From Tyrrhenian Sea to Libya
For more information on this video, including the 1080p version and imagery to download, visit our video page: eol.jsc.nasa.gov This video was taken by the crew of Expedition 31 on board the International Space Station. The sequence of shots was taken May 13, 2012 from 14:26:58 to 14:43:30 GMT, on a pass from the Tyrrhenian Sea, east of Spain, to central Libya. This short video begins looking east over the Mediterranean Sea at northern Africa and Sardinia and Corsica. As the ISS travels southeast, the clay color of the Libyan Desert contrasts the blue of the Mediterranean Sea before the pass ends overlooking the sand dunes of the desert.

On the hillside slop down from the Piazza, there are some wonderful pallazzi in Pizzo. From the Osilo down and around to Santa Rita Church, Padre Pio statue, an amazing reconstruction going on, then up the street peeking down and up vicoli, stopping at antique doorways and gazing across the Tyrrhenian Sea just hours before sunset in May 2008.

Envirtech Sea Bottom Laboratory "Vulcan Class" acceptance test. The devices in the vulcan class are basically realtime seafloor observatories with high performance and capability to collect many different parameters transmitting them to the surface with high throughput. These equipments should be used when the coastal region to protect is too close to the tsunami-genic source. In fact in these cases should be acquired any precursor of tsunami-genic event. The Vulcan Class seafloor observatories have the same basic performances of the Poseidon Class devices but are also capable to collect data coming from broadband seismometers, Hydrophones, Adcp and water quality probes. The devices are deployed using a mooring line (not freefall) and represent by themselves the dead weights for the surface buoys used for satellite data relay. More on www.envirtech.org

In 32 knots wind: Bavaria 40 cruiser in April 2011 on the Tyrrhenian sea
We sailed on the Tyrrhenian sea with some cool Hungarian guys in April 2011. The speed of the wind was some times between 25-40 knots, temperature 7 centigrade. We had to bring a sailboat (Bavaria 40C) from Bari to Salerno. We have done it - through the Messina channel - during 6 days and 3 nights (650 sea miles). It was a nice adventure Posseidon and Aiolos did not pampered us... But our cook was excellent in all wether, he compensate it some times with hot muschroom-creme soup in the cockpit, sometimes with bacon spiced grilled chicken with toothsome filled potetoes (on little paradise hat) in the dinning room, none the less the kitchen had been a little bit unstabile.../ If you would like to contact me: szentpaly.w.miklos@gmail.com Egy vitorlást kellett vinnünk Bariból Salernóba, időre (kb. 1200 km). Kifogtuk, Posseidon és Aiolos nem kényeztetett bennünket. A felvétel a Tirrén tengeren készült áprilisban: sokszor hét fok volt, a szél elérte a 40 csomót is, de szuper volt. Séfünk isteni eledelekkel kényeztetett bennünket a nem éppen stabil konyha ellenére.
