Diplomats are exempt from the criminal, civil and administrative jurisdiction of the host country. Diplomatic privileges and immunities guarantee that diplomatic agents or members of their immediate family can not bearrested or detained, may not have their residences entered and searched and can not be prosecuted according to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular Relations.
The application for a diplomatic post and the nomination by the involved Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the issuing authorities is an extensive official act. The involved ministry will check the candidate's application, first of all, because it is important to evaluate the vacancies and to make sure that there is a need to appoint a diplomatic representative in the country and/or region where the applicant lives. Additionally, the host country will be informed about the application and the nomination. The establishment of diplomatic missions and the appointment of diplomatic representatives takes place by mutual consent of the sending and the receiving country. The Minister of Foreign Affairs or the Head of State has to permit nomination. After this, the involved authority can issue the Diplomatic Passport. The duration of issuance is subject to the sending country, but usually a period of 2-6 months is required for passport-issue. We think that a quicker handling speaks for itself and can not be considered as honest nomination supported by a reliable source.

Ambassador Ryan Crocker, Ambassador-Designee to Iraq Meets with President Bush (2007)
http://thefilmarchive.org/
February 16, 2007
Ryan Clark Crocker (born June 19, 1949) is a Career Ambassador within the United States Foreign Service and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He currently is the United States Ambassador to Afghanistan. He was the United States Ambassador to Iraq until 2009; he previously served as the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan from 2004 to 2007, to Syria from 1998 to 2001, to Kuwait from 1994 to 1997, and to Lebanon from 1990 to 1993. In January 2010 he became Dean of Texas A&M; University's George Bush School of Government and Public Service. He was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan in April 2011 and was confirmed to the post by the United States Senate by unanimous consent on June 30, 2011.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell called Crocker "one of our very best foreign service officers"; President George W. Bush called him America's Lawrence of Arabia and noted that General David Petraeus had said that "it was a great honor for me to be his military wingman."
Crocker was born in Spokane, Washington. Growing up, Crocker had family members in the U.S. Air Force and in Turkey. He lived in Morocco, Canada and Turkey. Crocker attended University College Dublin and Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, where he received a B.A. in English literature in 1971 and was initiated into Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
After Persian language training, he was assigned to the American Consulate in Khorramshahr, Iran in 1972. His subsequent assignment was to the newly-established embassy in Doha, Qatar in 1974 as an economic-commercial officer, and in 1976 Crocker returned to Washington, DC for long-term Arabic training. He completed the 20-month program at the Foreign Service Institutes Arabic School in Tunis in June 1978. Crocker was then assigned as chief of the economic-commercial section at the U.S. Interests Section in Baghdad, Iraq. Crocker served in Beirut, Lebanon as chief of the political section from 1981 to 1984. On September 18, 1982, he reported back to the Department of State about the Sabra and Shatila massacre. He also survived the 1983 United States Embassy bombing.
He spent the 1984-85 academic year at Princeton University under State Department auspices pursuing course work in Near Eastern studies. He served as deputy director of the Office of Israel and Arab-Israeli affairs from 1985 to 1987 and was political counselor at the American Embassy in Cairo from 1987 to 1990. Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990, Crocker became the Director of the Iraq-Kuwait Task Force.
In 1998, as the Ambassador to Syria, his residence was plundered by an angry mob.
In January 2002, he was appointed interim chargé d'affaires to the new government of Afghanistan, and was confirmed as Ambassador to Pakistan in October 2004. In September 2004, President Bush conferred on him the diplomatic rank of Career Ambassador, the highest rank in the Foreign Service, equivalent to a four-star officer in the military. On January 8, 2007, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced that the Bush administration would nominate Crocker as the new American Ambassador to Iraq, replacing Zalmay Khalilzad, once the latter's confirmation to the post of Ambassador to the UN was complete. On December 4, 2009, The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M; University, in College Station, Texas, announced the appointment of Ambassador Crocker as its next Dean, effective January 25, 2010.
In April 2011, he was nominated to be United States Ambassador to Afghanistan.
According to the book, Soldier: The Life of Colin Powell by Washington Post reporter Karen DeYoung, as the Bush administration was preparing for war with Iraq in late 2002, then Secretary of State, Colin Powell ordered Crocker and then Special Assistant to the Secretary of State, William Burns to prepare a secret memo examining the risks associated with a U.S. invasion of Iraq. The six-page memo, titled "The Perfect Storm", stated that toppling Saddam Hussein could unleash long-repressed sectarian and ethnic tensions, that the Sunni minority would not easily relinquish power, and that powerful neighbors such as Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia would try to move in to influence events. It also cautioned that the United States would have to start from scratch building a political and economic system because Iraq's infrastructure was in tatters.

Crusader Kings 2 is a grand strategy game set in the High and Late Middle Ages developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. It is the official sequel to Crusader Kings.

The game features both singleplayer and multiplayer modes which allow one player to control a single character. In multiplayer, the characters have to be different from each other. 2 players cannot choose to play the same character.
Crusader Kings 2 allows you to start in 1066 and play until 1453 in order to forge your own dynasty's history. Crusader Kings 2 is a dynasty simulator which allows warfare, diplomatic actions such as marriage, assassinations, appointing councils and many other things. There is no end goal - each player sets out to do what he likes in the campaign.
That being said, there is an ingame objective: attaining more prestige points than any other dynasty. This is done through a combination of the many above mentioned actions.
The player has multiple starting options: he can start as a count, duke, or even king. Through the use of intelligent thinking, he can expand his borders and reach the highest rank, emperor, however this is not a particularly easy task. Baron is also another rank, however that is the lowest rank of authority, and it's not a playable one.
The "county" is the basic provincial unit of the game. There are a maximum of 6 holdings in a single county, and they can be: castles, cities, or temple holdings. Castles are ruled by barons, cities are ruled by mayors, and temples are ruled by bishops. There are, of course, cultural and religious variations.
A player may have a collection of holdings, and that is what falls under the notion of "demesne". It is limited for each character, and can be increased or decreased by the character's traits. Holding more than the limit allows would incur revenue penalties and lower relations with vassals.
A ruler has a council of five members. The chancellor deals with diplomacy tasks and can fabricate claims for his liege upon counties and duchies held by others. The marshal affects the training of troops, suppression of revolts and is also the main commander of the military forces during war. The steward is in charge of collecting taxes and constructing new buildings. The spymaster has the ability to discover plots and steal technologies from foreigners. The court chaplain can convert the populace of a county to the religion of the liege, and he can also improve the diplomatic relations with religious leaders, like the Pope.
Crusader Kings 2 also features a realm system that includes a number of laws: tax laws, levy laws, and succession laws. The succession laws are extremely important throughout the course of the game, as the inability to establish a dynastic heir would mean game over for the player.
The army consists of 3 types of soliders: retinue troops, levies, and mercenaries. Levies are raised freely form the character's demesne and from the vassals. Retinues can be raised as well, and those cost money only when they're created and when they have to replace losses. Mercenaries are available in specific numbers and they can be heavy infantry, cavalry, or skirmishers. The White Company or the Catalan Company, for example, may be raised by the player.

Diplomatic passports have always been an object of desire of wealthy and important individuals.
Diplomatic passports have always been an object of desire of wealthy and important individuals. The allure of joining a unique clique of special people, who can do things that ordinary people cannot, has always been attractive. But let's talk in simple terms of what is a Diplomatic Passport, what it entails and how to get it.
Technically, a diplomatic passport is a travel document issued to someone who must travel internationally on official state business. Diplomatic passports are classically given to diplomats and consuls when they are posted overseas, but they may be issued to other people in exchange for certain services the latter will provide to the issuing state, depending on the circumstances.
A diplomat is an official of the highest rank appointed and accredited as representative in residence by one state to another. A diplomatic appointment is granted by a government or a department of a government, or by a non-governmental organization. It is a very enviable position, wanted by many, achieved by only very few. To be part of an elite circle and be treated exceptionally under any circumstances has always been an object of desire of affluent, successful people.
Although each host country may have some slightly different procedure by which they extend diplomatic courtesy, an International Diplomat, as a general rule, may expect so many benefits and privileges from the worldwide diplomatic community that they are difficult to list.
DIPLOMATIC STATUS BENEFITS
First of all, diplomatic passport does give some degree of immunity in a host country. It also gives you a lot of other practical benefits, like free perks during your travel (free airline ticket upgrades, free use of a business lounge and spa, etc.), a table at a popular restaurant during busiest times, various discounts at some designer stores, invitations to red carpet events and ceremonies, free parking in a business downtown lot with your CC or CD license plates.
Volvo and some other brands are giving super big discounts for diplomatic persons. The donations involved with diplomatic appointments are sometimes smaller than the yearly-long discounts you can get. With your diplomatic passport you can of course set up a nice trade in cars with big profits.
Some other perks include, but are not limited to, the following:
You will enjoy the privileges and immunities granted by the Vienna Conventions on Consular and Diplomatic Relations.
Your home and office can be officially designated as a consulate facility and therefore are inviolable.
You may display "CC" (Corps Consulaire) plates on your car so that your status is known to the law enforcement officers who may not detain you in any way.
When traveling, you can use the diplomatic channel at airports and will not be subject to time delaying and annoying customs checks.

Kim Jong-Un becomes "Marshal", highest rank of North Korea - 18Jul2012
SEOUL: Kim Jong-Un has been made "Marshal" of North Korea, a title previously held by his late father, Pyongyang said Wednesday, in another sign the young successor of the communist dynasty is tightening his grip on power.
The move followed a reshuffle in which army chief Ri Yong-Ho was removed from his post due to "illness" and the little-known Hyon Yong-Cho promoted to vice marshall paving the way for him to take over as head of the 1.2-million-strong military.
"A decision was made to award the title of Marshal of the DPRK (North Korea) to Kim Jong-Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army," the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said shortly after releasing a statement forewarning that an "important report" was imminent.
The decision was jointly made on Tuesday by several top state and party organs, KCNA added. The title of Marshal was held by both Jong-Un's father, Kim Jong-Il, and his grandfather Kim Il-Sung, North Korea's founding father.
Il-Sung was promoted to generalissimo in 1992, two years before his death of a heart attack, while Jong-Il was posthumously promoted to generalissimo in February, after his death in December when Jong-Un took power.
"By donning the mantle worn by the two Kims, Jong-Un is projecting an image as a legitimate successor to the throne and tightening his grip on power," Professor Kim Yong-Hyon of Dongguk University told AFP.
With Hyon promoted to vice marshal on Monday, Jong-Un, who was made a general in September 2010, apparently needed a new rank befitting the supreme commander of the military, Cheong Seong-Chang of the Sejong Institute said.
"This is the only title left for Jong-Un to decorate himself with after he assumed almost all party and army positions," he said.
Analysts said Jong-Un has been purging aged military leaders appointed by his father, including former armed forces minister Kim Yong-Chun and U Dong-Chuk who ran the secret police.
Ri's departure took many observers by surprise, with widespread scepticism over the official reason given, and analysts saying Jong-Un, who is believed to be in his late 20s, was moving to reinforce his control over the military.
"The recent changes are all part of his efforts to speed up generational changes in the military and keep the military on a short leash," said Chang Yong-Seok of the Institute for Peace and Unification.
"Granting Jong-Un the title of the country's Marshal will help allay concerns over his grip on power."
Professor Yun Duk-Min of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy said the military's clout had grown out of proportion under the Songun, or military-first, policy of Jong-Un's father.
It has been actively engaged in farming, fishing and civilian construction projects while controlling most of North Korea's trade, reported to be $6.3 billion last year.
"Attempts were made recently to take profitable business projects away from the hands of the military and return them to the government," a South Korean foreign ministry official said.
"Effective control over the military will be crucial in the North's efforts to improve people's livelihoods," the official was quoted as saying by the Joongang Ilbo daily.
KCNA said North Koreans were filled with joy on hearing the news of Jong-Un's new title.
"The news spread fast throughout the country, brining enormous pride and joy to the whole nation," it said.

2012 - C2C - High Ranking Intel Agent Discloses Extraterrestrial Presence - Secret Space Program
We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed."
The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.""No President should fear public scrutinity of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers-- I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: "An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them.
Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed-- and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And that is why our press was protected by the First (emphasized) Amendment-- the only business in America specifically protected by the Constitution-- not primarily to amuse and entertain, not to emphasize the trivial and sentimental, not to simply "give the public what it wants"--but to inform, to arouse, to reflect, to state our dangers and our opportunities, to indicate our crises and our choices, to lead, mold educate and sometimes even anger public opinion. This means greater coverage and analysis of international news-- for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local. It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security...And so it is to the printing press--to the recorder of mans deeds, the keeper of his conscience, the courier of his news-- that we look for strength and assistance, confident that with your help man will be what he was born to be: free and independent."

Gaddafi Blames Al-Qaeda & Western Media For Inciting Violence in Libya
Muammar al-Gaddafi was born in a bedouin tent in the desert near Sirt in 1942. At age 27 Gaddafi, with a taste for safari suits and sunglasses, sought to become the new "Che Guevara of the age".
On 1 September 1969, a small group of junior military officers led by Gaddafi staged a bloodless coup d'état against King Idris while he was in Turkey for medical treatment. His nephew, the Crown Prince Sayyid Hasan ar-Rida al-Mahdi as-Sanussi, had been formally deposed by the revolutionary army officers and put under house arrest; they abolished the monarchy and proclaimed the new Libyan Arab Republic.
A Revolutionary Command Council was formed to rule the country, with Gaddafi as chairman. Unlike some other military revolutionaries, Gaddafi did not promote himself to the rank of general upon seizing power, but rather accepted a ceremonial promotion from captain to colonel and has remained at this rank since then. While at odds with Western military ranking for a colonel to rule a country and serve as commander-in-chief of its military, in Gaddafi's own words Libya's society is "ruled by the people", so he needs no more grandiose title or supreme military rank.
Gaddafi based his new regime on a blend of Arab nationalism, aspects of the welfare state, and what Gaddafi termed "popular democracy", or more commonly "direct, popular democracy". He called this system "Islamic socialism", and, while he permitted private control over small companies, the government controlled the larger ones. Welfare, "liberation" and education were emphasized. He also imposed a system of Islamic morals, outlawing alcohol and gambling. Like previous revolutionary figures of the 20th century such as Mao and his Little Red Book, Gaddafi outlined his political philosophy in his Green Book to reinforce the ideals of this socialist-Islamic state and published it in three volumes between 1975 and 1979...
In October 2008 Libya paid $1.5 billion into a fund which will be used to compensate relatives of the
1. Lockerbie bombing victims with the remaining 20%;
2. American victims of the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing;
3. American victims of the 1989 UTA Flight 772 bombing; and,
4. Libyan victims of the 1986 US bombing of Tripoli and Benghazi.
In exchange, President Bush signed Executive Order 13477 restoring the Libyan government's immunity from terror-related lawsuits and dismissing all of the pending compensation cases in the US, the White House said.
23 September 2009 marked Gaddafi's first appearance at the United Nations General Assembly where he addressed world leaders at the annual gathering in New York. The Libyan leader while demanding representation for the African Union, used the occasion to scold the United Nations structure saying the 15-member body practised "security feudalism" for those who had a protected seat. The Libyan leader's appearance at the United Nations generated demonstrations both for and against Gaddafi.
"In his four decades as Libya's 'Brother Leader', Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has gone from being the epitome of revolutionary chic to an eccentric statesman with entirely benign relations with the West."
— David Blair, diplomatic editor for The Daily Telegraph
Gaddafi also appeared to be attempting to improve his image in the West. Two yearsprior to the 11 September attacks, Libya pledged its commitment to fighting al-Qaeda and offered to open up its weapons programme to international inspection. Gaddafi also appeared to be attempting to improve his image in the West. Two years[when?] prior to the 11 September attacks, Libya pledged its commitment to fighting al-Qaeda and offered to open up its weapons programme to international inspection.
Following the attacks of September 11th, Gaddafi made one of the first, and firmest, denunciations of the Al-Qaeda bombers by any Muslim leader. But all this facts now are conveniently forgotten by the West.
In March 2004, British PM Tony Blair became one of the first Western leaders in decades to visit Libya and publicly meet Gaddafi. Blair praised Gaddafi's recent acts, and stated that he hoped Libya could now be a strong ally in the international War on Terror.
On 15 May 2006, the US State Department announced that it would restore full diplomatic relations with Libya, once Gaddafi declared he was abandoning Libya's weapons of mass destruction program. The State Department also said that Libya would be removed from the list of nations supporting terrorism.
On 4 March 2008 Gaddafi announced his intention to dissolve the country's existing administrative structure and disburse oil revenue directly to the people. The plan includes abolishing all ministries, except those of defence, internal security, and foreign affairs, and departments implementing strategic projects.
