Nintendo Wii 480p versus 480i
Comparison of the Wii's 480p (with component) and 480i (with composite).
I recommend the rocket fish component cables, they are half the price of the official nintendo cables and feel higher quality.
480p enhances the color's of the wii, making them vibrant, as well as increasing the resolution, decreasing pixillation.
Please note that the quality has been slightly reduced when being processed through my video editing program. In the future, I'll have a better editor allowing me to freely create higher quality videos for you, my viewers.
Gameplay Recorded with Hauppauge HD PVR.
Commentary recorded with Snowball Mic.

Sony HDR-CX560V camcorder test (480i 16:9 mode)
Sony is the only brand of AVCHD camcorders which also support recording standard definition MPEG2 video in both standard 4:3 and widescreen 16:9 aspect ratios (as far as I know). Here I test the HDR-CX560V Handycam's ability to record 720x480 interlaced widescreen MPEG2 video with stereo audio (the built-in mic also supports 5.1 channel surround sound). This is also one of the few models which still includes the Nightshot infrared night vision system.
However, I am not overly impressed with the image quality in SD mode. Sony's downscaling to standard definition on this model is rather soft and over-smoothened, although there might be an option to increase the sharpness of the video (I didn't get a chance to look through all the menus). Also the built-in wide-angle lens gives somewhat of a weird "concave" look to the image when you're fully zoomed out. And finally, the autofocus was a little slow to respond at times.

Lets see how the ABT-102 card handles a Tate 480i input. For this test I have used ESPGaluda on the PlayStation 2. I am playing through stage one with Game Mode 1 enabled. No extra effects were added to the video, this is the raw Hauppauge HD PVR2 file.

SU20 SERIES #2: ABT-102 480i Test
Check out my blog: http://www.pinkbullets.co.uk
Continuing this short series of videos on the ISIS SU20 (aka the rebadged DVDO VP20).
Lets see how the ABT-102 card handles a 480i input. For this test I have used ESPGaluda on the PlayStation 2. I am playing through stage one with Game Mode 1 enabled for the first run. The second run of stage one I am using Game Mode 2.
For your reference I have displayed the information on screen during both runs. And yes, I know, I left the output at 16:9 instead of 4:3 by mistake so please forgive that!
The video was edited with Sony Vegas to a 640x480 output. No extra effects were added to the video, it was simply edited for continuity purposes.
I think you can spot a good few differences between both videos. Most notably in the second video a much harsher deinterlacing effect. Note some of the streaky lines in the shadows of the bigger ships. This isn't present at all in the first video.
Personally I think Game Mode 1 is better for capturing, but Game Mode 2 is better for playing games. So, when you are not capturing, I think Game Mode 2 is the better choice. It just doesn't look as good on the HDPVR2 I think.

NHL 13 PS3 Demo 480i Performance Issues
Posting this for the EA Boards so the issue can be looked at. This is not to show off my skill, I'm learning more how to play goalie in-game than skating. This is just to show the issues present in the NHL 13 Demo on PS3 for SDTV(480i) users.
There were FPS Drops while playing, I think the upload exaggerated them here though. They do happen around the time it usually stutters though. You can see the cutscenes are fine, it's just gameplay has issues.
This video does show off the Audio Issues playing on 480i. The most obvious being the crowd dropping in and out. There's also the commentators being real late on calls but in this video it doesn't seem like that happened. There's also the very late warnings issue showcased here, one of the Offside Warnings coming extremely late. You hear the players on ice yelling offsides at least 5+ seconds before the warning pops up.
There's also the issue of Line Changes causing actions that the player doesn't trigger. I can't really show this as I'd have to have a PiP of my hands using the controller, but I swear there's at least one time when the line change popped up that it shot the puck back into the defensive zone, and I didn't do it.
Really hope to see this fixed on release.
