Tibet Foundation - Call Of The Snow Lion Film #3 - Gelugpa Buddhist monks, Drepung monastery
The views expressed by the people interviewed in this film do not necessarily reflect those of Tibet Foundation. CALL OF THE SNOW LION FILM #3 (more on www.tibet-foundation.org ) This is the third episode of a new documentary series from Tibet Foundation revealing a history of the unsettled Tibetan Diaspora. Leaving North India and the Himalayas, we arrive at the Mundgod settlement in Karnataka, South India. This is where Tibetans rebuilt some of the most important monasteries. Among the Gelupas, the yellow hats, we go deeper into the spirituality of the Tibetans. CALL OF THE SNOW LION In 1949, the Chinese People's Liberation Army marched into the Kham region of east Tibet creating unprecedented upheaval which, in 1959, resulted in thousands of Tibetans moving into exile in India, Nepal and beyond. Sixty years later in 2010, we look back into the reality of the history of the unsettled Tibetan Diaspora, their expectations, hopes and vision for the future. From 13th November 2010, we will take you on a journey across India with a chosen witness of the past and present events -- born in Tibet, he has been a monk, a freedom fighter, a diplomat, The Dalai Lama's representative and a member of parliament before founding a unique charity that has successfully been working for the past 25 years both inside Tibet and in exile. Beyond what we hear and what we are told, we will look into the daily life of individuals -- young and old, monks and nuns, students and teachers, artists ...

Persecution of Practitioners of the Gelugpa Tradition
The Dalai Lama's actions in allowing his agents to threaten worshippers of the Deity Dorje Shugden is harming the pure teachings of the Gelugpa tradition. As shown in other videos, death threats, and encouraging nuns to destroy images of this Deity shows the true face of the Dalai Lama, a fraud in monks robes, who is set to destroy the very tradition of Tibetan Buddhism that recognized him as the 14th Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama's Actions Part 2: Destroying the Gelugpa, Kagyu and Nyingma Traditions
The Dalai Lama said that the old masters of the Gelug tradition are wrong. This statement has encouraged monks and nuns to destroy holy images and he has allowed monks to be expelled from monasteries. His meddling has split the Karma Kagyu and Nyingma tradition and caused disharmony within these traditions. Editor's Note: We believe that the Dalai Lama overtly shows that he is irrational, unfair in the ban against Dorje Shugden is just a play to convince all around him and China that his nemesis is Dorje Shugden. Om Mani Padme Hum
A movie version of a prayer wheel, spinning OM MANI PADME HUM, while a Tibetan Gelugpa monk chants the mantra as well (as people have pointed out, the Tibetan pronunciation is OM MANI PEME HUNG). The benefits of this kind of prayer are quite amazing.

Al Jazeera: the Dalai Lama, the Devil Within
From "People and Power", courtesy of Al Jazeera. The Dalai Lama tries to ban the worship of the Protector Deity Dorje Shugden. The Protector Deity of the Gelugpa tradition, the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism he was Ordained into. Monks have been expelled from their monasteries, Shugden practitioners have been isolated from their communities, if they speak out they are called Chinese spies, terrorists, murderers. Religious discrimination, cultivated by the Dalai Lama, the so-called Buddha of Compassion. The Dalai Lama is trying to destroy the Gelugpa tradition, just as he has attempted to do with the Karma Kagyu tradition by siding with the Chinese over their choice of 17th Karmapa!

The Drepung monastery (Lhasa - Tibet - China)
(EN) Drepung Monastery (wylie: 'bras spungs dgon ),(literally "Rice Heap" monastery), located at the foot of Mount Gephel, is one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. The other two are Ganden and Sera. Drepung is the largest of all Tibetan monasteries and is located on the Gambo Utse mountain, five kilometers from the western suburb of Lhasa. Freddie Spencer Chapman reported, after his 1936-37 trip to Tibet, that Drepung was at that time the largest monastery in the world, and housed 7700 monks, "but sometimes as many as 10000 monks. It was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choge Tashi Palden (1397--1449), one of Tsongkhapa's main disciples, and it was named after the sacred abode in South India of Shridhanyakataka. Drepung was the principal seat of the Gelugpa school and it retained the premier place amongst the four great Gelugpa monasteries. The Ganden Podang (dga´ ldan pho brang) in Drepung was the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed the Potala.Drepung was known for the high standards of its academic study, and was called the Nalanda of Tibet, a reference to the great Buddhist monastic university of India. Old records show that there were two centres of power in Drepung: the so-called lower chamber (Zimkhang 'og ma) associated with the Dalai Lamas-to-be, and the upper chamber (Zimkhang gong ma) associated with the descendants of Sonam Drakpa, an illustrious teacher who died in 1554. The estate of the Dalai Lamas ...

Inner Healing - 1. Purification
INNER HEALING Ritual Chant & Music of Tibet Monks of the Nyanang Phelgyeling Monastery 1. Purification Long life prayer for the Gelugpa tradition. Appreciation of Tsongkapa, the founder of the Gelugpa tradition. "The different Tantric rituals are made for the purpose of achieving a strong and stable life energy. This is useful both for helping other beings and strengthening the meditation practise. By connecting to the rituals the disturbing energy in the body, speech and mind can be calmed and healed." The Gaden Lineage
Our lineage has produced a massive number of great masters since the time of Lama Tsongkhapa. This lineage has also been engaging in the Dorje Shugden practice for the past 350 years. The Gelugpa lineage, in an uninterrupted fashion, is still producing great masters like His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche, His Holiness Pabongka Rinpoche and many others - too many to be named here - who relied on Dorje Shugden as their main protector. Hence the Dorje Shugden practice is proven to be beneficial and valid for our times.
