The difference between England, Britain, Great Britain and the UK.
England - The largest country of Great Britain. Britain - Britain is the name for England & Wales. Great Britain - Great Britain is the island which consists of England, Scotland & Wales. British Isles - A geographical term for all land belonging to the Great Britain. The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland - Also a country. How can the UK & England both be countries? The UK is a sovereign nation like Ireland, whereas Great Britain consists of constituent countries. Sovereignty means to have independant authority over an area. Constituent countries are countries put together to be part of something larger. The capital of England & the UK is London. The national anthem the UK is "God Save The Queen" whereas England has no national anthem. The UK national Anthem incorporates the countries making up the United Kingdom, this is why not all sporting events for England use "God Save The Queen" but instead "Jerusalem" or "Land of Hope and Glory". The Faroe Islands or Faeroes / Føroyar / Færøerne
The Faroe Islands or Faeroes / Føroyar / Færøerne are an island group situated between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Scotland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands are a constituent country of the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Denmark proper and Greenland. The Faroe Islands have been an autonomous province of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1948. Over the years, the Faroese have been granted control of most matters. Some areas still remain the responsibility of Denmark, such as military defence, foreign affairs and law. The Faroe Islands have close traditional ties with Iceland, Shetland, Orkney and the Outer Hebrides. The Faroe Islands were politically associated with Denmark in 1380, when Norway entered the Kalmar Union with Denmark and Sweden, which gradually evolved into Danish control of the islands, but this association ceased in 1814. The islands are represented on the Nordic Council by the Danish delegation.

Kerstmarkt Haarlem Netherlands 2012 - Christmas Market fair Holland - Santa Claus - Holidays HD
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU!! The Netherlands springs to life in December, holding traditional Christmas markets in many towns. Taking place on Sunday, December 16th, Haarlem's Christmas market has over 200 painted wooden Christmas stalls and carol singing outside the town hall in Grote Markt. The Netherlands is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located mainly in North-West Europe. Mainland Netherlands borders the North Sea to the north and west, Belgium to the south, and Germany to the east, and shares maritime borders with Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. The country capital is Amsterdam and the seat of government is The Hague. The Netherlands in its entirety is often referred to as "Holland", although North and South Holland are actually only two of its twelve provinces. Haarlem - formerly referred to as Harlem in the English language - is a city and municipality in the Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of North Holland, the northern half of Holland, which at one time was the most powerful of the seven provinces of the Dutch Republic. Haarlem lies in the northern part of the Randstad, one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe. By the end of 2011 Haarlem had a total population of 151853. The municipality of Haarlem also comprises part of the village of Spaarndam, a newer housing estate of this village forms part of the neighboring municipality of Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude. The city is located on the river Spaarne ...

Our Beautiful World Part One
This is a gallery showing how beautiful the world we live on truly is. They include pics of mountains, cities, waterfalls, weather systems, beaches, landmarks both present-built, and historical. Basically a snapshot of our world, showing the contrasts and the similarities from different parts of the world, set to music. It is in 4 parts due to the size. I have included pictures from every member of the UN and every country that participates in the Olympics. I "divided" 5 of these countries. Australia is represented by pictures from each of their 6 states; Canada by pics of their 10 provinces, France by a pic for Metropolitan France, as well as pics from each of their 4 overseas regions, and their 2 overseas countries, the UK by pics from each of their 4 constituent countries, and the USA by pics from their 50 states. There is also pictures from a few non-UN/Olympic countries. One that is a non-member State with observer status of the UN, the Vatican City. A couple States with recognition by many UN member-states: Western Sahara and Kosovo. I also included pics from Denmark's overseas countries of Greenland and Faroe Islands, and New Zealand's associated States of Cook Islands(an Olympics country)and Niue.

Alex Jones interviews Nigel Farage MEP UKIP Feb 27th 2010 Part 1 of 5
Opening with footage of his recent vocal criticism of President of the European Council, Von Rompuy, rebuking his lack of a democratic mandate and apparent "loathing" of national sovereignty in general and of the member states of the European Union, Alex Jones again interviews the ex-leader of the UK Independence Party, who resigned in order to challenge the seat of the Speasker of the House of Commons in the coming General Election, Nigel Farage. The increasingly open discussion of emergent world government by high ranking EU officials, among them Von Rompuy - who Nigel accused of being "the quiet assassin of european democracy" in the European Parliament - , and Nigel's recent reprimand - for likening Von Rompuy to a "damp rag" and Belgium "pretty much a non-country" - , which he expects may lead to his suspension from the European Parliament, alongside the origins of the european project and mechanisms of the EU are discussed. Farage criticises the opaque and secretive way in which legislation is formed, absent from democratic input amd oversight, that has inevitably allowed for an unhealthy involvement of corporate interests; although not cited the aspartame case was an acute example of this. Nigel expresses his belief that the incompatibility of the constituent countries of the EU, especially within the eurozone [the PIIGS and the BEES etc.], will eventually lead to it's breakup, through revolutions in countries such as Greece, which may have to fight to regain it's ...

Nick in Oranjestad, the country of Aruba
Featured by Nick Lido's Travel Journal. HISTORY: Distinctive, sophisticated place on the face of the planet Earth. Along with the Netherlands, Curaçao and Sint Maarten, Aruba is one of the four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The citizens of all share a single nationality: Dutch. Aruba has no administrative subdivisions, but, for census purposes, is divided into eight regions. Its capital is Oranjestad.
