The Associated Baptist Press (ABP) was founded in 1990 as an independent Baptist news agency. ABP has no headquarters office; its staff is located in various locations in four states with an office in Washington, D.C. housing the organization's Washington Bureau. ABP is a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship partner.

Baptist Press (BP) is the official news service of the Southern Baptist Convention and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.

The service was originally formed at the suggestion of the editors of the State convention newspapers in 1946. Since then, it has grown into the largest religious news service in the United States^{[citation needed]} and has four bureaus located in:

Baptist Press is supported by contributions from Southern Baptists to the SBC Cooperative Program.

BP Sports, formed in September 2000, is a division of Baptist Press that provides daily scores and sports features from the 56 colleges and universities affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.

The service also provides special features on professional athletes and coaches who use their position in sports to promote the Christian faith.

Ergun Michael Caner (b. November 3, 1966) is a Swedish-American academic, author, and Baptist minister. Caner's mother converted to Islam, and the couple chose to raise Caner in the Islamic faith. He emigrated to the United States at a young age and converted to Christianity in the early 1980s.

Caner is the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Arlington Baptist College. He is a professor of theology and church history, and was the former dean at the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Graduate School of Liberty University.

He has authored and co-authored several books, many of which discuss Islam and Christianity. His book Unveiling Islam, co-authored with his brother Emir, sold more than 200,000 copies and has been translated into six languages. It also received a 2003 Gold Medallion Book award by the Evangelical Christian Publisher's Association.

Caner was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1966. His mother, Monica Inez Caner, married Acar and converted to Islam for her husband.

Thomas Chester "Chet" Edwards (born November 24, 1951) is a former member of the United States House of Representatives from Texas. He represented a district based in Waco, Texas from 1991 to 2011, and served in the Texas Senate from 1983 until 1990. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Edwards was on Barack Obama's Vice Presidential shortlist in 2008.

A Waco resident, Edwards was born in Corpus Christi. He graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1974, earning a bachelor's degree in economics. One of his professors was future U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator Phil Gramm. Upon graduation, he received the Earl Rudder Award, which is given to two outstanding seniors.

After graduation, Edwards worked as an aide to Congressman Olin E. Teague for three years. When Teague announced his retirement in 1978, Edwards ran in the Democratic primary to succeed him. He lost by only 115 votes to his former professor, Phil Gramm, who switched to Republican affiliation in 1983.

In 1981, Edwards earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He then went to work for the Trammell Crow Company as a commercial real estate agent. Later, Edwards purchased several rural radio stations in South Texas.

Lewis & Clark College is a private college located in Portland, Oregon, U.S. It has an undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences, a School of Law, and a Graduate School of Education and Counseling. Lewis & Clark is a member of the Annapolis Group of colleges with athletic programs competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III Northwest Conference. Originally chartered as the Albany Collegiate Institute in 1867 in the town of Albany, the school moved to the Portland campus in 1938 and in 1942 adopted the name Lewis & Clark College after the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Today, the three schools and their supporting offices occupy a campus of 137 acres (554,000 m²), centered on the M. Lloyd Frank Estate on Palatine Hill in the Collins View neighborhood of Southwest Portland.
