Analogue Bubblebath Vol I was the first EP released by electronic musician Richard D. James under the alias of The Aphex Twin on the 1991 issue, and AFX on subsequent issues. It is the first release in the Analogue Bubblebath series. It was reputedly first put together by James at age 17.
The EP consists of four tracks, all done in the acid house style which was popular at the time. It was released in 1991 on vinyl by Mighty Force Records, and by TVT Records in the USA in 1994 on both CD and 12" vinyl formats. The tracks "Analogue Bubblebath" and "Isopropophlex" can be found on the R&S Records compilation Classics. "Isopropophlex" appears in a longer form titled "Isopropanol" and "Analogue Bubblebath" is extended by a few seconds of additional ending titled "Analogue Bubblebath I".
Tom Middleton collaborated on "Entrance to Exit" under the pseudonym Schizophrenia. On the UK issues "Entrance To Exit" is misprinted as "En Trance To Exit", this is fixed on US issues.
Analogue Bubblebath 5 is an unreleased EP by techno and IDM artist Richard David James.
Recorded in 1995, it had been intended for release on James' own label, Rephlex Records, under his alias AFX, as the fifth installment in his Analogue Bubblebath series. The EP would have consisted of nine tracks, in alternating acid house/techno and ambient styles which were popular at the time. However, Richard decided that it was not up to par with the others in the series, so only a handful of vinyl test pressings were made.
In January 2005 Rephlex mailed out black vinyl/binder editions of Analord 10. Due to problems at the manufacturing/mail out stage, approximately 20 buyers did not receive their package. Rephlex mailed out a second batch in June 2005 to those who had not received their order. This second batch included a free copy of Analogue Bubblebath 5. This distribution of Analogue Bubblebath 5 was unannounced. These test pressings are highly sought after and one of them reportedly sold on eBay for over $5,000 USD.
Analogue Bubblebath 3.1 was the eighth EP released by artist Richard D. James, under his commonly known alias, AFX. It is a companion to Analogue Bubblebath Vol 3.
The EP consists of five untitled songs. It was released in 1997 on Rephlex Records in the 12" vinyl format. No official CD release exists.
The first four tracks were originally released on CD copies of Analogue Bubblebath Vol 3 as tracks 9, 13 and 8 respectively. The first track on side B is the sound of a bathtub draining, and was added to the very end of the CD copy of Analogue Bubblebath Vol 3.
All songs written and composed by Richard D. James.
Analogue Bubblebath Vol 3 is the third EP by electronic musician Richard D. James, under the pseudonym of AFX, released 1 February 1993, on Rephlex Records. It is also the third release in the Analogue Bubblebath series, and his third release under this alias.
The original EP consists of nine songs distributed across eight tracks. It was originally released on CD and 12" vinyl formats and re-released on CD in 1997 with additional tracks, and once again on vinyl in 2002.
The original vinyl release came in a brown paper bag, enclosed with liner notes describing Rephlex Records and various places of interest in Cornwall, England. The liner notes also contain instructions for playing the final track of side one (".0180871"), which is two songs running simultaneously, each panned to the left and right channels. All songs except for ".38" appeared on future re-releases. The original vinyl release is the only format of Analogue Bubblebath Vol 3 that is presented with a track listing.
The only available version of the analogue bubblebath saga is all of them together, so I decided to upload them separately. Here is volume 5. Tracklist: 1. (0:00) 2. (9:14) 3. (15:16) 4. (15:52) 5. (20:15) 6. (26:53) 7. (33:18) 8. (38:11) 9. Cuckoo (44:56) Enjoy!
