Producer: Laurent Bouzereau, Freeman A. Davies, Lawrence Gordon, Walter Hill, Frank Marshall, Joel Silver
Screenwriter: Sol Yurick, David Shaber, Walter Hill
Film Description: Walter Hill's hip, super-stylized action film unfurls in a dystopian near-future, when various gangs control New York City. Each gang sports a unique moniker ('The Warriors,' 'The Baseball Furies,' 'The Rogues'), with a costume underscoring its "theme"; each, in turn, is also responsible for one geographic area. Hill sets up the landscape as a massive, violent playground - replete with bridges, vacant subway tunnels, parks, abandoned buildings and the like, all ripe for exploration and adventure. As the tale opens, the titular Coney Island has traveled to the Bronx to attend a city-wide meeting of all gangs; at that event, however, the psychotic leader of a rival gang, The Rogues (David Patrick Kelly of Dreamscape) assassinates the head of the city's foremost gang, but The Warriors are pegged as culpable. This sends the gang fleeing through the labyrinthine city. With every thug in Manhattan in vicious, homicidal pursuit, they must also overcome all obstacles in their way. Throughout, Hill keeps the onscreen violence absurd, exaggerated and unrealistic, downplaying death to an extreme degree; despite this fact, the film sparked a massive amount of controversy and an ugly backlash for allegedly inciting violence and destruction in several theaters where it initially played. James Remar, Michael Beck and Deborah Van Valkenburgh lead the ensemble cast.

A funny and beautiful cinematic moment from Amanda Plummer and Mercedes Ruehl(who won the Oscar for best supporting role) in Terry Gilliam's 'The Fisher King' (1991).

Too Beautiful To Die. Too Wild To Live.
Based on a true story. In a star-making performance, Angelina Jolie stars as Gia, a gorgeous Philadelphia native who arrives in New York City to become a model and immediately makes an impression on high-powered agent Wilhelmina Cooper (Faye Dunaway). Gia's fierce good looks make her a star, as does her willingness to pose nude. Gia becomes entangled in a passionate affair with a photographer's assistant, Linda (Elizabeth Mithcell), but Linda is more conflicted about her bisexuality, driving Gia away and fueling the model's craving for mood-altering drugs. Failed attempts at reconciliation with both Linda and her mother Kathleen (Mercedes Ruehl) drive Gia further over the edge from cocaine to heroin, her emaciated body and sunken eyes becoming the catalyst for the "heroin chic" look. Although Gia is eventually able to kick her powerful habit, she learns that an infected needle has resulted in her contracting the AIDS virus. For the second year in a row, a made-for-TV film resulted in an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe victory for Jolie.

Richard Dreyfuss in "Lost In Yonkers" 1993 Movie Trailer
Richard Dreyfuss, Mercedes Ruehl and Irene Worth star in the acclaimed film adaptation of Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy, Lost in Yonkers. Set during World War II, Lost in Yonkers tells the story of two brothers who are sent to live with their domineering grandmother after their mother's death.
Strong as steel and twice as cold, Grandma Kurnitz (Worth) rules her roost with an iron fist. And caught in her grasp is the boys' lovely Aunt Bella (Ruehl), who has the mind of a child and the dreams of a woman. But when Uncle Louie (Dreyfuss), a small-time gangster with plenty of 'moxie' arrives, everyone gets a surprising second chance at happiness.
Worth and Ruehl both won Tony Awards for their stage performances, and Dreyfuss adds a scene-stealing turn as Louie. Together with Neil Simon and director Martha Coolidge (Rambling Rose), this remarkable trio of actors makes Lost in Yonkers a magical, must-see voyage of discovery.
