SUBSCRIBE to Next Media Animation: www.youtube.com A recent New York Times article exposed the "hidden riches" of the family of China's Premier Wen Jiabao. In a matter of days Wen and his lawyers were denying the details of the story. Facebook: www.facebook.com Webpage: www.nma.tv Twitter @nmatv: twitter.com Tumblr: nmatv.tumblr.com As it turns out Wen Jiabao, known as the "people's premier", and his family have assets totalling $2.7 billion dollars. According to the New York Times article, his family came into its wealth after Jiabao became a part of China's political elite. Born into a "poor family" Jiabao made it part of his political agenda to be more relatable to the Chinese people. His Mother, a schoolteacher, now holds over $120 million in assets. Other family members have been financially supported by state run businesses such as China Mobile, China's largest mobile phone operator. This news breaks at a bad time for China, as a leadership change is about to take place November 8. Censors did not take long to block the New York Times along with other links to the article and social media sites, a practice they have been doing quite regularly over the past few months. In an unusual move for Chinese Leaders, Wen Jiabao's lawyers have issued a statement against the foreign press.

In today's NTD China News, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says he doesn't want to be remembered, during a speech in Thailand that state-run media has not reported. With the appointment of new regional party chiefs to replace newly promoted leaders, what will happen to the balance of power within the Communist Party? Analysts weigh in on what the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" has shed light on, eight years after its publication. Voice of America reports that a former reporter and blogger, Li Yuanlong, has been detained by police, after he reported about the death of five boys in Guizhou province who were discovered in a dumpster last Friday. Japan announces Masato Kitera as its new ambassador to China. He replaces Shinichi Nishimya, who died of a sudden heart attack after his appointment back in September. Taiwan has denied entry to the Dalai Lama. A local group had invited the Tibetan spiritual leader to speak in December. They accuse Taiwanese authorities of caving into Chinese pressure. Japanese carmakers speak of losses at the Guangzhou Auto Show. A Chinese grandmother speaks about what inspired her to knit more than 400 sweaters for orphans in Shanghai. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Sweden Monday for a three-day visit, after official visits to Iceland and Germany. It's part of a larger tour Wen is making of northern Europe. The Swedish Minister for Enterprise Annie Loof welcomed Wen during his stopover in Gothenburg. On Tuesday, Wen visited carmaker Volvo's factory. China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group bought the Swedish premium brand in 2010. It's China's biggest overseas carmaker purchase. Wen Jiabao's Article Hints On Zhou Yongkang?
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com April 15 is the date on which to commemorate Hu Yaobang, who was a former Chinese Communist Party secretary. The CCP's media has informed us that the next issue of Qiushi magazine will publish Wen Jiaobao's article. The current political atmosphere in Beijing is extremely tense, Hu's commemoration date is sensitive, so Wen's article is arousing the public's attention. Scholars have pointed out that Wen's article has the intention of commemorating Hu. Meanwhile, it also hints on Zhou Yongkang. On April 16, the latest CCP's magazine Qiushi published Premier Wen Jiabao's article, the title is "Let the Power Run in the Sun (In an Aboveboard Way)". This article was reproduced according to the content of Wen's speech on March 26. This article emphasized the importance of anti corruption, requiring it to be implemented in a practical way. Wen said that a government must serve the people and that to satisfy them, it must be efficient and free from corruption." Wen has urged the improvement of administrative transparency, "The open and the operation of power in an aboveboard way, is an effective way of fighting corruption." Sun Wenguang, former Prof. of Shandong University believes that Wen's article has the purpose of commemorating Hu Yaobang. it also relates, however, to the current situation. Sun Wenguang says that, "Wen has shown his dissatisfaction since Bo Xilai's incident happened. I think he is now ...

Wen Jiabao's Family Hits Back at NY Times Report
It's a rare move to see from the family of a senior Communist Party leader. Close relatives of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao are retaliating after a negative foreign media report. Last Friday, the New York Times published an article claiming Wen Jiabao's relatives control up to 2.7 billion dollars in assets and business interests—though it stopped short of accusing Wen of any wrongdoing himself. It appears Wen Jiabao is now hitting back. On Monday, the China's Foreign Spokesman Hong Lei confirmed rumored reports that Wen's family had hired lawyers to refute the allegations. Two lawyers from Beijing, Wang Weidong and Bai Tao, have issued a statement on behalf of the family, saying, quote, "the so-called hidden riches of Wen Jiabao's family members mentioned in the New York Times report do not exist." According to the lawyers' statement, Wen's family plans to further dispute other incorrect claims. They've also not ruled out taking legal action against the New York Times. The New York Times report comes amidst a sensitive period for Chinese leaders. It's not just the upcoming once-in-a-decade leadership transition next month. It also came on the same day that disgraced Chinese official Bo Xilai was expelled from the National People's Congress. Some analysts believe the Times was fed information or was influenced by Bo Xilai's supporters, out of desperation ahead of Bo's impending criminal trial. Times reporter David Barboza says his article was based on information collected ...

Wen Jiabao Puts Forward "Vindication of Falun Gong"
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Premier Wen Jiabao's recent talks at high-level meetings keep disturbing the taboo subjects of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). On March 24, the overseas media quoted the insider news saying that Wen Jiabao put forward political reform, "vindication of June 4th democratic movement", and vindication of the CCP's former leaders Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang. Wen even openly proposed the "vindication of Falun Gong", But he faced fierce opposition from Jiang Zemin's clique, notably from Zhou Yongkang, Jiang's chief representative of Jiang's gang. Outside commentators say that in the CCP's top circle a great division in attitudes toward ways of handling the Falun Gong issue has emerged. This signals an both escalation and an opening up of the conflict between Hu-Wen and Zhou Yongkang. After Wen Jiabao proposed "the vindication of Falun Gong", the CCP's most taboo word "Falun Gong" could be successfully searched on Baidu, China's largest search engine. On March 21 at 1 am, Falun Gong could be searched on Baidu. "Zhuan Falun" is the main book for guiding the cultivation of Falun Dafa practitioners. The next day, Baidu lifted another ban on "False Fire", a film exposing the truth of the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident that took place in 2001. Late on March 23, another lifting on Baidu was the book "Bloody Harvest: The Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China". The main names dominating ...

China News - November 5, 2012: Wen Jiabao Requests Wealth Probe
In today's NTD China News, the Chinese regime has officially expelled Bo Xilai from the Communist Party, following a four day closed meeting that ended on Sunday. China's former railway minister, Liu Zhijun, was also expelled during the 7th Plenary Session of the CCP's Central Committee. Liu was sacked last year following accusations of corruption. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has reportedly asked Chinese authorities to investigate the finances of his family. It's in response to a report by the New York Times that alleged Wen's family controlled $2.7 billion in assets. Wen's family have denied the claims. Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has urged incoming Chinese leaders to undertake political reform, saying the regime's current heavy handed approach in Tibet has not worked. A heavy snowstorm that struck northern China over the weekend has left three Japanese tourists dead. Japanese carmaker Toyota has announced an optimistic profit forecast for this year, despite the setbacks in China following anti-Japanese riots. More villagers in China's Hebei province are extending support for a persecution victim, that's despite the threat of crackdown by local authorities. As the Chinese regime negotiates its power transfer, state-controlled media are facing competition from the country's growing online community, who are becoming increasingly skeptical of Party propaganda. Wen Jiabao Attends ASEM Summit in Laos
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has left behind the political power struggles of the Communist Party this week, attending a summit of Asian and European leaders in Vientiane, Laos. Wen, who will soon step down as Chinese premier, called for close cooperation on energy security at the Asia-Europe Meeting on Tuesday. He also urged the countries to work together on disaster prevention and mitigation. On Monday, Wen met with several European leaders, including French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minster Mario Monti and Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev. The separate meetings focused mainly on bi-lateral trade and financial relations. Wen's line of up meetings left out Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda. China and Japan have been locked in a heated sovereignty dispute over islands in the East China Sea. The Chinese regime is also engaged in other maritime rows with its neighbors in the South China Sea. While the main focus of the ASEM summit remained on the Eurozone crisis, leaders agreed on the Vientiane Declaration to use peaceful means to settle any territorial disputes. ASEM was established 17 years ago. This week's summit included leaders from 49 countries. For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me

Wen Jiabao Relaxed Responding to Attacks
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com At the critical moment ahead of the 18th National Congress, Wen Jiabao has shown a completely different manner from other leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Besides regular political work, Wen also unofficially visited universities to make speeches, and even enjoyed a friendly basketball match one week ago. Some remarked that Wen was striving for his right to speak after stepping down. However, insiders said that those acts manifested that Wen had finally relaxed his mind from his previous gloomy mood. On October 8th, China Sports Daily reported on its front page the news that Wen had enjoyed playing basketball with retired basketball players and fans at the court of the State General Administration of Sport. As the power struggle inside the CCP becomes white-hot, Wen's unrestrained manner has drawn a great deal of attention from outsiders. According to a report of some Hong Kong media on October 11th, Wen's relaxation resulted from a release of gloom which had haunted his mind for a long time. Insiders revealed that, Wen Jiabao clarified himself against all serious criticisms and personal attacks during the inner-party democratic consultation of the State Council on August 30th. During the consultation, Wen Jiabao presented six important points. Firstly, he had never made any personal decision against the CCP Central Committee's resolutions at any time. Secondly, he had no personal ...

Wen Jiabao Criticizes Noise Argument
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com On June 15, the CCP premier Wen Jiabao attended a symposium with counselors of the State Council and researchers of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History. He gave a speech on the symposium and emphasized that leaders should not ignore the objections and simply treat them as noises. He called for that "leader should listen to and be inclusive of different views, and do not simply treat different views as noises." Analysts believe that what Wen said can be seen as a critique on the "noise argument" by People's Daily. Mainland media reported, Wen Jiabao emphasized on the symposium that leaders should tell the truth and listen to the truth, and they should learn from different views. Wen said that leaders should listen to and be inclusive of different views, and not simply treat different views as noises. Wen mentioned that leaders should learn from different views, especially critical comments. Before Wen's speech, on March 31, People's Daily published an article named "Do not be disturbed by the noise". In the following days, People's Daily hyped about the noise argument and called for suppressing the noise to achieve "unity of thinking". Analysts believe, Wen's speech can be seen as a critique of the noise argument led by People's Daily. Commenter Ren Baiming: "There are only 'red or black' and 'enemy or friend' in the current situation in China. For example, if you discuss the ...
