THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE - AIN'T NOBODY ELSE (Psychedelic Pop Rock late 60's/early 70's)
Here is a mysterious band with a cool pretty psych number which sounds like it's from the late 60's or early 70's. It's to be found on one of those cool RUBBLE Compilations. If you google the band and title you'll find out which one. I've always liked this song and here I am sharing it with the world now. Enjoy!

Some Velvet Morning -- Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra (in HD)
"Some Velvet Morning" is a psychedelic pop song written by Lee Hazlewood and originally recorded by Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra in late 1967. It first appeared on Sinatra's album Movin' with Nancy, the soundtrack to her 1967 television special of the same name. The song has been covered many times since, almost always as a duet. Although "Some Velvet Morning" is one of the more famous duets Hazlewood and Sinatra recorded together, it is considered a departure from their usual fare, as it is decidedly less influenced by country & western music. The single peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1968.[1] As with many psychedelic songs, its overall meaning is somewhat obscure. The lyrics consist of the male part describing a mysterious, powerful woman named Phaedra, who educated the speaker in the ways of love. The male part alternates with the female part, who identifies herself as Phaedra and speaks over ethereal, twinkling music about beautiful nature imagery and about the secrets held by an unknown collective "we". The song was featured in the 1967 TV special "Movin' With Nancy", starring Nancy Sinatra, released to home video in 2000.Hazel Lyrics: Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight I'm gonna open up your gate And maybe tell you 'bout Phaedra And how she gave me life And how she made it end Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight Flowers growing on a hill, dragonflies and daffodils Learn from us very much, look at us but do not touch Phaedra is my name ...

RED ELECTRONS Night-tamer (Early mix) [Psychedelic pop]
Formed in 2006, 'Red Electrons' is the latest psychedelic project by Spyros Anagnostou. Spyros had been the guitarist/songwriter in dark wave group Not 2 Without 3 who, during 1983-86, gigged intensively in their hometown of Athens, as well as in several other cities of Greece. They appeared on a trio of extremely rare compilations: "The independent rock scene" (cassette-only, 1984), "Outsiders" (vinyl-only, 1985), and "AVR" (promo CD-only, 1995; features their utterly psyched-out cut, "Sun is the sun"). After establishing the MeiEno imprint in 2010, Spyros released the Red Electrons debut CD, "Live rehearsals at Soundmarine, 24 March 2008 & 5 May 2008" in a limited edition. The group's sophomore album, "A set of demons" was released in December 2011. An altogether studio affair, it features 10 tracks, and opens with a new mix of "Night-tamer". Red Electrons can be contacted through Reverbnation, Facebook or MySpace.

The Avant-Garde - Yellow Beads (1967)
The Avant-Garde was an American psychedelic pop group formed by Chuck Woolery and Elkin "Bubba" Fowler in 1967. They released three singles on Columbia Records in 1967 and 1968, backed by different session musicians on each release: "Yellow Beads", "Naturally Stoned" (which hit #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in mid 1968)[1], and "Fly With Me". Despite the success of "Naturally Stoned", the group disbanded after "Fly With Me" and never released a full album. After The Avant-Garde, Fowler went on to a career as a folk singer. Columbia released his LP And Then Came Bubba in 1970, and he played guitar on albums by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Woolery became a country music artist on Warner Bros. Records and later Epic Records, charting twice but never releasing an album.[2] He has since become a game show host, appearing on Wheel of Fortune, Scrabble, Love Connection, Greed, and Lingo. "Naturally Stoned" was also used as the theme to a short-lived reality television series on GSN that starred Woolery, entitled Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned.[1] 2. This band is best known for Naturally Stoned which hit the Billboard chart at No. 40. and is best described as orchestrated 'psychedelic pop' (the lyrics may be psychedelic but the music is pop) with the backing sounding like a James Bond-type movie theme. It is the flip side which has been compiled however: Honey and Gall resurfacing on Psychedelic Unknowns Vol. 8 (LP & CD) and being an unusual and captivating hippie ...

INCENSE AND PEPPERMINT ~ THE STRAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK ~ (Lyrics)
Strawberry Alarm Clock was a American psychedelic pop band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1966. Incense and Peppermint is a tune that seemed to be one of those songs from the past that remains with me to this day...This was my first success with importing animated imagery...This was an era that I grew up in...and, being able to put the tune to images now...represents the past that will be forever with those of us who lived it...I just wanted to share this time period with those that remember, but most of all for those that will hear it for the first time.. Lyrics: Good sense, innocence, cripplin' mankind Dead kings, many things I can't define Occasions, persuasions clutter your mind Incense and peppermints, the color of time Who cares what games we choose? Little to win but nothin' to lose Incense and peppermints, meaningless nouns Turn on, tune in, turn your eyes around Look at yourself, look at yourself, yeah, yeah Look at yourself, look at yourself, yeah, yeah, yeah! To divide this cockeyed world in two Throw your pride to one side, it's the least you can do Beatniks and politics, nothing is new A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view Who cares what games we choose? Little to win but nothin' to lose Good sense, innocence, cripplin' mankind Dead kings, many things I can't define Occasions, persuasions clutter your mind Incense and peppermints, the color of time Who cares what games we choose? Little to win but nothin' to lose Incense and peppermints ...
