Scooter riders are being put on notice by the healthcare workers who look after them when they have a serious accident.
A spate of recent Queensland accidents, including two in Brisbane on Tuesday night, as well as dozens of seriously injured riders and pedestrians is prompting a plea from the frontline.
"It's very traumatic for those that witness these incidents. We often have bystanders who are required to render immediate first aid and call triple zero." - Lachlan Parker, Queensland Ambulance Service.

1. With an area of 1,852,642 km² square kilometres, Queensland is the second largest state in Australia. The biggest is Western Australia. Queensland is nearly five times the size of Japan, seven times the size of Great Britain, and two and a half times the size of Texas. Queensland is home to more than 4 million people.
2. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606. The Australian frontier wars is a term applied by some historians to violent conflicts between Indigenous Australians and white settlers during the British colonization of Australia. A war, sometimes called a "war of extermination", erupted between Aborigines and settlers in colonial Queensland. The Frontier War was notable for being the most bloody in Australia, perhaps due to Queensland's larger pre-contact indigenous population when compared to the other Australian colonies.
3. Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples.T he area was chosen as a place for secondary offenders from the Sydney Colony.
4. Queensland has five of Australia's eleven World Natural Heritage areas. These include the Scenic Rim National Parks, Fraser Island, Riversleigh Fossil Fields, the Wet Tropics (including Daintree National Park), and one of the Wonders of the World—the Great Barrier Reef.
5. Far North Queensland is home to World’s Largest Living Organism. Also known as the Great Barrier Reef; this underwater world is literally the largest living thing on the planet, reaching over 348,700 km². Believe it or not, the Great Barrier Reef is larger than the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Holland all combined!
6. The Daintree Rainforest is the oldest rainforest in the world. Thought to be over 165 million years old, the Daintree Rainforest is the oldest continuously surviving tropical rainforest in the world! Reaching over 1200 km², this place has been breathing longer than I can even comprehend. Its ancient age means that some of the plants here even co-existed with Dinosaurs.
7. For the most part, the beaches around Far North Queensland aren’t a place that you want to swim! During the summer months – between October to May – the box jellyfish (aka. the most deadly animal on planet earth) are quite prevalent close to the shores. Swimming in the ocean is only possible in the specifically designed stinger enclosures, which are only at a few of Queensland’s many beaches. If that isn’t enough, saltwater crocodiles also lurk not far from the shore and have been known to strike throughout the year. Crocodile attacks aren’t an overly regular occurrence, but they’re certainly not an animal that you want to mess with!

Queensland
Queensland (abbreviated as Qld) is the second-largest and third-most-populous state in Australia. Situated in the north-east of the country, it is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean. Queensland has a population of 4,750,500, concentrated along the coast and particularly in the state's South East. The state is the world's sixth largest sub-national entity, with an area of 1,852,642 km2. The capital and largest city in the state is Brisbane, Australia's third largest city. Often referred to as the "Sunshine State", Queensland is home to 10 of Australia's 30 largest cities and is the nation's third largest economy.
Queensland was first inhabited by Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606, who explored the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula near present-day Weipa. In 1770, Lieutenant James Cook claimed the east coast of Australia for the Kingdom of Great Britain. The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788 by Governor Arthur Phillip at Sydney; New South Wales at that time included all of what is now Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. Queensland was explored in subsequent decades until the establishment of a penal colony at Brisbane in 1824 by John Oxley. Penal transportation ceased in 1839 and free settlement was allowed from 1842.

John Ruane says he was inspired by a newspaper article about a slaughter man who killed his de facto wife and then got drunk for two days. He decided to remove the killing aspect, concentrate on the relationship. Ruane:
The film was made with money from the Experimental Film and Television Fund while John Ruane was a film student at the Swinburne College of Technology in Melbourne.

Queensland is nearly five times the size of Japan, seven times the size of Great Britain, and two and a half times the size of Texas. Queensland is home to more than 4 million people.
2. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606. The Australian frontier wars is a term applied by some historians to violent conflicts between Indigenous Australians and white settlers during the British colonization of Australia. A war, sometimes called a "war of extermination", erupted between Aborigines and settlers in colonial Queensland. The Frontier War was notable for being the most bloody in Australia, perhaps due to Queensland's larger pre-contact indigenous population when compared to the other Australian colonies.
3. Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples.T he area was chosen as a place for secondary offenders from the Sydney Colony.
4. Queensland has five of Australia's eleven World Natural Heritage areas. These include the Scenic Rim National Parks, Fraser Island, Riversleigh Fossil Fields, the Wet Tropics (including Daintree National Park), and one of the Wonders of the World—the Great Barrier Reef.
5. Far North Queensland is home to World’s Largest Living Organism. Also known as the Great Barrier Reef; this underwater world is literally the largest living thing on the planet, reaching over 348,700 km². Believe it or not, the Great Barrier Reef is larger than the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Holland all combined!
6. The Daintree Rainforest is the oldest rainforest in the world. Thought to be over 165 million years old, the Daintree Rainforest is the oldest continuously surviving tropical rainforest in the world! Reaching over 1200 km², this place has been breathing longer than I can even comprehend. Its ancient age means that some of the plants here even co-existed with Dinosaurs.
7. For the most part, the beaches around Far North Queensland aren’t a place that you want to swim! During the summer months – between October to May – the box jellyfish (aka. the most deadly animal on planet earth) are quite prevalent close to the shores. Swimming in the ocean is only possible in the specifically designed stinger enclosures, which are only at a few of Queensland’s many beaches. If that isn’t enough, saltwater crocodiles also lurk not far from the shore and have been known to strike throughout the year. Crocodile attacks aren’t an overly regular occurrence, but they’re certainly not an animal that you want to mess with!

Scooter riders are being put on notice by the healthcare workers who look after them when they have a serious accident.
A spate of recent Queensland accidents, including two in Brisbane on Tuesday night, as well as dozens of seriously injured riders and pedestrians is prompting a plea from the frontline.
"It's very traumatic for those that witness these incidents. We often have bystanders who are required to render immediate first aid and call triple zero." - Lachlan Parker, Queensland Ambulance Service.

1. With an area of 1,852,642 km² square kilometres, Queensland is the second largest state in Australia. The biggest is Western Australia. Queensland is nearly five times the size of Japan, seven times the size of Great Britain, and two and a half times the size of Texas. Queensland is home to more than 4 million people.
2. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606. The Australian frontier wars is a term applied by some historians to violent conflicts between Indigenous Australians and white settlers during the British colonization of Australia. A war, sometimes called a "war of extermination", erupted between Aborigines and settlers in colonial Queensland. The Frontier War was notable for being the most bloody in Australia, perhaps due to Queensland's larger pre-contact indigenous population when compared to the other Australian colonies.
3. Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples.T he area was chosen as a place for secondary offenders from the Sydney Colony.
4. Queensland has five of Australia's eleven World Natural Heritage areas. These include the Scenic Rim National Parks, Fraser Island, Riversleigh Fossil Fields, the Wet Tropics (including Daintree National Park), and one of the Wonders of the World—the Great Barrier Reef.
5. Far North Queensland is home to World’s Largest Living Organism. Also known as the Great Barrier Reef; this underwater world is literally the largest living thing on the planet, reaching over 348,700 km². Believe it or not, the Great Barrier Reef is larger than the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Holland all combined!
6. The Daintree Rainforest is the oldest rainforest in the world. Thought to be over 165 million years old, the Daintree Rainforest is the oldest continuously surviving tropical rainforest in the world! Reaching over 1200 km², this place has been breathing longer than I can even comprehend. Its ancient age means that some of the plants here even co-existed with Dinosaurs.
7. For the most part, the beaches around Far North Queensland aren’t a place that you want to swim! During the summer months – between October to May – the box jellyfish (aka. the most deadly animal on planet earth) are quite prevalent close to the shores. Swimming in the ocean is only possible in the specifically designed stinger enclosures, which are only at a few of Queensland’s many beaches. If that isn’t enough, saltwater crocodiles also lurk not far from the shore and have been known to strike throughout the year. Crocodile attacks aren’t an overly regular occurrence, but they’re certainly not an animal that you want to mess with!
