Bart Steven Oates (born December 16, 1958 in Mesa, Arizona) is a former American football player in the National Football League for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. He played center for the Giants from 1985-93 and with the 49ers from 1994-95. He was a member of the Giants teams that won Super Bowls XXI and XXV and the 49ers team that won Super Bowl XXIX.

Oates played college football at Brigham Young University, originally entering in 1977 before serving an LDS mission in Las Vegas, Nevada then later joining the Cougars football team. Oates was inducted into the BYU athletic Hall of Fame in 1992.

The Giants signed Oates in 1985 at the relatively advanced age of 27. This was because he had initially played three seasons with the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars in the USFL where he won two USFL championships. He thought highly of the USFL relative to the NFL and has stated that he feels the 1985 Philadelphia Stars of the USFL could have beaten the 1985 Philadelphia Eagles. Oates won three Super Bowl rings, two with the Giants in 1986 and 1990, and one with the 49ers in 1994. Oates was selected to five Pro Bowls during his career and to the UPI All-NFC team three times. He was extremely durable, starting 125 consecutive games during his Giants career.

The term black people is used in some socially-based systems of racial classification for humans of a dark-skinned phenotype, relative to other racial groups represented in a particular social context. Different societies apply different criteria regarding who is classified as "black", and often social variables such as class and socio-economic status also play a role, so that relatively dark-skinned people can be classified as white if they fulfill other social criteria of "whiteness" and relatively light-skinned people can be classified as black if they fulfill the social criteria for "blackness" in a particular setting.

As a biological phenotype being "black" is often associated with the very dark skin colors of some people who are classified as "black". But, particularly in the United States, the racial or ethnic classification also refers to people with all possible kinds of skin pigmentation from the darkest through to the very lightest skin colors, including albinos, if they are believed by others to have African ancestry, or to exhibit cultural traits associated with being "African-American". As a result, in the United States the term "black people" is not an indicator of skin color but of socially based racial classification.

Phillip Martin "Phil" Simms (born November 3, 1954) is a former American football quarterback, and currently a television sportscaster for the CBS network. After a standout career at Morehead State University, Simms was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) with the number seven selection overall in the 1979 NFL Draft. Simms played his entire professional career with the Giants and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Super Bowl XXI, after he led the Giants to a 39–20 victory over the Denver Broncos and set the record for highest completion percentage in a super bowl, going 22 for 25. He also was named to the Pro Bowl for his performances in the 1985 and 1993 seasons.

He finished his career with 33,462 passing yards and has since gone on to a career broadcaster of NFL games—first as an analyst for ESPN, then as a in-game color commentator with NBC, and currently with CBS. He is the father of former NFL quarterback and current New England Patriots assistant coach Chris Simms and New York Jets quarterback Matt Simms.

Brad William Benson (born November 25, 1955 in Altoona, Pennsylvania) is a former professional American football player. He was an offensive lineman with the New York Giants of the National Football League from 1978 to 1988. He was a pivotal member of the 1986 Giants team that defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI. Benson was selected to play in the 1986 Pro Bowl.

Benson played college football at Penn State University from 1974 to 1976 and attended Altoona Area High School. He currently resides in Flemington, New Jersey and owns Hyundai and Mitsubishi car dealerships in South Brunswick Township, New Jersey. He has filmed a series of television and radio commercials advertising his business, including an ad that featured Lawrence Taylor and another that parodied former New York governor Eliot Spitzer. One of his commercial features the glorious erection of the Giants Stadium goalpost.[1]. In another commercial, he offered pastor Terry Jones a free car if he did not burn the Qur'an. Eventually, Jones did not burn the Qur'an and he collected the new car from Benson and donated it to a charity."
