Afrika Bambaataa Finally Addresses Sexual Abuse Charges Against Him

Today, I want to give my thoughts and opinions of the Afrika Bambaataa sex allegations. For those of you who don’t know who Afrika Bambaataa is… he is the founder of the Zulu Nation. He founded the Zulu Nation in the 1970’s. The nation was known for being socially and politically aware through their music. His birth name is Kevin Donavan. He is also a former Rapper and currently is a DJ, originally from the Bronx, NY. He is also known as one of the forefathers of hip hop music. His most famous album is Planet Rock, which first hit the charts in 1986. Afrika Bambaataa is at the center of various sex allegations that was recently made public by DJ star on his channel on Youtube. Ronald Savage came forward on star’s show to reveal that he was alledgedly sexually abused by Africa Bambaataa in 1980. Savage stated that he wanted to finally speak up because the abuse has inflicted deep emotionally wounds that still haunts him to this day. He is 50 years old. He was known as Bee Stinger while he was a member of the Zulu Nation. He claims that he was 14 at the time of the alleged sexual assault. He also stated that he didn’t come forward to receive any financial gain. He stated that Bambaataa assaulted him at least 5 times. He stated that he never confided in anyone back when the alleged assaults took place, but he did say that later in life, he confided to his mother and former girlfriends. Out of fear, Savage stated that he didn’t tell anyone because of the power and influence Bambaataa had back then in the community. He stated that he wanted to get the word out of what happened to him before he dies. It’s is important to note that the statute of limitations of this alleged assault has passed. Savage stated that he want to fight to get rid of those limitations. His main focus are other victims in the world who may not have the courage to speak up on their assaults, but may have the courage in the future. According to Ronal Savage, two high ranking members of the Zulu Nation, called him several times to arrange a sit down with himself, Afrika Bambaataa and other members. He also stated that they wanted to discuss some type of compensation for the alleged abuse. He also stated that the conversations he had with the Zulu Nations were recorded. According to Savage, here is a direct quote that one of the member allegedly said to him, “Name your price.” “We can take care of this today, cash money.” In addition to Ronald Savage claims, there have been other men to come forward with claims that they too were sexually assaulted at a young age by Bambaataa. Afrika Bambaataa was recently interviewed by Ed Lover and Moni Love. He has firmly denied all of the allegations that has been brought against him. He even claims that he never met Ronald Savage.
