DMOZ URL Submission
DMOZ is the directory of the Open Directory Project or ODP for short. It is the largest human edited web directory on the internet. Because it is human edited, huge and it has been around for a long time, ODP is a well respected resource for some of the most popular search engines such as AOL, Google and many others.
This benefits you because if DMOZ will accept your website into their directory, then it is like an endorsement of your website's quality. In other words, having your link listed in DMOZ gives you a lot of street cred which means that it is another important factor in contributing to improving your search engine ranking.

3X Top 10 Ranking On Google Page 1 (BUT WHAT DO I KNOW?)
PAGE 1 GOOGLE RESULTS
Getting indexed
The leading search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo!, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages do not need to be submitted because they are found automatically. Some search engines, notably Yahoo!, operate a paid submission service that guarantee crawling for either a set fee or cost per click Such programs usually guarantee inclusion in the database, but do not guarantee specific ranking within the search results.[dead link] Two major directories, the Yahoo Directory and the Open Directory Project both require manual submission and human editorial review. Google offers Google Webmaster Tools, for which an XML Sitemap feed can be created and submitted for free to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that aren't discoverable by automatically following links.
Search engine crawlers may look at a number of different factors when crawling a site. Not every page is indexed by the search engines. Distance of pages from the root directory of a site may also be a factor in whether or not pages get crawled.
Increasing prominence
A variety of methods can increase the prominence of a webpage within the search results. Cross linking between pages of the same website to provide more links to most important pages may improve its visibility.[35] Writing content that includes frequently searched keyword phrase, so as to be relevant to a wide variety of search queries will tend to increase traffic. Adding relevant keywords to a web page's meta data, including the title tag and meta description, will tend to improve the relevancy of a site's search listings, thus increasing traffic. URL normalization of web pages accessible via multiple urls, using the "canonical" meta tag[36] or via 301 redirects can help make sure links to different versions of the url all count towards the page's link popularity score.

Jimmy Wales Closing Ceremony at Wikimania 2008
Jimmy Wales is an Internet entrepreneur and wiki enthusiast, and founder of the Wikipedia project. Jimmy was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1966, and is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama. He worked as Research Director at Chicago Options Associates, a futures and options trading firm then located in Chicago. In the mid-1990s he started Bomis, a search portal focusing on aspects of pop culture, one of the first users of the freely licensed data of the Open Directory Project. In 1999, Jimmy had the concept of a freely distributable encyclopedia and founded Nupedia, by hiring philosopher Larry Sanger as editor-in-chief and assigning two programmers to write software for it. Nupedia failed, perhaps due to being a top-down cathedral model, as opposed to Wikipedia, which is the ultimate bazaar. After two years of working with the Nupedia concept, that team opened Wikipedia to help channel content into Nupedia; Wikipedia became an instant success, but not in the envisioned way, and Nupedia was shut down. In 2003, Jimmy set up the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization, to support Wikipedia and its sister projects. In 2004, Jimmy founded Wikia. He was appointed a fellow of Harvard Law School's Berkman Center for Internet and Society in mid-2005, and in October of 2005 joined the Board of Directors of Socialtext, a provider of wiki technology to businesses. He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.watch the whole symposium on webcast.bibalex.org

Topix CEO Chris Tolles examines the influence technology will have on social connections 20 years down the road. "You're going to know everything, about everybody - and that becomes incredibly useful," he says.
-----
Yesterday's consumers are today's participants. What have you heard them say about your brand lately? This International Advertising Association panel discussion examines the influence of social networks on advertising and marketing.
Chris came to Topix from Spoke Software, a business social networking company, where he was a co-founder and VP of marketing. Before Spoke, Chris was a Director of Marketing at AOL/Netscape for AOL Music, Netscape Search and Directory Products. Chris was a co-founder and VP of Marketing at NewHoo, and led the sale of the company to Netscape. After the acquisition, NewHoo was relaunched as the Open Directory Project at Netscape and became the world's largest human edited directory of the web, and is still used by companies like Google, Alexa and AOL. Previous to NewHoo, Chris held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions at Sun Microsystems. Chris graduated from the University of California at San Diego with degrees in Computer Science and Economics, where he was awarded the Michael J. Olson & Twist Director Grady Cooper "Embrace Silly" for Minnesota State Lottery
Ad agency OLSON relied on the comedic talents of Twist Director Grady Cooper for a new ad campaign for Minnesota State Lottery. The two new spots feature Vikings fans desperately stranded before a game, when one scratch of their Minnesota Vikings Scratch Game turns them into NFL legend John Randle, who literally saves the day and gets them on their way: “It’s Game Time!”
For Twist Director Grady Cooper, this was the fourth project he has worked on with the creative team from OLSON. “I love working with them,” notes the Director, “because they are so collaborative. Particularly on this project, they were very open to the complete goofiness that ensued and really embraced a broad series of jokes. We also used some low-fi film techniques. The end result is very funny, and just pure silliness: Stupid comedy for smart people.”
In fact, Twist’s Cooper and Director of Photography Jeff Stonehouse shot the campaign with Canon’s new 5D camera, shooting all exteriors with existing light only. They juggled a Celebrity talent, a Vikings Fan Van, special effects, pyrotechnics, and a whole lot of purple velour! And enjoyed every step of the production.
In addition to these new spots for Minnesota State Lottery, Twist’s Grady Cooper has just wrapped a national advertising campaign for Capital One, due to air in September. A Director-Editor, Grady is about to embark on editing the next season of the FX series “The League” about Fantasy Football, directed by Jeff Schaffer, who has also directed episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Grady recently directed and edited “The Last Comic Standing” with Craig Robinson of “The Office” and “Hot Tub Time Machine” fame.
Twist’s current directorial roster features the diverse talents of Grady Cooper, Matt Pittroff, Rich Michell, Chris Stocksmith and Marc André Debruyne. Recent Twist projects include work for McDonald’s, Union Bank, Burger King, Target, White Castle, 3M, Goodyear, Namco, (Wii), and Toro.

Top 25 Power Casting Directors in Film and TV
The following is a list of the top 25 Power Casting Directors in film and television.
Kerry Barden
Can you imagine Monster's Ball starring Erykah Badu, or American Psycho starring Leonardo DiCaprio? Kerry Barden can, because he saw them read the parts. "There are so many great actors that sometimes it's a disappointment there's not more than one role in a film," he says.
The Atlanta native discovered his calling while producing plays, then formed a casting company with Billy Hopkins and Suzanne Smith. For 15 years, they handled such Miramax movies as Good Will Hunting and Shakespeare in Love and worked with directors from John Waters to Michael Bay. Last year, Barden started a partnership with Paul Schnee and cast The Visitor, which earned Richard Jenkins an Oscar nomination. Barden's current slate includes Sweet Flame, Everybody's Fine, and Betty Anne Waters.
Victoria Burrows and Scot Boland
"I'm Disney, he's Tarantino," is how Victoria Burrows describes her odd pairing with Scot Boland. That pairing has worked magic for such repeat customers as Robert Zemeckis, Peter Jackson, and Albert Brooks. A three-decade veteran of the casting business, Burrows first worked with Boland on Zemeckis' Contact in 1996 and took him on as a full partner in 2000. Lately, they've specialized in motion-capture films, from 2004's The Polar Express to Steven Spielberg's upcoming The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. Burrows likes the visceral change of pace from live action. "A lot of film acting is internal; it's in the eyes, face, and subtleties," she says. "In motion capture, you're looking for a full-body performance."
Ellen Chenoweth
Ellen Chenoweth was first bitten by the casting bug in the mid-1970s when she took an office job at the Actors Studio. "I was a young girl exploring possibilities in New York," she says. "Lee Strasberg, Elia Kazan, and Arthur Penn were all there. I was putting together casts for Studio projects and people started calling me from outside for recommendations."
Having since served as casting consigliere to Clint Eastwood, Barry Levinson, and the Coen brothers, Chenoweth remarks that her New York residence keeps her in touch with many stage actors. For Changeling, she auditioned several on tape and sent the footage to Eastwood.
In addition to casting, Chenoweth occasionally has a hand in selecting music for movies. "I have done it a few times, such as on Wag the Dog, and I love it."
Sarah Finn
A Yale-trained actor, Sarah Finn was mentored by stage director–turned–casting heavyweight Risa Bramon Garcia, with whom she worked at New York's Ensemble Studio Theatre, where actors learn everything from producing to running the light board.
"She said, 'You should really try casting. It's a great combination of acting, producing and directing, all rolled into one.' "
After cutting her teeth with Garcia on films like 1997's The Peacemaker, Finn partnered with Randi Hiller in 2000. The duo went on to cast a string of films from 2004's Crash to Iron Man (2008), the former winning a SAG Award for ensemble cast. Last year, she struck out on her own with Oliver Stone's W. and is currently working on Disney's Tron 2.0.
Randi Hiller
When Randi Hiller was casting Iron Man with then-partner Sarah Finn, Robert Downey Jr. sang "I Hope I Get It" from A Chorus Line during his audition. "Even when you've done this a long time, you can never forget that somebody is always excited about certain roles," she says. Hiller shares the same enthusiasm about casting. She and Finn -- who recently ended their eight-year partnership to form separate companies -- have worked on Crash as well as several Marvel movies and will collaborate on the upcoming Thor and Iron Man 2. "Actors stop by sometimes to tell us they got a job which has nothing to do with us, " Hiller says. "I love when somebody calls, because they know I'll be excited."
Kimberly Hope, Lynn Kressel, Suzanne Ryan, Jonathan Strauss
For New York actors, no casting quartet is more sought after than Law & Order gatekeepers Kimberly Hope, Lynn Kressel, Suzanne Ryan, and Jonathan Strauss. Ryan, who works on the original L&O; series, says the show "strikes a balance between reality and entertainment," which is precisely the talent they have to mine from Gotham's gritty acting pool. Occasionally, that includes theatre notables like Christian Hoff, brought on board by Criminal Intent casting director Hope. But more often, as Strauss attests, it means having the gut instinct to cast young unknown actors in difficult roles. For SVU, Strauss has cast a transgender teenager, a genius 14-year-old accused of murder, and a child savant with a form of autism. "These aren't your ordinary, Hollywood, Shirley Temple -- style characters," he says.

Actors dropping by Manhattan's Cafe Central in the 1980s could have easily gotten an audience with Sheila Jaffe. As hostess - night m

Once in a while, a talent comes along who isn’t bound by conventional wisdom. He doesn’t follow the rules. He’s a mad musical genius with the vision of creating a monster. Critically acclaimed producer, MC, song-writer, director; Rich Kidd is that talent. The Toronto native is everywhere. Covering magazines like NOW & HipHopCanada, winning Stylus & Toronto Independent Music Awards, touring Australia & Canada, producing music for everyone from Drake to Busta Rhymes to Nelly Furtado and releasing one of his country’s farthest reaching mixtape series (We On Some Rich Kidd Shit 1,2,3,4 & 5), Rich Kidd’s spent the last five years making wave after wave. It’s his 360 degree musical vision that allows him such well-rounded success, but it’s brutally honest charisma, infectious production and fierce lyricism that garner such a passionate, diverse following all over the world.
Rich Kidd first got heads knocking at 16 years old when he took his sound from Ridgeway housing projects to Detroit, producing Frank and Dank’s “Get Right Song,” to rave reviews. While he first made a name for himself as a producer, Rich Kidd’s voice garnered more attention with the release of We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Volume 1 in 2007. This grew to an compilation series which was released annually every July, leading into 2011. We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Volume 1-5 would go on to feature nearly 100 artists as well as provide an ever growing platform for Rich Kidd as a solo artist himself.
Rich Kidd emerged in 2009 as a commercially viable producer when the legendary Busta Rhymes used his production for a mixtape cut featuring M.O.P.’s Billy Daze called “Undescribable.” That same year, Juno nominated K-os wrote one of his career’s biggest hits over a Rich Kidd production sampling Phantom Planet’s “California.” “I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” featured Saukrates and Nelly Furtado and the music video for the record went on to be nominated for a Best Hip Hop Video at the 2010 MMVAs.
We On Some Rich Kidd Shit Volume 3 dropped in 2009, featuring an introspective song by Drake featuring Saukrates entitled “The Search.” By spring, Rich Kidd was on the road touring western Canada with DJ Mensa and would later tour Australia furthering his growing reputation as a fearless, energetic performer. That year he also made his mark opening for The Clipse, Sean Price, Canadian Music Week showcase and Manifesto. He was coming into his own, landing a production credit on Shad’s Juno Award winning album, TSOL and received a nomination for 2010 Stylus Producer of the Year.
While he didn’t take home any hardware that year, he turned the corner as an artist and returned to the Stylus Awards in 2011 with five nominations. Fittingly, he won Artist Mixtape of the Year and rocked the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with a ruckus performance.
“That’s how you perform!” a shirtless Rich Kidd yelled to the capacity crowd to end his set.
“As a performer, entertainer and host the energy he brings to the table most definitely commands your attention,” says internationally renowned, Stylus Award winning DJ Wristpect. “Rich Kidd has a very unique and interesting sound. His production almost sounds like a mixture of some of my favourite producers (DJ Premier, Kanye West, Rza, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Dr Dre), yet it is a sound that is completely his own. His ability to rap, sing, and compose/put together songs truly amazes me. He is hands down one of the nicest in the game and it’s only a matter of time before the world gets familiar with his raw talent.”
While he’d made great strides as a producer, MC and songwriter, 2011 also saw Rich Kidd spread his wings with his first directorial project “Trespassing.” A semi-biographical short film chronicling Rich Kidd’s struggle with his community and his art within a harsh urban environment, it was included in the City Life Film Project and debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Bell Lightbox in fall 2010.
The accolades continued to roll in. While he opened for J. Cole, Jay Electronica, KRS One, Big Krit, Cory Gunz and Kendrick Lamar, the Toronto Star named him one of Toronto’s top 5 independent MCs.
“Take It Slow” served as Rich Kidd’s debut solo single as an artist that same fall of 2010. Fans finally got a clear look at the animated character that’d been playing the background for years and the video achieved medium rotation on MuchMusic and high rotation on MuchVibe.
The UK got their first taste of Rich Kidd’s unapologetic performance style in spring 2011 when he was selected as one of four artists to participate in Canadian Blast, a showcase of Canadian urban talent in England.
In summer 2011, MuchMusic’s Rapcity debuted Rich Kidd’s next video “Don’t Sleep On Me,” which
