Mark Hunt
Mark Hunt (born March 23, 1974) is a New Zealand kickboxer and mixed martial artist of Samoan descent, currently living in Sydney, Australia. Hunt competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and is known for his raw strength, iron chin, and KO power. He won the K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 Final.

K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 Preliminary Melbourne was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was a preliminary qualifying tournament for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 and involved eight fighters based in the Oceania region, with all bouts being fought under K-1 Rules (100 kg/156-220 lbs). The eight tournament qualifiers were a mixture of invitees or had qualified via other events (for more detail on this see the bulleted list below). As well as competition bouts there was also a 'Super Fight' between Gurkan Ozkan and Daniel Tai also fought under K-1 Rules. In total there were ten fighters at the event, representing four countries.
The tournament champion was Mark Hunt who defeated Peter Graham in the final by third round knockout. As a result of his victory Mark Hunt would qualify for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 in Melbourne, while runner up Peter Graham would qualify for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 in Osaka. The event was held at the Crown Casino Showroom in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, February 24, 2001.

Auckland Aumitagi won the K-1 New South Wales 2000 tournament but was unable to participate. His place was taken by Paul Robinson.
