She (Meera) was lonely girl away from twelve long years. Her father (Ashok Kumar) had sent her as a child to residential school in Nainital and all these years she was not even once allowed to visit her home, This indifferent attitude of her father she couldn’t understand, Did he hate her so much that he was not prepared to see her face? The School Matron (Nirupa Roy) also hated her for no reason and she couldn't understand this feeling of hate. A young handsome boy (Joy Mukherjee) came into her life and whispered those sublime words I Love You. Nobody had ever said this to her. A surge of emotions ran through her body and she wanted to belong to him. She was extremely happy but her happiness came to an abrupt end, when the matron (Mridula Rani) demanded her rustication from school for misconduct. Examinations over, she was awaiting the instruction from her father to return home instead she was asked to proceed to Kashmir for her vacation. She was terribly hurt and decide to disobey his orders, because she was more anxious to see her father her home. The moment she reached her hometown, people thought she was crazy, off her mind. She was informed that her father was an alcoholic maniac and had murdered his wife and infant child. She hesitated, but gathered strength to face the disaster. It was unique welcome for a girl returning home. Her father didn’t take her in his arms, did’t kiss her, not talked her. He did;t approve her homecoming. Once again she found herself in that suffocating atmosphere of hate, and thought loudly to her self, the day mankind got rid of this feeling of mistrust and hate, there will be no hard feelings, no conflicts, no war. Love alone can convert this universe into heaven. She was keen to live in heaven, not in hell.. Can She make it ?
