasul. "Every messenger is a Prophet [Nabi], but not every Prophet is a Rasul [Apostle]. All Rasuls were Nabi but all Nabis were not Rasuls.
2. A Prophet is always a Nabi by birth, but a Prophet become Rasul when he officially receives the post and declares it. For example, our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was Nabi by birth, but became Rasul when he officially got and delivered the message of Risalat at the age of 40.
3. The Rasul [Apostle] receives the message from Allah SWT in many different manners such as, vision during sleep, direct communication with angels when he is awake. i.e., he can see and speak to the angels during communication of Divine message. But the Nabi [Prophet] differs from the Rasul in that he does not see the angels when awake but sees during sleep.
4. The Rasul is higher in rank than a Nabi.
Islam has 124000 Prophets. The Prophet Muhammad was the final and greatest of them.
Wassalamu'alaikum wr wb.

All of the Prophets
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
All The Prophets Were Brothers;
their mothers were different
But their faith was the same as each others
All of them said:
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
All of the people are part of one family; every man and woman
Belonging to humanity
Everybody knows:
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
All the Religions taught how to love each other;
but some people changed
And started fighting others
Then they forgot:
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
So God raised Prophets to guide people back;
to follow His Laws,
Thats the Straight Path
All of them said:
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
Adam, Idris (Enoch), Nuh (Noah), Hud, Salih, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Is-haac (Isaac), Lut (Lot), Yaqub (Jacob/Israel), Yusuf (Joseph), Shuaib, Ayyub (Job), Musa (Moses), Haroon (Aaron), Dhul-Kifl, Dawud (David), Sulaiman (Solomon), Ilyas (Elias), Al-Yasa, Yunus (Jonah), Zakariyyah, Yahya (John), Isa (Jesus/Christ), Muhammad
The Prophets Were Brothers; their mothers were different
But their faith was the same as each others
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)
La ilaha illa-llah (La ilaha illa-llah)

Jewish Professor Admits All Prophets Were Muslim
Islam has been the only religion since Adam for all those people who think that Islam was the religion of the Prophet Muhammad. Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Jonah and the final Prophet of God Muhammad were all followers of Islam which means submission to the one God (not a trinity), not a man, not Jesus but the one true living God that is not born, never dies, never begets and was not begotten

Muhammad ibn 'Abdullāh (Arabic: محمد; Transliteration: Muḥammad; pronounced [mʊˈħæmmæd] also spelled Muhammed or Mohammed). Born in 570 CE in the Arabian city of Makkah, he was orphaned at a young age and was brought up under the care of his uncle. He later worked mostly as a merchant, and was first married by age 25. Discontented with life in Mecca, he retreated to a cave in the surrounding mountains for meditation and reflection.
According to Islamic beliefs it was here, at age 40, in the month of Ramadan, where he received his first revelation from God. Three years after this event Muhammad started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that "God is One", that complete "surrender" to God (lit. islām) is the only way (dīn) acceptable to God, and that he himself was a prophet and messenger of God, in the same vein as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus and other prophets in Islam.
The central human figure of Islam, regarded by Muslims as a prophet of God and the last messenger. Active as a social reformer, diplomat, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, military leader, humanitarian, philanthropist.

Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him صلى الله عليه وسلم ) said:
"My Grandsons Hassan (RA) and Hussain (RA) are Masters of the youth in Paradise ".
The holy Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) would embrace them in his warm and affectionate arms. He would make both of them sit together on his lap. When the verse of purity (Ayat Tathir) was revealed, the holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) covered them along with their father Hazrat Ali (RA) and their mother Hazrat Fatima (RA) with a Yemeni mantle, and said: "O, God these are my household members."
Hazrat lmam Hussain (R.A)and his opponent Yazeed are on opposite ends of the Heavenly scale. There is no Muslim school of thought that doubts the purity and qualification of the Imam Hussain (R.A). Righteous Muslims know that Imam Hussein is a dear grandson of our Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him صلى الله عليه وسلم ) and that he is a Leader of the Youth of Paradise.
On the other hand, Yazeed is unacceptable to any Muslim. All Muslims condemn him and will continue to do so, for his transgression and for the crimes he committed against Ahl Al-Beit.
With such a clear distinction between the two parties, there should be no confusion among the Muslims on account of the commemoration of this great Imam.
