Bahamadia (Antonia Reed) is a Philadelphia-born hip hop artist born in 1970, and a DJ who later became an MC. As a member of Gang Starr Foundation, she released her critically acclaimed debut album entitled Kollage in 1996.^[1] The album featured production by Guru and DJ Premier of Gang Starr. Kollage was followed in 2001 by BB Queen, an EP release.

Bahamadia is a respected lyricist in hip hop and is known for her silky, subdued monotone delivery. She has expressed a positive attitude toward globalism as an emerging trend in hip hop. For example, in a 2003 collaboration with little-known group the Sisters of the Underground on a track entitled "Global", she performs lyrics in the chorus which acknowledge Japan, Canada, Sweden, Norway, and Thailand, among other countries, for fostering vibrant hip hop communities, and Japan in particular for the dedication of her Japanese fans. She has recorded a number of bootlegs exclusively released in Japan.

Her reputation in North America has been enhanced by a number of highly regarded guest appearances on tracks by artists including Talib Kweli, The Roots, Jedi Mind Tricks and Planet Asia, and through her association with the Philadelphia hip hop collective Army of the Pharaohs.

3 The Hard Way is a New Zealand hiphop group formed in 1994.

3 The Hard Way''s first release was Hip Hop Holiday, which was released in 1994. The song spent five weeks at the top of the New Zealand charts, selling in excess of thirty thousand copies, and became a Kiwi anthem. Backed by the success of the record and the top three status of its follow-up, Many Rivers, the group released their debut album later that year, Old School Prankstas, which went platinum in 1995.

Hip Hop Holiday spent three weeks at #1 and also charted across the Tasman, peaking at #5. The song featured an element of Dreadlock Holiday by 10cc - due to a mix-up with the clearance rights, all of this song's royalties now go to 10cc members Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart.

By the end of 1995 the boys decided to take a break. That break lasted longer than anyone anticipated, and, despite a number of demos freshly recorded, it wasn’t until a chance meeting with Alan Jansson in 2001 that 3 The Hard Way found themselves back in the studio, signing a deal with Joy label through Sony Music.

3 The Hard Way released their second album Eyes on the Prize in 2003. The first single released from this album, It's On (Move to This), which featured ex-pat R&B singer Clement Karauti, went #1 after 4 weeks in the chart's and made New Zealand music history by being the first NZ artist/s to take the #1 spot from another NZ artist, Scribe whose single Not Many spent 10 weeks at the top of the NZ charts. Third member Lance 'DJ Damage' Manuel did not rejoin the band when they reformed, and the band have been quiet since.

Towa Tei (鄭東和, Tei Tōwa^?, born September 7, 1964) is a DJ, artist and record producer in Yokohama, Japan. Towa debuted as a member of Deee-Lite, from the U.S. label Elektra Records in 1990, and shot to fame via their international hit single, "Groove Is In the Heart". His solo was with his album Future Listening! in 1994 and he has since relocated back from New York to rural Nagano prefecture in Japan^[1]

His concept party, "Hotel H", started in 2009 as a social spot for music industry people in Tokyo.^[2]

Towa began making demo tapes at the age of 16 having bought his first synthesizer, a Korg MS-10. While studying at Musashino Art University Junior College of Art and Design he sent his tape to a radio program of Ryuichi Sakamoto titled "Sound Street".

In 1987 Towa moved to the US to study graphic design and joined house act Deee-Lite, a trio with Super DJ Dmitri and Lady Miss Kier, enjoying almost instant success after debuting in 1990 with their album World Clique and the single "Groove Is In the Heart".

In 1994 Towa returned to Japan after seven years in New York.^[1] He hinted in a 2011 interview that his time with Deee-Lite made him ill, though he didn't expand on the reasons why.^[3] Towa debuted as a solo act with Future Listening! that same year, incorporating an array of musical styles, including electronic, bossa nova, house, jazz and pop. It featured collaborations with Joi Cardwell, Bebel Gilberto, MC Kinky, Hiroshi Takano, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, Toshihiko Mori, Satoshi Tomiie, Yuichi Oki of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and Pizzicato Five vocalist Maki Nomiya.

Sound Museum followed in 1997, then Last Century Modern in 1999. 2002 brought the album Towa Tei, under the pseudonym Sweet Robots Against the Machine. Flash surfaced in 2005^[1] by which time Towa was DJing regularly in Japan. He has admitted though, that he doesn't enjoy performing and prefers producing and using computers.^[1]

Big Fun, featuring Verbal and Mademoiselle Yulia was released in 2009 and was the third album to feature the artwork of San Franciscan painter and graffiti artist Barry McGee^[1].. For the album, Towa utilized MySpace to collaborate with artists from around the world even if he didn't know them, such as with German act Taprikk Sweezee.^[1] Another collaborator he worked with for Big Fun was Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, though they also only met on MySpace.^[1]

Towa has also established his own creative company, hug inc, which among other things, manufacturers his trademark sunglasses.^[1]

Rah Digga (born Rashia Fisher) is an American rapper. Well known as a long time member of the Flipmode Squad,^[1] a hip hop group led by Busta Rhymes, she parted ways amicably with the group in 2007.^[2] She has been called "one of rap's most prominent women MCs"^[3] by Allmusic and "one of hip-hop's most skilled female MCs" in the book How to Rap.^[1] Rah Digga is a resident of Newark, New Jersey.

Musical career[link]

Rah Digga was born in New Jersey and went to study electrical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.^[3] She learned how to rap by studying the raps of KRS-One, Rakim, and Kool G Rap of the Juice Crew.^[1]

She starred in the movie Thirteen Ghost, and she worked with hip-hop group Twice the Flavor before joining the Outsidaz,^[3] leading to a feature on the track "Cowboys" from the Fugees album The Score.^[3] Being seen by Q-Tip at the Lyricist Lounge lead to her meeting with Busta Rhymes, and joining his Flipmode Squad,^[1][3] later appearing on "numerous Busta Rhymes albums".^[1][3] Her debut solo, Dirty Harriet, was released in 2000 featuring Busta Rhymes and Eve.^[3] She also worked with Bahamadia on the track "Be Ok" from Lyricist Lounge, Vol. 1.^[3]

Her second album Everything Is A Story was due to be released on J Records in 2004, but for unknown reasons was not released. Many songs from the album had leaked to the internet in an unofficial 23-track album of unreleased material, and in 2010 Rah Digga released her own version of the album, featuring unheard tracks from the album not present on the leaked version. Rah Digga released a new album, Classic, on September 14, 2010. Production was handled by Nottz, and a promo single was released entitled "This Ain't No Lil Kid Rap".

On December 6, 2011, Rah Digga released a new single, "Made MC", available for download at iTunes.^[4]
